Inspired by the sights and sounds of Greenwich Village, THE BLEECKER STREET brings a little taste of lower Manhattan to Southern California. The interior is "Village Fun" with influences from SOHO, Little Italy and the warehouse district. Imagine the feeling of sitting between two vintage buildings at Barollo in SOHO,or the new meets old open industrial feeling of Peasant in NOLITA(North Little Italy), or the comfortable refined feel of Gemma's candles and dark woods in the Bowery. Bleecker Street is every bit and more. Dress is urban casual with servers taking your order on a bent knee or sitting at an open seat. When you come to Bleecker Street, you're not coming to a restaurant you're coming to our home. We want to be the 1st place you think about when you say " I need to relax"
"Went with another couple. Enjoyed the selection of different martinis. I had the basil lemontini, which was nice and refreshing, while my friend had a mint julep that she really enjoyed. They also had a fairly nice selection of beers, which they do not advertise. We started with the mac and cheese and the goat cheese appetizers. The mac and cheese was okay; it needed salt and wasn't as cheesy as I would like. The goat cheese app was delicious: the sauce the goat cheese came in was rich and thick, and we asked for bread so we could mop it all up. The halibut was delicious...the mustard sauce was yummy, and the fish was fresh. The burgers were cooked perfectly and nice and juicy. We will be back!"

"We went there last week for my birthday. It was 6 of us girls and service was okay. Seemed like they only had one waiter which made it difficult to ask for anything cause it seemed like he was overwhelmed. They changed the menu. The old menu was a lot better so that was a turn off. They also forgot 2 ingredients in my salad and I had to ask twice for them to fix it. Was hoping they would do something for the inconvenience but unfortunately they didn't."

"We had an excellent experience at The Bleecker Street on Saturday evening. The fresh fish entree's were delicious and well presented and the dessert, their take on tiramisu, was excellent!"

"Had the lobster grilled cheese but found it to be slightly fishy, would not get it in. Other member of the party had chicken cordon blue, which she really enjoyed. Desserts were amazing, both the peach cobbler & the bread pudding. Service was amazing, the waitress was very friendly and checked on us constantly without being pushy. Will definitely return!"

"Their pizza is wonderful, everything else so-so. This used to be our favorite place in the area, but the chef and management has changed. The changes in the menu may appeal to some, but we weren't as happy. The wait staff is excellent."

"This was our first time back after they got a new chef and reopened for lunch. Our dinners were very good - but, not extraordinary. I had the chicken palliard salad which was very fresh and healthy tasting. My husband had the grilled salmon - very good yet very straight forward. We shared the truffle fries which are to die for. They were quite busy and the bar was hopping. I can see why...our Sapphire martinis were huge and delicious! The service was wonderful! The noise level is what it is and when they're busy, you'll have to know that it'll be loud. We will definitely be back! And, it was lovely to see them busy again. I want this place to succeed!"

"Visited very early on a Saturday night, so the noise level was still fairly low. A few neighborhood families who obviously walked brought their restaurant-ready children, but there were also already a few folks at the beautiful bar watching March Madness, and couples scattered about. The service was friendly, well trained and attentive. The food is a very interesting mix and beautifully prepared. Bread on request comes with butter and a delicious rough tapenade. The Ahi stack appetizer was beautiful - sushi meets French cooking. The filet was cooked perfectly to the doneness ordered in a rich, balsamic sauce with lots of well cooked veggies. Farm salad could have used a touch more dressing, but nicely presented. Interesting pizza menu"

"We come here often and enjoy the brick walls, high ceiling and like to sit upstairs, looking down on the room below. The main course chopped salad with salmon was generous in size, tasty and the salmon was excellently seasoned. My husband's house burger was delicious. He tried a new beer - accurately described by the server. Portions are generous, and the food is very well prepared."

"This was my first time here at The Bleeker Street. It had a great vibe to it. The food is good but I wouldn't say its anything special. I would say this is a great place to have a birthday dinner for a large party. There's an upstairs area that looks it could be used for a large group."

"This was our second trip to Bleecker Street. Although still quite good, our first experience was much better. I believe that it had to do with what we ordered. Our server was incredible and attended to all of our needs. Despite our disappointment on this second trip, we will still come back. Well worthwhile."

"We come come here several times and a year and we are always glad we did. The Mac n Cheese is the epitome of Comfort Food. The house salad is awesome and if you add a piece of salmon (or chicken) you have a great meal. We love all the candlabras. Makes for a nice setting. We have always had great service here, which is really important to us when we go out."

"My first time here. Loved my small-plate entree: Short Ribs and Shrimp! Should've had a salad too, though, because I was hungry when I got home! My special basil-vodka drink was good, but had to ask for more vodka as it tasted like there was none! Don't know if I'll go back since I don't live close, but it was fun with our large group."

"We started with water stained wine glasses, moved on to hardened rice on the ahi tower to an uninspiring Caesar salad. Bleeker street has work to do on their menu and perhaps the chef needs a refresher. Sparse crowd might indicate the public's response."

"My wife and I made a last minute reservation. Even though the reservation went through Open Table, it apparently conflicted with the status at the restaurant. I immediately received a call from the hostess who was apologetic but made every effort to sit us close to the time we requested. Our waitress could not have been more attentive and steered us to some great food (this being our first time at this restaurant). My only "complaint" would be that the restaurant is noisy. However, the food and service was superb. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!"

"Met a girlfriend there for dinner. We sat upstairs at a 2 top (table for 2). Told the hostess we were in for the long haul as our kids were out with our hubbies. Things started off nicely. Wine, salad, conversation. But before we were even half way done with our salad, the meal was put in front of us! Uh, HELLO! NOT DONE WITH THE SALAD!!! AND, they started clearing the salads even though we had our forks in our hands. It would benefit the restaurant to retrain their staff to pay better attention and if they are unsure - ASK! The food was good, portions good, wines by the glass good as well."

"My husband and I went here for Valentine’s Day. It was so GREAT! First, they gave us a complimentary champaign toast and later, when leaving, they gave me a beautiful rose. The champaign and rose was super nice of them and completely unexpected. The waitress was super nice and patient. We had food and wine questions which she answered with no problem and with a smile on her face. Loved it! The food was so very good. We had an appetizer, salad, main course and desert all of which was very very good. I will definitely go there again! I couldn’t have been happier with the evening!"

"Our first visit last summer was fun and delicious. Valentina's Day visit was below average. Shirmp cocktail was stale and fishy. Surf and turf was tough and yucky. Ceasar Salad was small and average. Ahi Tuna was tasteless. Menu was very limited. We had to wait a long time to order or ask for anything.TV was on with sports--distracting, in-your-face.We'd come back for frites or pizza but never again for fine dining."

"Sorry It took me so long to write back. Just wanted to say everything was perfect,it was my first time there and I asked for a special table and received it. We sat upstairs and our waitress was sweet and awesome, The staff was great on following up on phone calls to make sure I was taken care of. Excellent job everyone. I was there the evening of the 1/25/13 And without a doubt I will be back. Thanks again, Paul Nicholson"

"Service was, at best, adequate IF this restaurant was a coffee shop. Food was fair, if that. Two examples: Luke warm pizza (had to have been hot at some point, but not when it came to our table) and $12 for stale (dry) Lava Cake topped with flavorless vanilla ice cream (well, it WAS white, so that was our guess). Could provide more examples (there were four of us), but I believe you get the point."

"We were disappointed in our return visit. We had a lovely experience the first time we dined here so expectations were high. They weren't met this time around. We brought our own wine, but it took our waiter almost a half hour (& 3 reminders) to open the bottle/bring glasses (which were smudgy). We felt neglected.Salad plates lingered on the crowded table well beyond our entrees being served. Several busboys walked by our table without noticing. Finally I had to flag down someone to take them away.We felt a bit neglected again. The food is okay, not spectacular, and when you're paying the prices they're charging, you're hoping/expecting a nice dining experience at least. Not sure we'd return, sadly. The food doesn't make up for the poor service."

"Bleecker is one of those restaurants that, if I lived closer, I would frequent. Food was fantastic. Portions are shareable. Bleecker House Salad = yum, mix of salty and sweet, especially with the medjool dates, crumbled feta was not overpowering as sometimes it can be. Calamari with jalapenos was a fiesta, skeptical about the jalapenos but they offered a nice kick. The lettuce wraps = a meal in itself, heavy on the peanut, but just as tasty. We got the coffee rub rib-eye steaks, plated w/ mashed taters and firm to the bite veggies = perfectly cooked, sometimes smaller restos get the temp wrong, but our steaks were great. No steak sauce needed! Judy, our server, was attentive and friendly. Glad she recommended the steak."

"Front door allows blasts of cold air to come inside. Curtain helps but not enough. 42nd st pizza tasted 'off' as if an ingredient went bad. Short ribs were 'OK'. Chicken dish was enjoyed by our friend. The farmers market chopped salad was great. Cheesecake was bland. Bacon ice cream was a novelty that sounded more exotic than it tasted. Restaurant is usually crowded with many locals and has a fun lively atmosphere. Food can be good but inconsistent. Service was polite but inefficient. Drink refills never offered, cutlery not provided when main dishes served. If expectations are low you'll like the restaurant - especially if you live nearby."

"I normally love the food at this place but last visit something went terribly wrong with my main dish (stuffed shrimp) which was the special. It was over cooked and indelible. I was with a group of friends so I did not send it back because I didn't want to cause a scene. I will go back again because the service is great and normally the food is great too. I'll just be more careful ordering next time."
