"We had tickets for war horse at the Belk, so we thought we'd try dinner at BLT steak. We arrived around 630, the place was nearly empty. The server was very attentive, offering suggestions and splitting our salad. He was great-the right amount of asking questions without being intrusive. We shared a beet salad, a salmon special, and the swordfish that was on the menu. We also ordered sides of asparagus and jalapeño mashed potatoes. Everything was very good. The fish was well prepared. Only comment is the portion size of the mashed potatoes. For $10, you got 2 tablespoons in a ramekin. That didn't seem right.
Regardless, will definitely return for a special occasion."

"The service here was fantastic when we went. The waiter was prompt, courteous, and personable as he recommended appetizers, sides, drinks, and desserts. We received a couple of appetizers on the house while we were waiting for our meal including a chicken liver pate, and a delicious cheese puff pastry. The recommendations turned out to be delicious choices, and we received our food quickly. The food was absolutely savory and delicious. I highly recommend the Hamachi Salad, the Filet for dinner, and the Peanut Butter Chocolate Mousse for dessert. We left very full and satisfied. We will definitely be going back!"

"As a frequent diner at the BLT in NY, I've come to love the Dover Sole. Imagine my surprise when I was told they had run out the night before. Okay so life brings a few disappointments. I settled on the salmon, only to learn they had also run out. I ended up with the crab cake and while delicious, the fact that my two favorite items weren't available and the rudeness of the waiter put a damper on the evening. The waiter did try to make up for it by surprising us with free desserts which were appreciated, but this experience was a far cry from what I expected and compared to BLT in NY."

"If you're looking for a high end lunch option, BLT will deliver. I had their swordfish sandwich and jalapeno mashed potatoes for $12, it had excellent flavor and texture. My only complaint would be the "toppers" they do as their bread option. It's essentially an oversized muffin shape but the texture of bread. It was undercooked and a little gooey in the center with less flavor than I expected."

"We thought BLT Steak was participating in Restaurant Week this week in Charlotte. They weren't. We weren't going in there expecting to spend $50+ for a meal (restaurant week meals are $32) so we were undecided on whether we would stay to eat a full course meal or not. Thurms out, after we ordered our appetizer of delicious bacon, that the restaurant provides complimentary popovers (awesome, cheesy, puffy, goodness) and some chicken liver pate with toast (not a fan, but not BLT Steak's fault) AND Espresso chocolate nuggests of ooey-gooey goodness. So, we only spent a little and left fully satisfied. I'll be going back...knowing that it'll cost me more than I normally spend, cause it was that good!"

"Food was very nicely prepared and presented although the chef may have tried a little too hard on seasoning combinations. Service was friendly but the waitress mis heard my wife's entree order. Restaurant appropriately reduced bill. Although we acknowledge that it is "the Ritz" the prices for food and beverages far exceeded the ambiance. Entrees only came with popovers. Necessary small sides were $10 each. Wine prices by the bottle and the glass were considerably higher than usual for similar venues."

"We returned to BLT last night Friday night and were very surprised with our experience. While the food and service were very good I was very disappointed with a request I had called earlier about. I called two days before to ask if we could have a quiet table which we were given and I asked if they had lobster. It was my birthday and that I wanted lobster. When given the menu I noticed immediately there was no lobster and the woman who sat us said, "we don't have a tank and we're out" It was 7:30PM. I understand about running out of things but I had made a point of calling and asking. I believe service is a very high component with fine dining along with the food served."

"I travel extensively throughout the USA and Europe and have eaten at some of the world's premier restaurants. BLT delivers fantastic food, great service, and excellent overall experience without the attitude often associated with 5 star cuisine. Progressive and fun atmosphere. The only negatives were an abbreviated wine list and tables for two were a bit close together for those who would like a touch more privacy. That being said, I would definitely dine @ BLT my next visit to Charlotte and I would highly recommend you give it a try."

"I travel a lot and eat at many steakhouses. Even so, I'd put BLT among the best. Two people had the tuna tartare as starters, which they raved about. One had a filet and another had the hanger steak. Both were prepared perfectly. The green beans with garlic are divine, and the fontina baked potato is really, really good, though one is plenty for a table of 4. We finished with the pecan pie, which disappeared quickly."
