"Now understanding that this restaurant is located in the upscale financial district, dinner for two costing $160 including tip is quite steep for the food. The food was delicious, but not for the price. I would not return but enjoyed it for a one-time treat."

"The service was delightful and friendly. The food was delicious, though the portions for 'mains' were small. I certainly don't want to advocate for American-style portions, but something in the middle? The way it was served, it looked like an appetizer.
Like most Toronto restaurants, the by-the-glass wine list pricing is obscene. They could probably have a broader wine list and better prices."

"Lunch was very good and we got one of their smaller private rooms for a group of 12; service was good and food was quick, we were able to get in-and-out in about an hour... highly recommend their juices and lunch specials!"

"The food was excellent. Service was only ok. The server walked away from the table without taking everyone's drink order. We had to wait about 30 to 45 minutes before our food order was taken."

"I returned one of the dish because the meat was too dry- couldn't eat it and I've never had to return a dish in my life... the server had the power to order me something else and remove the first dish from the bill- now that's great service!"

"Food was very good. I had pumpkin pasta very tasty but some might want a larger portion but it was fine for me. Had the chocolate cake for dessert very yummy! Drink list was very good also. Would def go back."

"This is our "go to" restaurant for dinner before any event at the ACC. It's a quick walk downhill. You can park under the building for free if you get your parking ticket validated by the restaurant.( Check the days of the week that this applies.) In the summer there is an outdoor patio. The food is excellent and the waiters knowledgable and attentive."

"Our experience at Far Niente was terrific. The hostess was friendly and seated us promptly. The waiter looked after us and, since this was our first time at Far Niente, had recommendations for dishes based on questions about our preferences. My wife and I shared tastes of both our appetizer and mains agreed that they were all top rate; well-presented and flavorful. I ordered a wine by the glass and the pinot noir was excellent."

"Good location for business lunches. My only complaint is that we were seated in an odd area away from the main dining area - a tight row of two seat tables that felt disconnected from the rest of the restaurant. I'm not sure if we were seated there because I reserved the table over the Internet, but if I ever eat at FN again, I will be sure to make my reservation by phone and specifically request a table in the main dining room area, which seemed much more open and had more natural light, etc.

"I attended Far Niente for a business lunch on a Monday afternoon. The service was attentive, the food was very good and the moderate noise level allowed for easy conversation with my guest. I would comfortably recommend this location to colleagues."

"Reservation request handled expertly by Lara. Table placement was ideal for purposes of quiet, uninterrupted conversation.

"Food was very good. My friend had halibut which she enjoyed. I had the black cod which was perfectly prepared although I found the accompanying sauce a little sweet. Seared sea scallops were excellent. Citrus cheesecake also delicious. Perfect portion sizes.
Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the wines we were considering. We took her suggestion and her description of the wine was accurate.
I've dined here primarily on weekends when it is always very quiet. I assume they are busier during the week."

"The staff were excellent in all aspects. Despite a reservation we were placed in a very cold place and needed coats to get through lunch. The food was fine and we especially enjoyed the Creme Brulee for dessert."

"The menu was too limited and entre veggie creations were very odd. While flavour combinations can be interesting these just didn't work. For example, cold pickled cauliflower with some kind of - what appeared to be - bean mash didnt work with the chicken. Because of these odd vegetable combinations nothing on the menu was very appealing, thus making it difficult to choose."

"While I enjoyed the food, it was hot and good quality, I resented the upselling from the waiter. It felt like a high pressure time share sales pitch to add extras to my meal, sparkling water, add-ons, pressure to order dessert when I had clearly already said no. I would warn anyone I recommended to go for the food, how to resist the pressure from the waiter."
