"We were there to celebrate my birthday so there was a group of us and we all enjoyed ourselves. In fact, two of the gentlemen that joined are having bachelor parties coming up and they both inquired about having it there as they were so impressed with place."

"I brought guests to Reds the other day after work. We sat outside because it was such a nice day. Service was very good. Location good. Onion rings and beer awesome. The only problem I had, as did my guests, were the chicken wings. There was no meat on the bones and it had been overcooked to extreme."

"I was disappointed with this visit. While lunch time will always be a busy time, the service was just okay, the food was "okay" and I found that our table for 2 was squeezed in and the chairs were small, wobbly and uncomfortable. We had the Turkey BLT sandwich and the Prime Rib Sandwich with salad. For dessert we had black forest cake and carrot cake. Both were just okay. Wine was great."

"We came in for lunch a bit early (12:30 though our reso was for 12:45). We were seated right away even though it was busy. A server handed over some menus but never came back to take a drink order. After waiting 20 minutes for someone to come back to our table we left. I certainly hope those who dine here for lunch have long lunch breaks because if it takes 20 minutes for a server to pop by your table, lunch would take hours. *I put 'good' for food but we didn't get a chance to eat.
Perhaps we'll try again for dinner.

"We had wanted to visit Reds for a while now and we finally got to do so on a chilly Saturday night. We tucked in with a bottle of Malbec and the beef tartare and the fried pork belly to start. The appetizers were delicious. Unfortunately, that's where the fun ended. The mains were good, but not memorable. We had the salmon, steak, pork and the pasta. We all agreed that the pasta was the best one of the four but, again, it wouldn't draw me back to the restaurant. For dessert, the red and black forest cake was definitely the best of the two; the carrot cake was way too much for one person. But, nothing wowed us. The ambience/decor, however, were gorgeous. I would come back for a glass of wine and just admire their unique lighting."

"Service has improved tremendously since changing formats to the wine tavern, from wine bistro. From order to presentation, turn-around time was phenomenal. Great server (Calvie) and much nicer "attitude" from staff. All that said, food was fantastic!"

"This is an excellent place for dinner; however if you don't like a noisy ambience try to reserve in advance and ask for a table upstairs in the smaller area near the windows closer to the staircase. The sevice was excellent, as was the food, and the wine list is impressive. We shared the seafood fritti which was crispy, without a hint of grease, and the vegetable mezze, with wonderful Middle Eastern seasoning. Our glasses of wine were served in small carafes, which made it easy to taste each other's choice, particularly as the server made sure that we had a clean glass for each taste. It is a good place for a pre-theatre dinner, being close to the theatre district"

"I love the after-work buzz in the bar, it's a good mix of young professionals and senior big-shots - smart-casual with a few suits. The bar downstairs is first-come-first-serve, but they happily reserved a table upstairs for us in case there wasn't a table available. The service is fantastic, at your table when you need them, attentive without being annoying. This time we went for drinks and enjoyed a few 'sharables' - a great menu with lots of different plates (the mussels are to die for). This place is a new favourite for catching up with friends or celebrating the end of a long week!"

"Reds Renovation is all good EXCEPT for the noise which is intolerable at lunch. Lunch time is not "Thursday night". I use lunch to meet and talk with clients and colleagues. Unfortuntely Reds is no longer suitable for talking unless you are lucky enough to sit in the private room upstairs (which I now always request)."

"I have been to Reds many times, both before and after the menu transformation. New menu is good....the buttermilk chicken is amazing. Fresh fish is sort of a specialty here too. They took the devilled eggs off the menu which is a bad thing for me but overall still a good place to eat for lunch downtown."

"Our knowledgeable, fun and helpful waiter (Ben) paired us with the perfect 6 or 9 oz Red or White wine carafe with each delicious appetizer and brought fresh glasses so we could spend a great wine tasting evening. "Very chic atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is very good and delicious. I salute the chef. I love the hot sauce - the taste is so unique (I don't like other hot sauce that much) and I enjoyed it. Everybody in our group was very satisfied with their choices for lunch, enjoyed every minute of it. I'm so proud that I got the bragging rights that I deserve in bringing my close friends specially the birthday celebrants (2 of them)to REDS. Keep up the good work!"

"Service was a bit slow towards the end of our meal. Food was very good, especially the salade nicoise. One of my guests does not have a strong voice, so it was a bit hard to hear them given the background noise in the restaurant. The new lighting at the long tables (hanging lightbulbs) is a bit weird since it cuts into your vision as you look at guests."

"It was OK. Service was good -food came quickly and was hot. However, coffee took forever and was warm. We enjoyed it but it's not in my top 20 and I don't think we will ba back."

"More bistro style ambiance now, relaxed but still a professional enough place for a business meeting. Busy lunchtime spot for the Bay Street crowd so definitely recommend a reservation. Attentive but not pushy wait staff, left to enjoy a leisurely lunch do not have to be in and out in the hour if you do not want to."

"We enjoyed our luncheon experience. It was my guest's 40th birthday. We were fortunate to have the small private-ish dining room off the second floor as it was otherwise noisy in the main rooms. Still, the food was excellent, the wines we had well-chosen and the ambiance very nice. Our waiter, Mark B., was knowledgeable and friendly - and fairly attentive so we did not want for anything."
