"Prairie Grass Cafe is a place my parents and I can both enjoy. I love it for their commitment to local, sustainable, organic produce and meats, and my parents enjoy that there's fish, there's steak, and nothing too 'crazy' on the menu. This is the perfect blend of city-ingenuity in the North burbs. I wish there were more places like it."

"My wife and I loved the service here. We loved that a lot of food was locally sourced. We loved the decor. I wish we could have loved the food. It was just OK.
My steak was cooked to perfection - just the way I like it - but it had no flavor. Even the sauce was barely detectable. I appreciate subtle flavors as much as anyone, but these flavors just left me wishing I could taste them more clearly. My wife's fish was the same - good, but not great.
For the amount of money I was charged, I expected GREAT food and GREAT service. I only got great service and decent food. Wildfire's service is almost as good, the food is certainly better, and the prices are somewhat lower than Prairie Grass."

was packed with people waiting everywhere. They seated everyone else first, and we were the very last party to be seated.

"One of the few places you can find locally sourced food in a restaurant. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their entree. The service was great. I love the decor. I wish they could have an area for outdoor dining but it's located in an office building. We had an early reservation (5:30 - because that was all that was available) and half of the tables were families with small children. By the time we left, though, it was mostly all adults. For the quality of the food, the prices are reasonable. We'll be going back - with the kids this time!"

"I heartily recommend the burger. Though the description sounds plain the taste is not! Simple, yet VERY flavorful. Not being a fan of blue cheese I substituted cheddar. It's a great choice for people who are dieting but still want to enjoy a good meal away from home.
The burger is generously sized but with no bun and two large potato wedges it is a satisfying treat without the guilt."

"Our dinner was for a special event, the retirement of our friend. The service and the food was excellent!!! we loved the beet salad so much we ordered a second to share. we also enjoyed the flatbread appetizer . We will for sure be back to try other items on the menu. Going to Prairie Grass to celebrate this retirement made this occasion very special. Thank you for serving such high quality food. The desserts were wonderful, I had a piece of pie and it was the best pie crust I have ever had, I have been trying to make a pie crust like this for years!"

I found myself drinking from a water glass that had lipstick stains around the rim and I was using a straw as I always do so I know those stains were not from me. Our server, Pearl, was most apologetic and replaced it immediately."

"Price for quality of food is below average.Although generally good tasety and prooper temperature,way toi expensive for it.Nothing special for a crowded NorthShore restaurant.Not worth it.Wine tii costly also.Good menu variety however."

"This is one of my favorite restaurants. I have never had anything that I didn't think tasted amazing. delicious appetizers to choose This visit we had several items from the special menu-flatbread appetizer, Farmer's salad, dover sole-all delicious.My daughter beef requested a well-done filet. It was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Some restaurants cannot cook a good well-done piece of beef, but this restaurant can. There is a half roasted chicken dish which I have had before. It is fantastic. My only issues were the specialty cocktails which we did not enjoy. Also, the waiter was a little pushy about what he wanted us to order."

"We like Prairie Grass for it's extensive menu. There's something for everyone and the food is always delicious and well prepared. Great place to take families, picky eaters or guests whose food preference aren't known. Don't forget a piece of their famous homemade pie for dessert!"

"I had an outstanding meal of Quail, apple slaw, and sweet potato that was a special; wish it was on the menu ALL the time. My salad was excellent too. My husband loved his Tilapia. I will return to eat there again. The wait staff was professional and friendly. It was Valentines day so they were quick to serve. I loved that bread was on the table immediately. They have a wonderful dessert that easily serves two and must be ordered early called Sticky Toffee date cake."
