"Had a good dinner at a table next to the patio window. The couches on the waiting deck overlooking the beach was a great way of wait for our table to be ready while having drinks. Due to the large crowd for Mother's Day, by the time we ordered, they were out of the fresh fish and the flatbread items, thus my wife had to get her third choice. Waiter was very accomodating and took care of us. Will definitely be back."

We took our cousins from Pittsburgh and Ohio to Gladstone's after we spent the morning at the Getty Villa.
The five of us enjoyed a medium seafood tower; Wow!
Great choice! Afterwards, we went to Santa Monica Pier, manhattan beach via pch to home in Torrance; for home cooked steak, potatoes, asparagus, salad.
If we did not have this full meal waiting for us at home we would have made different choices at Gladstone's, as it turned out, the medium seafood tower and beautiful sour dough bread was outstanding !
Cannot wait to go back!"

"I come here all the time and love the food. It's great food, if a little bit pricey, but the view cannot be beat. One huge surprise was the Mother's Day brunch. What a spread! from amazing pasta salad to the best French toast I've ever had (with caramel sauce and bananas foster) and a great seafood spread plus beautiful desserts. A bloody mary bar pulled the whole thing together."

"Kerp in mind that i have worked in the restaurant industry for almost a decade... And although i have respect and of course i am polite to all wait staff, derp down inside I cannot help but judge.
So Despite the overpacked busy bodies, Gladstones did a fine job of handling the amount of guests literally POURING into the location. No complaints what so ever!!!! Had made previous reservations and we were seated within 10min of reserved time (honon our added request of window ocean view paio table). Food was fresh and delicious, drinks were strong, unique, and thirst-quenching, and to top it off our servers Matt and Tee-Tee had us laughing and kept us satisfied from beginning to end."

"We had a great time at Gladstone's. There was just enough different choices on the menu to suit each person in our party. The atmosphere is busy but nice. All the wait staff were responsive to all our requests, prompt, knowledgeable, and personable. The setting by the ocean is really lovely, and makes one feel further away from LA, although it is a huge place and packs in so many diners. All in all, one of my favorite places, for the ambience, not the food. The buffet was disappointing, so we stuck with the regular menu. Give my best to all the staff."

"We had a delicious lunch (all 7 of us) and our waiter was friendly and above average. Most of all, our reservation was at 1:30 and we were seated by 2pm. Good job Gladstones. The only negative is the food is a bit too pricey."

"First time here and I was not disappointed. The outdoor seating had a beautiful view of the ocean. The environment was very loud but only because it was Mother's Day. I'm sure on any other day, it would be very relaxing to go and enjoy and quick brunch. The food was just any other place. It was really good but I wish it was more unique. Overall my family and I had a very nice time."

"It was the worse experience ever at gladstones. Very disappointed I have been coming for years. The Buffett outside was not to the high standards when they have them inside. Food was spilled on the floor and not picked up. the line was long line because they were only serving utensils on one side of the table yet they were serving from both sides. There were no labels on the food and no one available to ask.The hostess told me as a party of 2 we could not sit by the window. Then sat parties of 2 by the window while I was dining. No one came to refill my water unless I ask. Too bad used to be one of my favorite places. None of the food even tasted good. We paid and my son said now where can we go eat. We went somewhere else to eat."

"I never had a brunch so poor in variety before. It was as simple and poor as a 3 star hotel buffet. Not only the variety, the food was also simple, we didn't go for seconds. I was really disappointed, the worst part is that is very expensive for what you get. The place is very nice the service good, but the food was awful, the bad part is that it was my first time there, so I don't think I would be back to try the food from the menu. I heard other people complaining about the same too."

"We went to Gladstones to celebrate my son's 25th birthday and we had a fantastic time! Our server Angel was very attentive and a genuine pleasure. You can tell that he takes pride in a job well done and he knows how to keep his customers happy. The food was amazing and plentiful. So much so that we had plenty of leftovers that Miguel wrapped up in tin foil shaped like a dragon!
Over all it was a wonderful experience and it was a perfect place to celebrate my son's first quarter of a century in the world!"

"Thank you so much Gladstones for a wonderful afternoon overlooking the ocean, enjoying drinks & food with friends. From the moment I arrived the hostess was very friendly & the GM, Tony, was very solicitous as he brought me to my table.
Our servers were all friendly & never made us feel like we had to leave. They were out of the wines we wanted but were wonderful about bringing us tastes of others. The only negative I would say is that they didn't have the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc we wanted, but they were so accommodating about it, I can't complain.
We all enjoyed our food immensely - the rock shrimp appetizer which was yummy, my friends had burgers which they enjoyed & I had a delicious crab roll.
And, of course, the view..."

"It is all about the ocean view;it makes everything better. I had made a reservation. We had young children (2) with us (4 adults). There was a mistake and our table was given to some other party. We waited over 30 minutes. Once we were seated, after we continued to inquire, we had good friendly service, and they offered two complimentary appetizers due to the mistake. Seafood is very good and fresh. Other items are fun casual dining choices."

"The service started out on a positive note,but quickly went downhill.Our server greeted us and brought 2 of our 4 drinks and then disapperared from site.About 10-15 went by when a random hostess came up to ask if our server was missing,we said yes.She indicated that he was sent on a meal break and that others would pull together to get us squared away.It never quite gelled after that. We didn't have one person who we could count on.The food came,it was great!But then the service fell off again.We ordered a piece of cake and 3 coffees and a tea. We got 1 coffee and 1 tea,no plates or forks.After having to repeat our request to 3 separate servers and two managers, finally a manager brought us our coffees,she comped them and gave us a discount"

"We love meeting up with our friends at Gladstones and sitting on the patio.
I love to get a caesar topped with blacken Mahi Mahi! It is not on the menu, but it is DELICIOUS! My husband loves the seafood risotto. It doesn't hurt that they have Great Bloody Marys, too!"

"I made a reservation and when we got there the hostess said "stay close and we will seat you momentarily." Unfortunately it was 45 minutes later that we were sat. If she had set our expectations at the beginning it would have been fine, but after several trips up to the hostess stand and her telling us it would be right now, it was very frustrating.
The food was OK. Nothing fantastic. Typical for a touristy type of place. I am a big fan of SBE so was disappointed."

"We had a wonderful birthday dinner celebration ... our server was excellent and very attentive. The food was terrific. It was a great evening and we even had our celebration documented by the house photographer. My only complaint was that our table was wobbly - but the server got someone to fix it right away - and we were a bit cramped. Our table was not the best table. I think in the future, I will ask for a booth and/or a table that is not wedged so tightly between the other tables. Also, if it wasn't so cold, I would have preferred to sit outside."

"A wonderful experince at Gladstones! Fabulous cocktails and you feel as though you are sitting right on the beach while dining. It is an excellent spot for new comers and those visiting in the area. The seafood was impecible and unique (the spicy tuna is a must-try!). The service was a bit slow, but they made up for it with a giant whale made of our leftover!"

"Moving back to Los Angeles, Gladstone's was the only place I wanted to meet up with my friends, and they were all happy to meet me there. They came in from Santa Barbara, Ventura, Palm Springs, and one walked over from his house. We had a great table, great ocean view and, of course, fantastic food.
Table favorites were the calamari appetizer, ALL of the vegetables and fish. Mostly, we loved our server Laura who kept smiling and did not complain when we used the end table to play dominoes while we ate. Gold Star goes to the manager who made sure our loaves of bread were sliced. High Five goes to the hostess who was super duper patient with us while we each gave her our opinion of where our table of eight should be."

"I gave it an overall fair rating due to the events that took place after dinner. After a $250 dinner, we returned to the valet stand to discover that they had lost our keys. We waited for an hour waiting to see if would find it and seeing how we were going to get home, we ended up having to take a cab back then driving all the way back to the restaurant in a different car with the spare key. This whole ordeal which took about 3 hours to deal with was very exhausting and ruined our Saturday night. I'm not sure if I want to go back after this knowing that the valet is extremely busy with the guys running back and forth throughout the parking lot and are somewhat disorganized that i'm not surprised they lost them. Total buzzkill."

"Easter Brunch at Gladstones was a memorable experience
Making reservations on Open Table was the difference between a good experience and a great experience.
Short wait on a day with literally thousands of people, we scored an excellent table with a view of the ocean, as requested in our reservation.
The staff was rocking and rolling keeping up with everyone and everything
We had a great time, enjoyed the food, the service, the view and the ambiance.
The only thing missing was Mel Gibson but maybe we will buy him a drink next time."

"Gladestones is just a gem placed on the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean. Surfers are out at the point where it is located while inside the patrons are treated to some very good seafood and excellent service. We have this restaurant in our sights as a special catch event, a day at the J. Paul Getty Villa or just for the "good of it." Can't beat the beach scene or the very infectious servers as they create a take home package that is like no other restaurant on the coast. Kudos!"

"We use to go to Gladstones all the time. Haven't been in many years as I moved out of the area. Went on Easter Sunday. Menu was very limited and Easter brunch was so disappointing on what was offered that we opt to order off the regular menu. Menu was very limited on selection. Clam chowder and bread was the best thing. Crab stuffed avacado's were good too. No fried shrimp! Huh? I don't mind paying high prices for great food. This is way over priced for what is offered. $99.95 for 2 pounds of Alaskan King Crab. Get a grip!"
