Carmine's simple and very popular concept is to serve every meal in the style of an Italian American wedding feast - which means large portions of home-style antipasti, pastas, seafood and meat entrees served on large platters designed for sharing. And when we say large, we mean large. An entree here could easily feed three to four average eaters. If you are in the market for better than average family style Italian food that is served in huge portions at reasonable prices, this is the place for you.

"My first time at the Atlantic City location. I have been to the Manhattan Theater District location several times and the AC food is just as great. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly and took great care of us. The noise level is a little loud, but there were several large groups (bachelor and bachelorette parties) around us. They looked like they were having a great time,so a good place to bring a large party. Good place for lively time, maybe not as good for quiet dinner for two. But then, it's Atlantic City. I would return."

"Our meal was awesome. Took waitress about 10 minutes to greet us. Took another 45 minutes to get our entrees. We didn't order apps. Waitress didn't come by again for about 15 minutes after that and was seen watching basketball at bar. Forget drink refills. Took about another 15 minutes for check. Horrible service but wonderful food!"

"We were a group of 9 women celebrating our friend's birthday in AC and we chose Carmine's because they always have great food and lots of it! We had a great waiter "Don" who made the night so much more fun and guide us through the menu so we chose the right amount of food. Carmine's is great to large parties because its family style and everyone gets to taste a variety of dishes. The specials that night were great and everything was delicious!!!"

"I know it's a family style restaurant but to charge $12.50 for adding pasta to dish is way overpriced in my book. It was just about a half pound of ziti added to 4 average to small chicken cutlets. Plus you needed extra sauce to top it off too. Very disappointed! The only good thing was they have Excellent fried calimari. This was the best dish we had."

"I don't think that you should accept reservations for 2 when you only serve meals starting for four people, without stating that fact.

"Carmine's is loud, busy, and expensive! I love every bit of it, well maybe not the expensive part. But you get what you pay for. Each entree feeds 3 people easily and is priced accordingly. The more the merrier at Carmines, split the food and split the bill for the best experience. We had a family dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. As long as you let the staff know before hand they'll bring desert and sing the traditional Happy Birthday to "insert name"."

"Couples cannot order separate dinners. Have to share because helpings to large. Could not order a small salad with meal or a small side of spaghetti so we had to eat only veal. The Veal was tough and hard to chew. Waiter opened the bill in front of us to check his tip and he had a attitude. We tipped him 20% even though we were not happy We would not go back."

"We came to Carmine's-AC for my daughter's 10th birthday as it is one of her favorite restaurants! I have to admit that the food was so delicious that we didn't speak to each other during the entire meal. (we all were too busy making "piggies" of ourselves devouring the dishes!) Needless to say, we were so full from dinner that we had to opt out on desert for my daughter...but the waiter brought out a special desert just for her and had the entire staff sing to her anyway! It was a fantastic experience all around...Although, the environment is a bit noisy...but that was OK because dinner was executed so flawlessly and our service was impeccable. Thank you for a great time!!"

"I have to say dining at Carmine's made 4 an interesting experience. I wasn't a fan of the menu on the wall because I'm near sighted & plus there was not much light so I had to pull the menu up on my cellular device. The food was good but I wish they offered smaller portions for smaller parties. Other than that I would recommend it to a friend but I would tell them to look up your menu on the web cause they may not be able to see it on the wall. Also I think it would be nice to have descriptions of the food as well."

"Don't dine as a twosome....or invite other couples to join in and become new friends! We love Carmines and have dined often at the upper westside locale. Tropicana Carmines has many tables for two, and takes reservations for two but does not offer smaller versions of anything. Our left overs are delicious. The stuffed artichoke is amazing as is the chicken parm. Pasta extra @ $12.50 for two. We thought that steep, considering just spagetti with some marinara; under the chicken parm. The venue is grand and staff, including manager were top notch. We would not go again unless with a larger party. Otherwise we recommend."

"WE TEND TO VISIT ATLANTIC CITY FREQUENTLY AND THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME AT CARMINE'S AS WE USUALLY STAY IN THE MARINA AREA.IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. THE FOOD WAS PLENTIFUL AND TASTED GREAT. IT WILL DEFINITELY BE A REPEAT EXPERIENCE WITH THE SAME GUEST AS WELL AS WITH OTHERS.IT MADE OUR VISIT EVEN A BETTER EXPERIENCE THAN USUAL."

"As with all restaurants, you have a favorite food and look forward to always ordering it. This time we were a little disappointed with the stuffed mushrooms. It's possible they have a new chef and although they were good, it was missing something that made them great in the past. We also found it very disturbing that the waiters/waitresses congregated not more than 2 feet from our table and held very lenghty and loud conversations."

"We actually dined twice at Carmines while we were staying at the Tropicana. On the first evening we ordered the Carmines Salad and The Chicken Scaloppini. Both were a bit better than I expected. If I had a criticism for each it would be that the salad was a bit over dressed and that the chicken could have used a dredging in flour prior to being sautéed. Over all we would return...and in fact we did. So go and enjoy."

"We were very disappointed!!! We have eaten there before & it was good. This time the food was not really not good. Apps were good but the pasta was bland & the meat was not hot & was just ok.. not what we expected from Carmines. And it was my moms 82 birthday. The staff that greeted us were also alittle curt."

"We had the chicken in lemon and butter and the manicotti. Both dishes were just ok. Servings were smaller than the last time I had the same dish. The two dishes were not enough for 4 people. Carmines was my favorite in the Tropicana, but I will be trying somewhere new on our next visit. The service was excellent though."
