"Love the Santa Monica location on Ocean, the place is so deserted for lunch during the week that I was almost embarrassed I'd made a reservation. Food is always great here, and always very expensive ($120 for two including tip, no alcohol). Our waitress was my least favorite kind -- eager to instantly take our order, while we wanted a calm leisurely lunch. But the place was empty, so she kept coming over and kept coming over, pushing the apps. Hate that. And then of course we did order, and the place started to fill up, and she was pretty much nowhere to be found."

"Everything was great! It's rare now a days to go to a restaurant where a waitress and host/hostess provide good service. Although, we were running late they were patient and didn't act irritated/annoyed. The waitress suggested amazing food and Saki as well! I'd definitely go again!"

"The sushi is the best that is available in in LA in our experience, and we have tried a lot of sushi restaurants. Our waiter and support staff were awesome and the overall service and food experience is some of the best you can and will find in Santa Monica. Trust your servers recommendations at this restaurant as ours gave us one of the best overall food experiences we have had in the states."

"I have been going to Sushi Roku for a number of years. It has always been one of the best sushi restaurants in Los Angeles. This meal was not of the same quality that every other meal has been. We chose the Omakase menu for lunch. Many of the dishes that came out were mediocre, very few of the dishes were amazing. And we specifically asked the server if there was Uni on the menu. My guest HATES Uni. The server emphatically stated that they never include Uni on the Omakase menu. EVER. We got a plate of three sushi pieces -- one of the three items was Uni. Sadly, I will probably be looking for other Sushi restaurants in Santa Monica now. Not sure if it was just an OFF day at Sushi Roku, or if they have gotten complacent and sloppy"

"I was about 5 minutes late to my reservation and had called to let them know I might be a little late. When I got there they gave my table away. That already had me angry, I thought to myself that's ok cause the place looks nice. Little did I know the waiters were un-attentive and took forever to come over. "Dine LA menu looked good but was extremely small. Waiter was good and the staff. Tables were so squished together you could here the other people's conversations next to us. Would not recommend it. Maybe for the sushi but not a Japanese meal. For the price we paid would never go back again."
