"Had read many reviews and in general they were spot on. Excellent steaks, typical steak house sides, good vibe in the place BUT the service is a bit. It is very simple to see why, they don't have enough servers. Our server was great and super efficient but she simply had too many tables.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the food and the scene but don't expect NYC service."

"my husband and i visit here when i crave a ceaser salad and cotton candy! ( okay, i love a good steak too ) i also love to take my out of town nieces here when they come to visit. on this visit i dressed down as my niece did not bring anything but her college wardrobe with her......i sprung a graduation celebration on her last minute! i noticed the tables around us got a bit more attion and their needs attended to first....not normal when i usually dine here, espcially when my i can compare the sevice from this waiter to my previous visits....oh well, she had fun and loved it! and i enjoyed the company of the other diners!"

"I've never eaten here, but I'm glad I did. I dont eat steak, but my bunny bun does and he said it melted in his mouth. Out waiter was funny and friendly. Ambience was lively, but not overly loud or crowded.

"I go to a lot of steak houses and the steak ( for 78 dollars) was not of a quality I would expect. It was good but lacked flavor. The dining experience was great with outside dining and good service. The drinks were well made and tasty. Price was very steep for the food quality. Good dining experience but with so many options in LA we will try another spot. I am from Seattle and john howie and the met should be comparable as they are at the same price point but the food quality is far better"

"I was skeptical about going to Boa for my anniversary and was concern about what the service would be like but for a large busy restaurant but they were able to provide adequate attention and show concern for the dinning experience without being intrusive. The food was quite good, especially the Goat Cheese stuff Baklava. The steak was excellent but I was actually more impressed by the steam mushrooms and Chipotle Lime Corn. The wine list was extensive but pricey but I was able to find a great bottle of Malbec that was adequately priced. Overall, Boa was actually surprisingly good in quality and service although the menu was not inventive and was pricey. One last word, make reservations if you do not want to wait outside with the crowds..."

"It was my husband 39th birthday and he requested me to make a reservation at BOA. He loves the Japanese beef. The food was excellent and he enjoyed it. We were well stuffed and was not able to order any desert. So we were ready to leave, then what a surprise that the waiter had brought a candle and a chocolate cake for him. It made our dinner more special and we were so happy. Thank you very much.
I could not give you the 5 starts today because the noise level was a little high even thought was Wednesday night. Since I am a half deaf and it was very difficult to keep talking with my husband at the face-to-face table. I am wondering if it is possible to request the seat next time.
We are looking forward to visit BOA next time."

"This use to be a "go to" restaurant for me. This was my first time at the Santa Monica location in almost a year and I was really disappointed. The service was really slow and the steak was so fatty and full of gristle that I couldn't even eat it. When the server checked on us he must have noticed that I only took a bite or 2 from the steak but he didn't say anything or ask if everything was ok.

"got seated out on the sidewalk in winter with plastic covering and propane heater, most other patrons sat inside in the warmth and ambience of the steakhouse. Never offered wine but did see other patrons offered a special on wine. Waiter more interested in bigger tips at the tables with groups than a single customer, even though the shop was only moderately filled on a Sunday early evening. The large expense and treatment was not worth what I expected it to be based on reputation."

"The steaks were excellent and my guests from the UK found the meat flavorful, the portions generous and the temperature of the beef just right. I personally recommend the prawn cocktail, amazing sauce. Another nice touch was that the manager checked in with us twice."

"The service was great and attentive. They looked after our every need. We split the bone-in rib eye, the brussel sprouts and the caesar salad. The caesar salad was great providing mouth watering layered taste and table side entertainment. The brussel sprouts while cooked well lacked salt (had better at another establishment in Manhattan Beach). Then what should have been the piece de resistance - the rib eye - was cooked perfectly but was lacking in flavor. I thought I was the only one thinking that but when checking in with my husband after dinner confirmed my lack of flavor. The experience left me wanting."

"It had been a few years since I had been back to BOA (life gets too busy). I went here for dinner with my cousin and the place was just as amazing and well run as when they first opened years ago. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a great steak on the Westside has to hit up BOA."

"Outstanding steak. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and very tender. Grilled asparagus was excellent with a hint of sweetness. 50% of most wines was a surprise for a Sunday. Service met expectations. Quite expensive, but worth the price for a special occasion."
