"This is my second time coming here and I can't wait to go back for my 3rd time. Food was delicious and came out very quick. Everyone at our table loved their food selection. We ordered a pitcher of sparkling sangria and it was so good!! It was light and refreshing and complimented our meal."

"We ate here a few times when the menu was upscale - and more pricey - and really enjoyed the meals and the ambience. Recognizing the changes to attract a broader clietele, we've been here a time or two since, and found interesting and well prepared choices. However, this time there was no entree that appealed to me so I had a selection of appetizers. The mushroom soup was just strange, the grilled octopus burned and flavorless, and the shrimp dumplings, on the other hand, were wonderful. My husband opted for fish and chips, and they were as expected. I think the appeal now is to a bar crowd, with lots of small plates on the menu. Doubt that we will be back."

"We have been away for nearly a year, so we returned to a new and different Uproot. It has gone from a restaurant that competed with New York City quality on all fronts, it now seems to have become a local bistro. All the food the six of us ordered were done well and we enjoyed our meals, but the WOW! factor we used to enjoy was not there."

"I've now been to Uproot on 3 separate occasions and I'm surprised to find the food more and more delicious every time I return. It's pretty pricey (roughly $30 for an entree), which would be my only criticism. So I will likely be reserving this place for more special occasions. The menu is seasonal so it has changed since the first time I went, but you really can't go wrong. If you still have room for dessert at the end of your meal I would definitely suggest the homemade donuts! Actually, make sure you save room for dessert because they're worth it."

"We enjoyed our experience at UpRoot. The bar has a great vibe, but when seated for dinner we were glad to be in the back room where it is not so loud. The seared sesame tuna in wonton cups and grilled octopus were delicious, and the ribeye with kale was excellent. I would skip the salad next time, though. It was just an expensive bowl of lettuce with not much else. Service was very attentive and pleasant. We'll be back."

"The food and service was exceptional. This was a nice find through OpenTable. I do think that is was a little pricey. The short ribs and sea scallops that we ordered were great. The chocolate lava cake was also something to end a nice evening. I say give it a try, you will enjoy the food and atmosphere."

"This is the third time I've been to UpRoot, and it was by far the best experience I've had. I had the daily special scallops - I can't describe it other than to say it was excellent. The lentils they were served with were a very interesting mix - with butternut squash, cranberries, and turnips. Very tasty. The chocolate dessert was to die for."

in huge bowls, instead of the traditional ramekins, which made for an odd presentation. It was, however, very tasty. The staff was very polite and attentive but it became a bit much when my friends and I were talking and the waiter came over to the table every five minutes to see if we were ready to order. Overall, an enjoyable experience with good food. Fun place to go with cool decor,

"We've been repeat customers of UpRoot for about a year now. It's one of those places we always enjoy our evening. The ambiance and atmosphere is trendy. The food is very good. I've read reviews where people have said that UpRoot has gone downhill, but in the 8 or so times we've been there in the last year, I couldn't disagree more. We have had service issues here twice which did annoy us quite a bit, but the food and our overall experiences outweigh those instances. The burgers are one of the best around, the guacamole is absolutely heavenly and scallops are excellent (6 nice size scallops for $28!). For those of you on the fence about trying UpRoot or returning again, just do it! The food really is that good!"

"Food was delicious!! Everything on the menu sounded really good so it was very difficult to decide what to order. The mac & cheese bites were amazing - I want to go back for more. I noted it was a birthday celebration when I made the reservations and it would have been nice if our waiter mentioned it. The hostess acknowledged it but only after seeing us carrying gifts with 'happy birthday' written all over the bag/wrapping paper - so just a little disappointed by that. Overall, food and staff was nice and looking forward to going back again."
