The food at Forage is connected to the land around us. We serve a single set tasting menu each night made up of ingredients from the wild as well as small farms and ranches. We attempt to serve the best ingredients we can find without losing the connection to their natural state. The dining experience is meant to represent the seasons and how they change with warmth, authenticity, excitement, and imagination.

"Forage is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to - and as an Account Exec for a Nasdaq listed services company, I have an essentially unlimited expense account and an endless number of customers to wow. Adding to its allure is that it's in Salt Lake and not NY, LA, Las Vegas, etc.
Sadly, I rarely find myself in Salt Lake City - but when I do, Forage is where I take the folks I need to impress.
The creativity and diversity of food and wine is unmatched. The only thing I'd change about Forage is their location as I live in FL and would like to eat there weekly."

"This was definitely quite the dining 'experience' and we loved every second of it! Incredible food and combinations. We even took advantage of the juice pairings (however, I would not do that again. Although the juice and pairing was wonderful, I felt it was way overpriced for juice). The cost of the meal, however, was more than reasonable for the incredible courses and service we received."

"Forage was an eating adventure. It is by far the most creative menu my husband and I have experienced. The dishes were thoughtful and elegant. The presentation was artful. I could care less about whether the staff was talkative or friendly (they were), or whether the chef visited our table (he did), we are just about the food. We take our eating seriously and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed the majority of new flavors of the 16 courses, and though there were one or two new tastes I did not prefer, I enjoyed the entire experience. I would like to visit again during a different season to try a new menu."

"This is a unique dining experience not to be had anywhere else in the valley. You will eat something like a 20 course meal over three hours. Generally, each course was excellent. There were a couple of terrible courses but overall the food quality was very high. I didn't leave as full as I thought I would. And the wine and/or juice pairings were small. You will pay $240+ for two if you get the pairings. Will go back once per year."

"Really, could it possibly get any better than this? Yes, it could have a spot for coats to be hung besides on the back of chairs. Yes, it could have a better view out the windows (time to move up, Bowman). Yes, the offerings could be less smoke-heavy (or perhaps fewer). In the grand scheme of things, however, this restaurant is for the sophisticated eater who both understands and appreciates the construction of fine food, with complex balance and stunning visual fireworks. Was it better than Jules Verne at the top of the Eiffel Tower, or Le Cinq at the George V? Joel Robuchon? Yes, yes and yes."

"This is the best restaurant in SLC. I am a foodie from NYC and I have rarely ate better food, even in NYC. It's a miracle that we have Forage here in SLC because there isn't a market for these types of restaurants. I would probably pay upwards of $500 for the same meal in a big city, so even though it might seem pricy, it's a phenomenal deal for the cuisine."

"Forage is worthy of the hype. The price is high but is on par for the experience and food. Each of our nineteen dishes was inventive, unique, beautiful and delicious. The time and creativity put into each course is obvious. My husband was impressed with the wine pairings and I (pregnant) was delighted with the juice pairings: everything from rhubarb to Douglas fir juice to housemade almond milk- amazing! The service is attentive and knowledgable while being friendly and unpretentious. They even sent us home with housemade granola for breakfast in the morning. Perfect for a special celebration."

"What an amazing meal! Probably the best we've had in Salt Lake City. The service was impecable. The food was outstanding. The wine pairings were delicious. We partciularly enjoyed the radish with sorrel, the carrots with smoked pistachios, the elk with yellow beets and yellowfoot mushrooms. Although the meal was all small bites, there were enough courses to fill you up by the end. We had read beforehand that the meal could take up to three hours, and it did. But it was well worth it."

"This was my third time at Forage, and it didn't disappoint! The understated decor and quiet music make for a relaxing ambience, and the waitstaff are organized to a high level of service and attention. In fact, my mother, whom I was treating to a dinner there, was convinced that there were far more people covering the tables than there actually were, because of of the level and timeliness of their attention! The level of creativity in the use and presentation of local ingredients in each dish is an unmatched delight, and one of the main reasons that dining at Forage engages and indulges all of your senses. Yes, a night out here is a bit of a splurge, but it's well worth it for a special occasion!"

"Forage has a reputation that precedes itself. The food is excellent, the ambiance is very nice, the service is impeccable, and it feels intimate enough for most excursions. I only rated a 4/5 ambiance because the evening I attended, another patron was boisterous and obnoxious with another group of 4 to my side who also disregarded classical etiquette. The staff was prompt, polite, and knowledgeable. The kitchen staff and process looked like an art exhibit. The serving plates were unique and beautiful, helping to aid the experience and lend suggestive tones to the influence of the chef's pursuits. Absolutely incredible overall. Would suggest to 10/10 friends. Pricey, but something I can easily excuse for each season's experience."

"Food was excellent, with great and unusual variety. However, portions were minuscule. I have eaten at numerous restaurants with high-end multi-course tasting menus, and the portions are typically small. However, Forage had the smallest portion by far, across all courses. Wine pairings were also very skimpy. If not for basket of bread served early (I suggest eating it all) and granola provided as the diners leave the restaurant, we might have stopped at Epic Brewery on the way home from the restaurant for a sandwich. Its hard to believe the value of the ingredients is large enough to justify such tiny portions - perhaps for a few courses, but not every one."

"This was our 4th trip to Forage, and I am sorry to report that it was disappointing. The food was exquisitely presented in an artistic fashion, but the menu lacked the variation and breadth of flavors that defined our previous experiences. Too many of the courses featured sour flavors, incorporating yogurt, sour cream, or vinegar. Probably a tasting menu should not have two of its primary dishes revolve around elk, although both were expertly prepared. The service, while professional, was neither friendly nor attentive. For a price of $275 for the 2 of us (including 1 1/2 glasses of wine each), I expect a meal to be perfect in every way. Until Thursday, Forage was our favorite SLC restaurant, but now I can't imagine when we'll return."

"Wow, just wow! There is no selection at this restaurant, only a Chef's tasting menu. For one price, you get about 14 different "tastes". The food, just spectacular. The service, wonderful. The price, a little steep, but worth it. Overall, a great experience."

"The best dining experience ever... Chef Brown has created the most unique and flavorful foods with wine pairings available for those that appreciate wine.
The food was served as small (1 to 5 bites) individual courses. We had 4 appetizers, 8 main courses and 3 desert dishes, and we are told that the menu is always changing (we will find out). We also had the wine parings package and were glad we did as it really did complement the overall experience.
It was expensive, but honestly it was worth every penny. And we will go back."

"This is dining as entertainment. We were presented with a 16 course tasting menu and from start to finish were pleased and surprised. The service was excellent and each course was explained as it was presented. Not one course disappointed. It is a two to three hour dining experience and there is no rush to turn tables. If you are going to dinner to break up with your lover/spouse/partner, wait until the end for two reasons: you really want to enjoy the experience and this dinner could change your mind."

"This restaurant requires an all in approach bt it is worth it. The three-hour meal was wonderful from beginning to end. The wines paired with the food were phenomenal. Service was excellent throughout the 16 course dinner. The staff is friendly, presented and discussed each plate as it was set down and was in constant motion. Chef Bowman Brown was kind enough to come out and discuss his philosophy of food at the end of the evening. A must return for the next time I am in Salt Lake City."

"Went in and enjoyed exactly what I expected. A wonderfully created 17 course meal prepared by a chef that has found his niche. The wait staff service was unparalleled. The experience of eating in a restaurant of that caliber in such an unassuming place was an experience I will repeat. I grew up with the chef. Hauled hay in fields near his house. The flavor of his sun chokes cooked in hay was unbelievable, not only perfectly flavorful, but brought back memories, sights smells and flavors from the past that made the meal even better. The elk, duck...... Wow.
I can't say enough. The cabbage with roasted chicken vinaigrette stole the show. I never would have thought such a simple dish could boast so much flavor.
Well done Chef Brown."

"Forage is an experience. The meal itself was wonderful! We did, however, notice some inconsistencies in the timing of service. People who sat down 45 minutes after us were a single course behind by the end of the evening. I'm also not entirely sure that my partner ended up getting the right amount of wine pairings. The non-alcoholic and juice pairings, however, were exceptional! And, overall, we had a really wonderful meal!"

"Forage is most likely the best restaurant in SLC (I haven't eaten at them all). Though expensive, a meal like this in probably any other city would be much more.
