Mercadito
The newest Mercadito locations are the chicest and most modern additions to the restaurant family. Ample sized banquets accommodate large parties while smaller white quartzite tables and the soft wood floor and ceiling keep the atmosphere cozy. Exquisite details include rope screens separating banquettes, handmade pyramid-shaped copper lights illuminating the bar, and unique graffiti-style murals dressing the dining rooms. A massive bar area and lounge lets guests relax while taking in the stylish and upscale environment.

"Our dining experience started out great, we were very excited to try something new. Our appetizers came out right away and were nice and hot. When we ordered our entrees, our waiter went missing for a while . We watched as everyone around us was served their food who, might I add, arrived and ordered after us. I was about to grab a manager when our waiter finally showed up totally clueless. He had no idea that we hadn't received our food yet. When we finally got our food (close to 30 minutes) it was warm, not hot, as if it had been sitting for a while. We wanted more food originally but did not want to wait any longer. It is unfortunate that our experience at a place with such good food and high standards was ruined by a missing waiter..."

"I've been there twice: Restaurant Week and for a birthday. It was great both times. Food is unique and flavorful, and service is attentive and knowledgeable. Drinks are special and tasty. The only problem, the tables are super close to each other. Luckily it wasn't totally crowded, but we were seated next to a couple that was just getting their bill. It was hard to have a normal conversation with my lady because they were basically sitting at our table. It seems like they stagger seating in order to facilitate spacing, but if it's crowded...
Overall, I would recommend this to everyone I know. The food and drinks more than make up for its one shortcoming."

"It took 15 minutes to get a waiter once we sat down but once he came he was great. Its all about the food which is outstanding. I liked trying 3 different guacomoles and three different salsas. The tacos were to die for. And my favorite.. the traditional margarita with smoke."

"Title of review says it all. I would definitely go back (again and again) for the good food but probably not on a Saturday night. The noise level was off the richter scale! Definitely plan on doing some shouting when you dine there on a weekend night. Otherwise the food was amazing, the server was extremely attentive and knowledgable about the menu, and the drinks were also great. Overall would recommend but not if you're planning an intimate date."

"Good energy, friendly staff, great for special occasion. Food is a bit overpriced and drinks are definitely not cheap. I found the traditional margarita my favorite drink and a good amount of tequila for the price. The guacamole is delicious but small portion. "I loved finding this restaurant. It is a real translation for Mexican food as reinvented. Ceviches are to die for and their margaritas are just outstanding. Service was impeccable. I would only recommend the music to take another route. Too loud. But I am already planing my next visit."

"We went on cinco de mayo hoping for a festive afternoon lunch and that's what we got! We were dining with my 2 small children and they had modest accommodations for them in terms of seating and fod choices. The service was good and we enjoyed the live music in honor of the occasion. "If you want to have a great drink and some mini tacos look no further than this place they have the best soft shelled beef tacos. Also, they have great margaritas. If you are big guy like me just make sure they sit you at a normal sized table. They have some in the front that are kind of child sized :). Although I will say when I brought it to their attention they switched our table right away, hostess staff was excellent."

"One of the best meals I've ever had! If you can deal with really loud atmosphere and practically sitting in the lap of the diners next to you (not exaggerating) then you will have a fabulous experience. Misty's Sleeve is the best margarita I've ever, ever had. Spicy, fruity, overall delicious. And the tacos! Octopus rocked, the lobster was perfect, the Carne melted in my mouth. I WILL be back."

"The food was outstanding. The flavors that were developed in such a small taco left me truly satisfied. My friend and I ordered the pollo tacos and pescado tacos. The little market drink was also phenomenal. The good was amazing, and the drinks were delicious. The server gave us our space and came back at the perfect times.
The only downfall is you can't hear a darn thing in there! We were sitting 2 feet from each other and couldn't have any real conversations. The server did bend down to make sure we could hear her. I wouldn't come here for a date or with people I don't really know, this is more a "come with good friends" or come to the bar place."

"The food was wonderful and the service was spot-on! We ended up trying a variety of the tacos, all of which were delicious in their own way. The tacos are small enough so that you can sample many, especially with their special this evening of 2 for $5.50 (before 7pm). We also tried a duo of guacamoles (traditional and mango), and the meatballs - all of which we enjoyed. It was a little noisy inside the restaurant, but the food was definitely a winner!"

"I enjoy an energetic vibe and those that know me will certainly agree I have no trouble being heard. However, the noise level at Mercadito was so crazy loud it was painful and had a profoundly negative impact on our experience. My suggestion...go for lunch when you can enjoy the food without the roar. Also really enjoy the downstairs lounge...cozy and the service was excellent."

"Food here is great ! A little different than an ordinary "mexican" menu. Awesome guacamole choices. Love the small plates .. Gives you a chance to try more things . .. Haven't ordered anything that wasnt delicious! The Drinks and service are wonderful too !! Its a little noisy but that is as close as I can come to a complaint."

"Amazing! What can I say? People think Mexican food is easy to do, but it's not. I've been to 3 Mexican restaurants in the past week and Mercadito is the best. Zapatista was cheaper, but the food was nothing to write home about. Ay, Chiwowa is GROSS! Mercadito's flavors are outstanding and authentic. The service was exceptional as well. Run to this place, you'll be happy that you listened to me."

"I went here for my birthday with a group of friends last September and we had a fabulous time. Remembering how delicious the food was, I took my parents here when this visited this past weekend. I guess I didn't realize it when I went with a bigger group but this place is LOUD. I enjoy an energetic place, but I won't be coming back here for awhile because it was just too packed and noisy. We had to shout to even hear each other and we were seated nearly on top of the large table next to us (only a few inches in between our table and theirs)."

"Very noisy and crowded. It's a happening kind of place. Don't go if you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner. The food is good but not outstanding. It's also very pricey for small portions. The staff is terrific; very accommodating and attentive. My wife and I are in our 60s and both agree this is for the younger set."
