Chef Partner Julian Medina and restaurant group YB & Co introduce Christopher Gilman and their newest Latin hot spot, YerbaBuena Perry. Located at One Perry Street in Manhattan's West Village. YerbaBuena Perry is a chic 55-seater that stirs up an era gone by-1950's Cuba. The restaurant features Julian Medina's reinterpreted Cocina Latina cuisine complemented by signature cocktails, many made with Yerba Buena, a latin mint.
YerbaBuena Perry transports guests from the West Village to an exclusive club in Havana with a feel that is retro yet chic and sophisticated. Designer Welly Lai outfitted the space with floral wall coverings in sea foam hues and leather banquettes, setting a mood of elegance. The restaurant's focal point is an expansive hand-carved bar with an Italian marble top.
Julian Medina's cusine evokes Peru, Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, México and Spain. Yerba Buena Perry's menu includes Ceviches, Tacos, and Parrillada, an Argentine mixed Grill.
"Had a fantastic brunch at Yerba Buena - the food was all outstanding - every dish was delicious. And even though it was very busy at brunch, the service did not suffer at all, in fact the opposite - the server was friendly and VERY attentive to our "unlimited" drinks - it was a great experience!"

"If you are going for a really good arroz con pollo, this is the wrong place for you. It's fine, but you really want to order more of their non-traditional Cuban fare, which is often tinged with Asian flavors. The ceviches were delicious, with several very unexpected accompaniments. There's a duck dish that comes with noodles that is really yummy. I also really liked their short rib botana. Order as a group with small plates (or throw in a few entree sized plates) to enjoy the range of options offered."

"I came here with a good friend of mine for cocktails and appetizers. We ordered the guac and the picada. You don't need anything else if you will be drinking your calories the way we did. Her mojito was spectacular and my BLACKBERRY GIMLET was divine. The freshly squeezed blackberry juice with the vodka and lime was such a treat on a hot late afternoon. The picada had delicious chicarron and chorizo and fired yuca balls. The atmosphere was very friendly and the service was great. They were very attentive and they were constantly freshening up our drinks without us having to hail a waiter down. The music was all salsa and merengue hits, vintage and noveau. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I will be going with my mother for sure."

"I've been to YB on Perry many times and it never fails on food, drinks and vibe. Between the attention to detail on the food, Bartenders that use fresh herbs on creative drinks and a fun vibe, I feel like I am on vacation when I go there."

"Really enjoyed our meal - the only thing I would not have ordered again was the meat dish to share - the picada. The squid was totally amazing, tacos delicious. Yum yum yum!"

"Had a great time at Yerba Buena this past Sunday for boozy brunch, my first time...the guacamole dip with chipotle was extremely tasty and paired well with the Brazilian Bellinis we drank, and I also thoroughly enjoyed the arepas. Service was solid and they kept the drinks flowing and didn't hold us to the one-hour limit - we were there for probably 75-80 minutes or so."

"We went to Yerba Buena with a TravelZoo deal. The food overall was delicious. We split an order of the trio fries (watermelon, avocado and hearts of palm) and the parillada (mixed grill). The parillada was AMAZING. A huge ribeye steak topped with avocado salad, a large portion of short ribs, a big chunk of bone marrow, a comically tiny arepa, and assorted sauces. Delicious, but perhaps a bit too rich, especially with the fries (our fault, obviously). Cocktails, apps, and desserts were included too. The first two were great, but the desserts were rather uninspired. I'd love to go back, but to be honest, I feel the actual price of everything we ordered was quite high. Not sure I'd go back without some kind of deal."

"My boyfriend and I tried a handful of the small plates as well as the "hearts of palm" french fries - which are basically hearts of palm, battered and fried. All were quite tasty save for the beef tacos, which were a little lacking in flavor. I would go back for the fish tacos, the mini arepas, and the fries.
The atmosphere was modern (but not too much so) and vibrant. Though it wasn't too busy when we first got there, it still felt lively. Many more people filtered in around 8pm, but even then, it didn't get too noisy. It's a solid choice for date night."

"Went here for a birthday brunch on Saturday and had a terrific experience. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. She kept the unlimited brunch cocktails flowing. She even gave 2 of my friends their drinks in larger glasses. The food was also very good. The only thing I can suggest is that I was hoping that my fish tacos entree would have been more. It seemed there was a whole lot more rice than beans. The guacamole is excellent and so were the cheese fritter appetizer. The ambiance inside was fun and energetic and I would definitely go again."

"Great brunch. Food was very good. Brunch cocktails were great. A bit loud. Sort of close, but this is NYC and have been closer to other tables in other places. Recommend highly."

"I guess I had too high ecpectation for this place. The 1 hour unlimited drink is a great deal although both of mimosa and bloody mary was slightly weak. French toast was delicious with rich and fluffy brioche and a lot of cheese in it, but I just didn't like the caramel sauce on top of it. It was overpowering and too sweet to me. We seated in the back of the restaurant, and it was kind of dark. I missed windows and sun shine. Service was overall good. Bartendar was nice and our glasses were always re-filled quickly. But I just felt weird when a waiter jumped into our conversation by himself."

"Been there twice now with large groups (6 and 8 people), and everyone has loved it both times. Really good food and their spicy margaritas are dangerously good. I recommend the coffee braised pork belly and guacamole for appetizers, and the suckling pig and the black cod for entrees."

"I was pleasantly surprised at how much this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The service - including the hostess - was spot on and respectful. Good choices for food. I had the baby back ribs (off the bone) and my friends had the suckling pig. Both succulent."

"This place had a happening vibe. Loud music, funky decor, and fantastic drinks. The food was great - the calamari is definitely worth it! The ceviche and fish tacos were also excellent. We tried the trio of fries - avocado, watermelon and hearts of palm - and decided we prefer these things not fried but it was still an interesting dish to try! The service was really great and the overall dining experience made for a nice evening. I would definitely recommend this place and I'll be back to try some of the other dishes."
