715 is a neighborhood eatery featuring local, handmade food by chef-owner Michael Beard. Whole heritage breed hogs are butchered in house and turned into a variety of handcrafted old-world salami and sausages. Try the soppressata pizza with Calabrian chili peppers. All pasta is made in house daily. Wine by the glass starts at $4. The pork, beef, rabbit and lamb are all from Kansas. Daily specials often include fish, pork, sometimes lamb, goat, beef. Great vegetarian options. Open weekdays from 11:00AM to Midnight. Weekends feature a brunch from 9:00 'til 3:00. Full-service lunch and dinner: simple, local, reasonable. Late night food, wine and cocktails. Great happy hour everyday from 3:00 - 6:00 at the bar, pizzas are just $7 every night from 10 to 12.
"Much more sophisticated than the Lawrence I remember. Really enjoyed the space with the open kitchen and the nice variety of the menu. Would definitely recommend!"

"Consistently good food with local ingredients. This is Lawrence's best overall dining experience. Regular menu is supplemented by a specials menu that offers fresh and creative options. A bit noisy when the restaurant is full. Reserve an early timeslot if you want a quieter experience in this trendy restaurant."

"Simplicity and moderation may not be what you're looking for when dining in Lawrence. If that is the case don't bother visiting 715 Mass. For anyone who has an evening free and want to experiance a wonderful dining experiance I recomend trying this resarunt when you are next in Lawrence."

"I remember when 715 first opened, we tried it 2-3 times and it was ho-hum. But the owner listened to the customers and it kept getting better & better. Today it is one of the premier restaurants in Lawrence. I love the diversity of the food and the recipes and the LOCAL touch."

"While the food was great, it was really busy and seemed understaffed. Service was slow and it was very loud, but our waitress was great and the ambience was good."

"Every item we had at dinner earlier this week was wonderful - perfectly cooked halibut special (delivered from the ocean that morning!), a tasty sausage/lentil dish, appetizers, nice wine. Carefully blended flavors and textures. 715 is simply different than most places- the owners are there, staff is well-trained and everyone cares about the customer's experience. On a weeknight, we were in and out within an hour with multiple courses and time to savor both the food and the lively atmosphere. Although we've considered 715 a "special occasion" restaurant in the past, we plan to start going more regularly now. For about $75 including tax and tip, we had a spectacular dinner for two, a great value. Be sure to make a reservation."

"Second time in a week I had dinner there and both times top notch. We had a great Spanish Rioja for dinner it was very affordable. Wine was a bit warm but not unusual in American restaurants.Brunch on Sunday was wonderful. Being someone who lives in California I only wish 715 was closer."

"Enjoyed 715 on two of our three nights in Lawrence. Love the bar staff who are artists in their craft. Small portions outstanding. Pasta and steaks better than steak restaurants. Never disappointed."

"Great cocktails! We got into Lawrence late and managed to get nice pizzas and cocktails despite their being ready to close up: we were very grateful. Second time we reserved, and had a great time--had cocktails, good California rosés, and a variety of appetizers. The restaurant has life and character, and the service was friendly."

"The waitress and staff were warm, welcoming, prompt, and accommodating. The meatballs were fantastic and the food was all fresh and delicious. The ambiance was warm and campy...very interesting with an intimacy to it. They aimed to please their customers.
Just try not to sit under a fan there. They can't regulate the air flow and it was the only down side of the restaurant."

"Grilled shrimp was excellent! Perfect sized dish, wouldn't want any smaller.
Seemed a little too loud. We were seated in the back which was fine but noise level a little high and tough to talk and not feel like you were talking really loud."

"Really enjoyed energetic atmosphere with above average food. The menu was varied but not over whelming. The wine list had some nice selections but wasn't over priced or a "snob" list. Service was good. We were on our way to an event and didn't want to linger. It was easy in and easy out. Just perfect for dining before another activity."

"When they checked us in, they in fact cancelled our reservation. Took an email to Open Table to rectify this. I liked the food, but my husband thought his duck sausage dish was dry. Nice smoked trout crostini. Some nice Scandinavian food directions plus others."

"Great evening with excellent food and friends. The pasta is amazing, the choices are always full of the tried and true, but with an excellent daily menu. If you're craving a repeat dish, it's there, if you want something new you can have that, too. It is also the one restaurant in town that has never disappointed us with the desserts. They get just as much attention as the main dishes. Really good coffee as well. :-) 715 is a great date night, perfect for a GNO, good for dinner with friends, and our kids love it."

"I really like the atmosphere here, but it is very noisy....sometimes hard to carry on a conversation. The service was good and food well done. We especially like the rosemary bread as an appetizer."

"We love 715. We are from KC and we love making the trip to Lawrence for this gem. The specials are always hard to resist. They are very well crafted but I find them a bit on the small side. We like to get one of the specials and one of their wonderful pasta dishes, which are huge, and share. I'd say this this place is our second favorite in the area behind only Justus Drugstore in Smithville."

"As always, 715 delivers with food, service, and ambience! I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and my date had the lamb flatbread. Both were delicious. I've had the ravioli before and it still delivered exactly what I wanted and expected. We also shared the date cake, and it was to die for! I'd definitely recommend this hot spot for everyone looking for a nice evening out, romantic or otherwise!"

"Food was OK but nothing great. 715 salad was so wet that it lost all flavor. I had the trout which was good, if slightly overdone even though I asked it to be underdone. The polenta was a good complement but the greens so spicy as to overwhelm the quiet flavor of the fish. Helpful, fun, attentive, but not to attentive server."

"We really enjoyed our dinner at 715. It's a unique establishment in the Lawrence market. The food is high-end, but is provided at moderate prices. The wait staff was observant and courteous, and they made an effort to ensure that our experience was pleasant. It is not a large establishment, so it is a little crowded, but not overly so.
My only complaint would be the wine prices. Expect to pay $8-12 for a small juice glass of wine. Our tab was $167 for 4 people to have appetizers, main course and dessert, including wine."

"I love everything about 715! The great selection of food, the ambiance, even the romantic setting for Valentines Day! I had gotten the sea bass while my date had spaghetti. Both I thought were delicious! I am a nutrition "freak", with my allergies and my dietary restrictions, though 715 is more than welcoming and nice with my restrictions. 715 is a restaurant I will forever go to and recommend to others!"
