Blue Morel Restaurant and Wine Bar (Named Top 10 New Restaurants in U.S.) combines the finest seasonal ingredients from local, regional, organic and sustainable farms with the culinary creativity of Chef Thomas Ciszak and Chef Kevin Takafuji. Nestled in historic Morristown, New Jersey, Blue Morel creates a "Farm to Table" experience serving New American Cuisine, Sushi and a Seafood Raw Bar.
Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a buffet brunch is served on Sundays. Our new Sunday Supper features a three course menu for $29 per person. The Wine Bar offers more than 70 wines by the glass and half glass tastings and is available for receptions up to 25 people. For private dining, Blue Morel features the Wine Room, which seats up to 18 guests. For larger events, weddings and bar mitzvahs, elegant rooms are available to accomodate up to 400 guests.
"The food was not as outstanding as we expected given the notariety of the chef. The website said classy dress, people were in the restaurant in flip flops and shorts - wished I'd known. The waiter complained about being a long day and the service reflected his pain."

"Went for the first time on Mother's Day. I didn't expect much due to the holiday. Food was great, wine list was good. We were not rushed during our meal, which often happens on these typesof holidays. We will return for a non-holiday experience."

"Food and service very good! Great selections include sushi and raw bar, good wine by the glass selections. Wedding let out later in the evening and bar filled with what I would describe not the normal crowd. Time for me to leave, but will be back!"

"This was our third time at Blue Morel and we have thoroughly enjoyed our meal each time we were there. The room is large and roomy so that you really have plenty of space without feeling that the tables are on top of each other. The menu has interesting and diverse choices, and all of the people in my group loved their dishes. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate our needs--the service was excellent!"

"Brunch was not as good as it had been in the past. Food was ok but not exciting. Value was poor. Save your money and go to a good diner or find a nicer brunch spot."

"This was our first time at the new Blue Morel and the food is outstanding. The chef has a very wide range of choices and uses only the finest local fresh foods to create the meals. There is a broad wine selection to match the excellent food. This is a hotel restaurant so expect families with kids and a varied crowd. The room is nice but some background music would help the dinner experience. This is not a cheap dinner but expect some of the best food around the Morristown area."

"We went once to Blue Morel, and I thought it was the best restaurant in NJ. We want again and were disappointed. The food is beautifully presented and in principle is well conceived. However the execution was inadequate (e.g. the dominant flavor in octopus appetizer was smoke and char; tuna entree was beautiful but flavorless; sea bass was good, but not as good as previous visit--seemed to have too much butter or fat). This was on a saturday night, when I would expect the chef to be at peak form. The wine-by-the-glass list while extensive, is expensive (many glasses in the $15-25 range) and limited in variety. If I had paid half as much, I would have been happy, but at these prices ($100/person including wine) I expect perfection."

"Great place to eat out. All the dishes were excellent, and great to see local Long Valley cheese on offer. Only downside was slightly long period to be asked for drinks after being seated, and then have this compounded by being served a glass of prosecco that was flat - it wasn't that busy that server didn't have time to notice this."

"Blue Morel has a diverse and creative menu that combines many culinary influences into unique and delicious dishes. Wine list is excellent, but I thought it was a bit on the pricey side. They also offer a menu of specialty cocktails. The private dining room looks very inviting. Definitely a new addition to the favorite list."

"Our dinner at Blue Morel was most enjoyable serving some of the freshest and tastiest seafood I have ever had. The restaurant hosts a moderate upscale decor allows for casual and dessier atire. The dining room is split in levels that allowed for intimate conversation and dining. Our waiter was Fabian and he was most friendly and attentive and was most knowledgable of the entire menu. For starters we had two rolls from the Sushi menu and added the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare both were outstanding. Notable entrees were the Swordfish and the jumbo lump crabcakes. Both were well portioned and cooked to perfection. For closers we had a selection of cheeses and some of the special Kona Coffee. This restaurant is a keeper and plan frequent returns."

"For a special occasion, this is one of the best restaurants to choose. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, the food is scintillating, vibrant and interesting, and the space is such that despite a full restaurant, you can have a quiet, normal conversation. We will be back!"

"I had a business lunch at Blue Morel. From the first greeting, the experience was excellent. Service was professional. The food was served quickly and every dish was attractive and prepared well. We had five people and five different entrees and everyone was pleased with their choice. It was very easy to have a business conversation as the noise level was very subdued. I'd definitely have a business lunch or dinner there again."

"Good food! Very busy for a Wednesday night, which ended up slowing service a little. Dinner for four with appetizers through dessert and coffee was about two and a half hours. Service people were knowledgable about the menu and attentive to the diners. Reasonable pricing for the excellent food-using a New York pricing scale. Overall, a very nice dinner."

"Blue Morel's spacious surroundings, excellent menu, flawless service and nice wine list offer an unparalleled dining experience in the area. I strongly recommend the Merguez meatball (appetizer) as well as the yellow fin tuna (entree)."

"This was our first visit to Blue Morel and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The food was delicious and our server was well versed in the menu offerings and professional, outgoing, and attentive. We would definitely recommend the restaurant and already have. I booked our reservation through Open Table which was convenient and I made a special request of a table location which was mentioned and honored upon our arrival, which was very much appreciated. : )"

"Went to an early Saturday evening dinner. Service was prompt and attentive but not intrusive. Crab cake appetizer was seriously all crab- awesome! Octopus was not my favorite.. a little too much of a char flavor for my liking. The sea bass with cinnamon and chili was a WINNER! We had a bottle of wine (prices seemed very reasonable to me) and toasted my mother for her birthday. Clearly one of the servers overheard and at the end of the meal a nice desert was presented- no fanfare- (why I didn't mention it when I made the reservation) but a delightful end to a wonderful meal. I will be back soon."

"Having had 20+ dines at this inviting restaurant over the past 8 years, we continue to be impressed with the consistency of the kitchen in serving inventive items, handsomely presented, by an informed and friendly staff. We typically stop off prior to a weekend in Manhattan, and have always felt that this hotel facility can hold its own against virtually any of the fine places at which we spoil ourselves in the Big Apple. A recent renovation has slightly lightened up the tone (and changed the name), rendering the atmosphere a touch less formal, but this is still an elegant venue, suitable for any special occasion, or just a nice dinner."

"We were absolutely wowed by the interesting menu. There are so many delicious choices to pick from - something for everyone. The ambience is lovely and the staff is extremely warm and welcoming. Our server went above and beyond being so attentive yet not intrusive. One of the few places in Morris County that knows how to make my favorite ginger martini. Although a bit pricey, it was a wonderful evening all around and we cannot wait to return. Go, go,go. You will not be sorry."

"My husband and I enjoyed the most wonderful dinner at Blue Morel Saturday night. With soft lighting and beautiful art work, the ambiance gave a "New York" feel and set the mood for a romantic evening. The food and service equaled the decor. Not often on N.J. menus,my duck confit salad with lentils and frisse was divine;every bite was heaven. My husband's sushi was delicious, too. I had a hard time choosing from the many interesting entrees, but we both had the highly recommended crab cakes. They were outstanding, complimented by a light, delicate horseradish sauce. Dessert was beyond! The chocolate bread pudding melted in our mouths. Fabulous! Service was great: nicely timed and unobtrusive. What a perfect spot to spend a memorable evening!"

"We live in town and usually go to blue morel and sit at the bar for dinner and drinks. We found out that they did brunch and wanted to try it. So we did and we will return to do brunch. It was fantastic! They do a buffet brunch which I was a little skeptical about, but I have to say the options were outstanding. We couldn't help but to go up for more. Truly a great spot for a Sunday brunch."

"Dining at Blue Morel was a very pleasant surprise. I made the reservation based on my daughters recommendation not knowing what to expect. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the staff well trained and food delicious. The noise level was acceptable allowing for comfortable conversation. No one rushed us and we sat for several hours enjoying the dinner and our friends. It is definitely on my list for a return visit."
