"I got to the restaurant and was amazed how nice the restaurant was!! The noise level was very low making it very easy to hold a conversation. I ordered shrimp étouffée and lobster bisque! The étouffée was perfect and amazing but the lobster bisque was really cold.... Overall, I love the experience and how great the service was!! Literally every time my drink was low it was immediately refill. I am very happy with Rey's and will return!!"

"We were really hoping we would like Rey's...but, sadly, we didn't. We ordered appetizers and salads. We got the crabcakes and seared tuna and two salads. The salads were served first. Mine had a lot of brown lettuce...my husbands - a different salad- was fine. The server asked if everything was okay. I said there was brown lettuce but it was okay. He asked if I wanted to send it back but I said no. I should have though. The crabcakes tasted like something you would buy in the frozen food section of Costco and the seared tuna was not a nice red color but drab and unappealing. We silently paid the bill - which was around $60 with two glasses of wine...and left. There was nothing innovative or exciting about the menu."

"6:30 PM Saturday evening dinner reservation - birthday celebration. We had a nice booth and the dining room has excellent ambiance. Our server was attentive and friendly. The calamari appetizer was VERY good but served on a plate that featured a number of finger prints - should have been shined up before service. Spinach salad was also very good but the bacon dressing would have been better if served warm - not cool. Rib eye steak was excellent - quite a good cut and nicely prepared - served hot. I was a bit disappointed the waiter did not offer cracked pepper for the steak. We also had a nice martini, perfectly shaken at the table and served very cold. With more attention to detail - the dinner would have been perfect."

"We had a wonderful time at Rey's Saturday night. It was a romantic night out, away from the kids for an evening. Looking to have a wonderful time and it was well worth the visit. The atmosphere was very nice. The waiter, Scott, very professional. The prices were to be expected. The owner was present and very friendly. I loved how he was hands on with helping his staff. "Valentines day had a limited menus so we didn't get to see their full menu. Going back so we can experience the "normal" feel of the restaurant. So glad we had reservations. Our wait staff was friendly, knowledgable and we didn't feel rushed. When you spend that kind of money for a meal that is the last thing you want."

"Drove from New Bern , NC 2 1/2 hours to dine there on Valentines Day, with a first time date with a beautiful Lady. Was extremely pleased with both. This was only my second time dining at such a fine Restaurant, and Rey's blew the other one away, I felt like we were the most important patrons that night. We will be back again and again, and with the same Lady. I had the best Rib eye i have ever tasted and she loved the Bourbon Pork Chops. Servings were good portions, everything was explained and they kept the bread crumbs off or table. Everyone was great I will be back and soon.

"We enjoyed a great meal (filet & lobster tail)that was prepared perfectly. Being Valentine's Day I did not have to ask my wife where she wanted to enjoy the evening as Rey's is at the top of her list when she wants a special meal at a special place. The staff is great (wife was presented a red rose) and our waiter Scott was attentive to our needs in a most timely way. Rey was also visiting with the patrons and checking on things as well."

"This was the second time we've eaten at Rey's, as was with the first time it was excellent. The waiter was very nice and available with whatever we'd ask for. I had the 16oz. Ribeye and my wife had the salmon. The steak and fish were cooked perfectly. Jason our server was very accommodating. I'll definitely come back again."

"We made reservations for this restaurant over a month in advance and still had to wait a half an hour for a table. This was also on Valentine's Day so I assume they over book. Sadly because of the extra wait time we did not make our movie and I could not get a refund on the pre-bought tickets.
The waiter was wonderful but the food was not that special. It all felt very "out of a box". The best part of the meal was the goat cheese on the salad. The dressing and sauces all seemed to not have been made in house and stored for a very long time. Definitely not something I would expect at this price.
The food and atmosphere seemed very much for very old people that like very bland food.
I will not be going to this place again."

"i see rey's as an angus barn alternative with slightly better service. the 2 of us had ribeyes with mashed and sauteed spinach. a bottle of malbec and a couple appetizers. the tab was just under $200 and well worth it. the service exemplary and the seating superb. to think that we did this for val-day with an online reservation! the family style servings separate this restaurant from the also-rans. sullivan's can't hold a candle.
the "barn" has their old raleigh constituents while rey's is a bit more contemporary, with a better atmosphere and service."

"seated a full hour late for our reservation. Salad and appetizers came out all at the same time. Server was very good, and we enjoyed the wine. Prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants of this caliber, but the quality of the food and overall experience was just ok."
