"Mr.Chow is a beautiful spot in Miami, with a great acces point for the beach for a walk after a few cocktails or glasses of champagne. Unfortunately the food did not impress. We started with vegetarian lettuce wraps, which at $20 included a third of a head of iceberg lettuce and a small saucer of highly salted chopped vegetables with some sauce on the side. We also got some vegetarian pot stickers, which had a spinach filling with a mushy texture, not resembling that of our favorite Chinatown staple. The drunken fish entree consisted of a few small bites of fish, again, loaded with salt and the tofu casserole, with fried puffs of tofu with an unpleasant texture. The service was excellent and the ambiance was nice."

"I hadn't been to Mr. Chow for a bit, but decided to go back to bring back some special memories. The food is still excellent. I love the portions and the fresh flavors. The prawns with walnuts and the poached sea bass were out of this world.
The service was a little lackluster, and being Miami the 20% tip is already added on (even for a $200 bottle of wine).
I would definitely go back, even though it's older for South Beach standards and not the "latest" restaurant to be at. Delicious!"

"Will never return. I ignored the advice on Yelp and went to Mr. Chow with my family because of the convenience factor as we were staying at the W. What a mistake. As others have mentioned, the waiters were very aggressive and looked for our order within 5 minutes of arriving. When we didn't take their recommendation they virtually ignored us and we waited 40 minutes for the main course. The noise level was unbearable and it is clear they cater to their regular local crowd to the detriment of visitors. Total bill was $334 inclusive of the 18% service charge and included several errors like doubling up on the number of side dishes (no rice is served with the meal, $6.50 a portion). Food was mediocre."

"We waited 45 mind after our scheduled reservation which we sorta expected after reading the reviews. We asked the hostessHow long the wait would be and she said 10-20 min. The bar was filled with guests waiting for their reservation. The food was terrible! I don't understand what the hype is all about. We ate at the Beverly Hills location and thought we would give it a second chance, big mistake. We asked our waiter to recommend a few entrees to us and he couldn't, he literally just described each dish and couldn't recommend one over the other. He was very arrogant and rude. I would never go back!"

"Excellent food and decor, somewhat over-priced but given the general competitive environment in the area probably not too out of line with the competition. The one down side was rather over bearing service providers who seemed incapable of listening and responding to questions asked and wanted to impose their views on us as well as rush us through the courses as quickly as possible. That was extremely aggravating. However the food quality, comfort and decor made up for this and made the evening excellent overall."

"We were coming specially for the beijing duck, but it is not availlable for 2 persons unless you order a whole duck and they charge you for 3 persons. Service is good but nothing exceptionnal. I hate when every two minutes the boss boy comes to refill your glass of sparkling water and when the bottle is empty ask you if you want another one.... The food is good but nothing exceptionnal, and certainly not justifying the price. The restaurant is nice and the deco modern. It makes the noise level pretty high. We had one of the chef coming out of the kitchen to demonstrate how he makes chinese noodles. Impressive technique and fun to watch if you are close enough. The check was hefty and they take the liberty to include the gratuity directly."

"My party of 4 had a 9pm reservation and arrived early but was kept waiting more than 45 minutes for a table. There were several large groups which made the dining room seem very crowded and it was hard to get to and from our table -- it seemed like ever time we moved our chair even a little bit we hit another diner. The food was good -- especially considering there are few asian options in Miami -- but is overpriced. Set your expectations before going."

"Worse service I have ever had anywhere. We arrived on time for our 10 pm reservation and were told to go to bar. Did not sit down until 10:20 pm. Waited 10 minutes for waiter to appear and another 15 min for the bottle of wine we ordered. Ordered when we got wine and then waited another 30 minutes for food which was very good but definitely not worth the wait. Not a plesant experience after traveling all day."
