Amp 150 is a 200-seat restaurant and bar with an open casual feel playing up-beat rock and roll and serving tasty selections all priced under $20. For chef Dean, being "free" is a given and a way of life, not a marketing tool. With a farm to table approach for over 20 years in his restaurants, chef Max has spent his life exemplifying how ingredients define the experience.
"It was in need of a menu that offers more gluten, dairy free items. They advertise to have these, but the menu is not helpful in showing which items you can eat. Need more transparency in what ingredients are used; especially which ones are organic! I am willing to pay more for organic - but the menu didn't show speficially what items were. It was pricey for the quantity, but great service and the food was very good!"

"Coconut mussels with broth and rabbit spaetzle were outstanding. Walleye dish was a disappointment. Clam strips were a little hum drum for this menu. Coconut jumbo shrimp with apple kimchee slaw and coconut rice was quite good though the shrimp (3 jumbo for $21) were cooked a little too long. Pork sandwich was enjoyed but maybe you can bump up the price by a dollar and include the fries on the big plate and still call it a Large Bite. Sandwich was served on a big plate. Desserts were enjoyed by two dining partners: ice cream and chocolate mousse. Nothing to write home about. Lots to choose from on this menu. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely come back for those mussels!"

"Overall it was a great experience. The panna cotta stole the show! We tried a good portion of items apps, sm plates and large plates. Everything was well thought out, the plating was nice and the portions were appropriate. My only complaint was there needed to be a bit more sauce with the short rib and the shrimp were about a minute overdone. This will not keep me from returning, it was a wonderful meal."

"Interesting menu in that "farm to table" mentality exists. Three very different meals chosen - a salad and burger for one, chicken soup (rated as excellent) and salad the second, and fish with a side of broccolini the third. Requested they go light on the chili pepper for the broccolini - but I believe that didn't happen. I was able to tolerate the heat and liked the fact that this particular side was available. Portion size is small but adequate so that you don't feel stuffed at the end of the meal. No bread is served which also helps patrons not fill up on carbs."

"We really appreciate and enjoy the chef's efforts to use locaally raised foods. Everything was delicious. We tried several differnt things from all parts of the menu. We liked our wine selections and the bartender did a great job on our martinis. We will definately return."

"Who would know that a hotel restaurant could be so good. Unpretentious and comfortable with a great value for my dollar, I was much impressed. We will return, even from the east side."

"Awesome menu, food was delicious and service was very friendly & attentive. Drove two hours to have dinner with a friend visiting from the west coast and it was worth the drive."

"Great menu, changes very often, but the regular GRETS are always there. The mussels appetizer fantastic recommend to anyone. Was there on a night when they were short in bread and butter? a Friday? Really! Struck a cord but will try again because its normally right on with all needs"

"We have dined at AMP 150 on numerous occasions and have NEVER been disappointed. Susan was our server and was quite attentive without being overbearing. The food was outstanding. We brought another couple with us to introduce them to the restaurant and they were quite impressed. I wasn't worried. AMP 150 is always a good spot."

"There were a lot of kids running around in the lobby and it was very loud. The acoustics in the room we had the Take a Dive dinner were very loud. I've eaten at Amp before when it was quieter and enjoyed the experience more. I thought the wine pairings were very good. One of my fish courses was not hot enough -- it was barely warm. I have recommended Amp based on my prior experiences and will continue to recommend it. I didn't especially care for the ambiance in the separate room; however, I like the main dining room -- especially the booths."

"AMP150 has fantastic food and, if not for the rather less appealing hotel bar ambiance, would be close to perfect. Lots of good food choices for both carnivores and herbivores, great craft beer list, and great service. The bacon double cheese burger is wonderful, as are the sea salt fries with spicy aioli."

"Food was really really good. Service was great but she big time sold the Brussels sprouts and then never brought them. But that isn't enough to keep me from going back"

"Just ok for me. It seems like a good place for travelers since it's in a hotel or for a special event. I have a friend who loved the food but I thought it was very bland."

"AMP 150 is a place I'm happy to have found. The service is great, the food is exceptional, and the use of local and sustainable foods adds a great aspect to the already superior dining experience. Tucked away in an unlikely location, this gem is well worth your time."

"Had the Valentine's special for two. It was just okay and not worth the $100 price. Rock Lobster Ravioli app was pretty good. Steaks were overdone and the side was a little cold. Chocolate Trio dessert was delicious.
Having said that, it looked like the dishes off the regular menu and the tasting courses were probably much better. I would go back and try it again for that reason.
The open view of the Marriott lobby is a little off-putting, especially as I don't equate AMP as a typical hotel type restaurant.
Our server was great and from what I could tell, most of the servers were and all seemed knowledgeable about the food.
The hostess was a little gruff as we had arrived about 20 minutes early and she made a point of telling"

"Delicious, high quality food as usual. The chef is wonderful. However, the portions were a bit smaller than usual, (maybe because it was Valentine's Day). Service was very good considering how busy it was on Valentine's Day. I love the fact that you try to use local ingredients whenever possible."

"My fiance and I had been here 2 years prior and were thoroughly impressed. Not so much this time. We came for Valentines Day and the food was pretty good, with the exception of the slimy spinach salad we had as part of the special Vday menu. The topping on the cake for us, however, was not necessarily a lack of overall quality of the food, but the price you pay for such terrible service. For $180 I expect a waitress to be attentive, explain the meal, come back to the table more than a couple times. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Go downtown or to Tremont if you are willing to pay for a high-quality restaurants experience."

"We went for valentine's day, enjoyed the food, but didn't realize how open the restaurant was to the lobby of the hotel. It was honestly a little weird at first... Our server was good although the person that seated us was a little "rough"... Overall, I would be willing to try it again, but with so many excellent restaurants in the Cleveland area, this one doesn't stand out."

"The food here was great, very imaginative regarding combinations and various spices and flavorings. Portion sizes were just right. Comfortable atmosphere, with moderate background noise. A nice place to stop at for coffee and dessert, say after a movie. We definitely will return."

"Finally made it to try amp150. So glad we did. Put our fate in the chefs' hands to try the 4 course chef's choice. They didn't disappoint. A perfect scallop over grilled brussel sprouts; a phenomenal spinach salad with feta, bacon, and vanilla vinaigrette; and tender sirloin over 2 types of beans and warm arugula made an awesome flavor experience. Then the dessert showed up... Heaven in an ice cream cup, cornbread with feta and raspberry, and chocolate mousse with candied orange zest. Will be back soon!"
