"Most everything we ordered was first rate. But we had also ordered a $19 salad-with-chicken that contained little specialized lettuce (like spinach, arugula, red lettuce, etc.), and nothing extra like olives, artichoke hearts, banana peppers, grated cheese, or even pepper. The dressing was not tossed evenly. The salad was three times as expensive as the caesar salad at Noodles down the street...and only one-third as good. The three or four chicken slices that adorned the top of the salad were indeed delicious!
The main course, drinks from the bar, and sides were exceptional. We described our disappointment and were later rewarded with a dessert and a subtraction from the bill. These were very nice concessions. We tipped well."

"FARMBloomington is a great local restaurant!!
Chef Orr makes excellent use of local ingredients, which he prepares very creatively.

"We've eaten here several time, and the food is good, but the service, while friendly, is not as attentive as you'd expect. We felt forgotten about During the evening and not for the first time. It was a good experience but I'm ready to try something new in Bloomington.
By the way, our server was nice and I don't blame her for the experience. She seemed to have tables throughout the restaurant far from where we sat. Which would more likely be a management problem."

"Farm was recommended to us by several friends who rave about it. The atmosphere is eclectic and entertaining, the service is really good, very attentive. The waitress offered us tasted of any of the wines we were interested in, and came around just the right amount of times. The food was good, but not as special as we had expected. It's slanted toward Southern American cooking."

"Probably the best restaurant I have gone to in Indiana, and that's including downtown Indy places. The food is hearty and much different than a typical trendy spot. The server also brought out samples of 2 non menu items, and the cocktail list is just as exciting as the food menu. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit here."

"Farm offers great food and ambience, most of time I live the food, other times I love it. However, few times I find it more or less like food I can cook home, which makes me think about the prices and some of the foodie pretense of embellished menus. Some very simple foods might seem a bit pricy.
We will still go to farm, but for the most part stick to our usuals."

"While Farm can be pricey, it is completely worth it for multiple reasons. The food is the best I've ever had. I had the crab-stuffed rainbow trout and was able to save half for the next day. The presentation was great as well. This was my first time here and I would recommend it for any foodie. I shared the french fries appetizer with 2 friends - those fries were amazing as well. I will always keep Farm in mind for people visiting me and also believe it is a great "date-night" venue. I look forward to going for brunch for the first time as well. Food, presentation, service extraordinary - very well done!"

"The food was good and the service was good. Our only complaint was it was very loud, even before the live music started. The music was good it was just very difficult for our party of 8 to talk. I think it would have been fine if you were dining with a smaller group. We were just trying to catch up with people we have not seen in a awhile and it was difficult due to the noise level."

"We have dined at Farm several times and always before have had only positive experiences. However, on this (very busy) night we found a few problems. We were seated in what appeared to be an 'overflow' area in a poorly heated area next to the front window (on a very cold night). One of our party ordered mussels; upon arrival they smelled and tasted 'off.' Another of our party ordered duck soup, which was described on the menu as featuring duck breast (or leg-I do not remember). Instead it contained a dumpling filled with duck pate - a dissapointment to the person who ordered it as she does not care for liver. Our inexperienced waiter did his best, but was slow."

"To begin with, they were out of beef and the only white wine on hand was the $11.00 a glass Napa Valley brand. The Southern Indiana fried chicken was WAY over cooked. The side to the Michigan Chicken was dried out and tasteless. We were a party of 6 and not one person enjoyed the meal. The other two entres at the table were the Trout and the Ribeye. The Trout was over cooked and dry and the Ribeye was very, very fatty and favorless. Needless to say we will not be returning. I might be a little more understanding if this was a busy Friday or Saturday night, it was a slow Wednesday night."

"A friend, my daughter, and I recently visited Farm, and had a wonderful experience. It was my friend's first time there and I suggested the Luger Burger, which she ordered as recommended on the menu. We got the Garlic Parm. Fries to start with (my daughter's favorite) and I got the Bison steak medium rare. It was excellent. My daughter ordered off of the children's menu. She had so much fun, and our waitress was very good to her. None if us drink alcohol, but there were plenty of options for us, including Abita Rootbeer, which was delicious! I would return again, suggest it to friends and visitors to Bloomington. Farm is a top notch establishment."

"I don't know that we've ever gone wrong with a meal at FARMBloomington. Most recently we were there for my partner's birthday. We enjoyed one of the seasonal appetizer, blue cheese and bison fritters. We were also brought a tasty amuse bouche of cauliflower salad on the house. For dinner we each had the crab stuffed trout. Delicious! And large enough for leftovers! The one suggestion we might make would be to pair it with a potato or other starchy side. We ordered the marjolaine for a special dessert. The house treated us to homemade salted-chocolate-chip cookie ice cream sandwiches, too! If you imbibe, don't miss one of FARM's special mixed drinks or selection of beers and wine."

"My parents came to visit me in Bloomington and brought me and five of my friends out for dinner. We had a fantastic time. The food was great - we especially enjoyed the flat breads, mussels and the special octopus appetizer. In addition, our waiter was fun and engaging and the restaurant's ambiance is fun and relaxed. We were very happy with the experience."

"Our Sunday brunch was enjoyable. The menu included lots of egg dishes and heartier entrees such as salmon and burgers. The fruit plate was amazing.
Our server was friendly, but unorganized. Couldn't get her to run our credit card at the end.
It was a cold day; we were cold the entire meal--request a table toward the back of the restaurant.
Overall, I always enjoy Farm, but I wish they had more experienced servers or perhaps more servers for the number of tables they have."

"We had another nice meal at The Farm Bloomington. We were happy to see an actual vegetarian entree on the menu (in addition to the vegetable plate, a sandwich, and pizzas). The vegetable plate was a catch-all of sides from the other entrees, so we didn't order it this time. We cobbled together a very nice small-plate meal with lots of starters, sides, salads, a pizza, and the vegetarian entree (a Thai-inspired dish). We love to share, and unlike most places, The Farm's varied menu options allow us to do that. There were servers circulating with small bites "from the chef" and one was vegetarian (mushrooms in puff pastry; lovely). The place was busy, but our server was on top of things and took good care of us."

"We've had two experiences here - both times the food selections have been unique and delicious. The artisan bread was crusty, warm and wonderful with the herbed butter. My daughter's chicken cooked in bacon confit was crispy and moist, the best meal out of the three. My husband's pork chop had a very tasty relish - the chop was cooked perfectly - the plate was clean. We both enjoyed the kale with a hint of lemon. I had the beef brisket - not out of the ordinary, but tender and homey - just what was wanted on a freezing cold day. The hot tea selection is fun. Desserts were excellent - chocolate tart (could make it smaller), butterscotch creme brulee, and a cake that my daughter said was perfect (she wouldn't share any)."

"After having dined at Farm for a special occasion at dinner in the past we thought it would be a great place to take guests visiting from out of town. We wanted to give them a taste of Bloomington but this visit was certainly not an impressive one. Our table was ready upon our arrival but the host seating us had no idea it was for us until a server corrected him. Our server was certainly very friendly and welcoming and was willing to ask questions of the kitchen staff for us. We ordered an appetizer which took some time to come to our table. After placing our order it took 40 minutes for our food! With two very hungry children and guests with us this certainly did not make for a pleasant wait. We will not be visiting again any time soon!!!"
