"we arrived 30 minutes late (had called to let them know) for a 3:30 reservation and we were greeted with great sympathy for the traffic woes. The rest of our party was even later for the same reasons and were greeted in an equally friendly way. The dining room was near empty which kept the noise at a very low level- again great for our celebration. The steak frites were delicious and cooked to order and our vegetarian found a nice choice among the fish entrees. The food was very good and the service was quite attentive, we all found Aquitane to be just fancy enough without being stuffy."

"We went for brunch. The food was very good, but the portions were small. We both got the pre-fix menu so that may have been why the portion size was smaller, but everything tasted really good and the service was great."

"Restaurant was quite busy, even early on a Saturday night. With busy came too much noise and hurried service. Clearly they were trying to turnover the table as quickly as possible. Food was good but not exceptional. It's perfect for a post movie dining experience or a quick dinner after shopping but if you're looking for a leisurely dining experience would go elsewhere."

"This place is OK though if you have actually been to Paris, you will know how faux it is. But, the worst part is that you can ask for a booth or a 4-top when they are not that busy and they still give you a 2-top. OK- not the biggest issue but NO ONE came for those 'reserved' tables. BTW, I had a reservation too - but Ill go to Legal C next time. You should remember the old saying about a bird in the hand..."

"Food is always superb, waitstaff is usually just fair. Not very attentive to table needs, We are very passive diners and patient but it takes forever to get an order placed. And just as long to get your check. The food however does come out in a reasonable amount of time once the order is in!"

"We've been to this restaurant a few times for lunch and decided to try it for dinner. The calamari appetizer was lively and very tasty. The Steak Frites had a nice flavor and I especially enjoyed the Au Gratin potatoes. My wife enjoyed the Sole. Being Mother's Day, we brought the kids. They loved their Steak and Fries and being able to decorate the paper covering the table cloth. Our server was very accommodating, and was attentive without making us feel rushed. All in all, a great experience."

"Went in for a Mother's Day brunch and was quite disappointed. The service was extremely poor, and the food lacked flavor. We waited for quite a while to place an order, and our waitress never came back to check if we needed anything after our food was finally delivered. I would not return."

"We came for a quick dinner before a movie and we were in & out in just under an hour...not at all rushed...and our server was very helpful in making sure we were able to make it out on time. The food was really quite good & beautifully presented, and the drinks weren't watered down (just the right amount of alcohol). It's a nice enough atmosphere that you can go casual with friends or cuddle up for a romantic dinner...a versatile gem in Legacy Place! Definitely recommend...and we will come back for sure!"

"Unfortunately, this location was a disappointment on this particular day. There were 6 of us for lunch at 1 p.m. and the restaurant was not crowded. It took an excessive amount of time to get our food when those around us had ordered, eaten and were gone. The food was good; the waiter was attentive. Have dined at the Brookline location for dinner and it was fabulous so I would say this location should be just as wonderful but maybe we had just a bad day in the kitchen! It happens!"

"This is now the second time in a row I have been to Aquitaine in Dedham where the food has not been up to par. It was just boring. Nothing special. The menu is getting old. I ordered a steak dish that the waiter raved about. Told him specifically how I wanted it cooked. Didn't happen. I would expect more considering the prices. I used to go here all the time. Two times and it's bad is enough for me. I think I will be taking a rest from this establishment."

"For the price you pay, one would expect a lot more. We had ordered brunch items, and it looked pitiful. IHOP presents their dishes better. I ordered the steak and eggs... Steak was cooked fine, but was smaller than a hockey puck. The hash brown were about as average as they could be. Looked liked they came from the grocery store, tasted about the same. It is not worth the money. Better to go to a neighbor restaurant, and get the same, or better food. For their "class" of restaurant, the dishes were shameful. No garnish of any sort. Really looked liked they really could have cared less... Only plus side is that they have paper on the tables, so kids can draw on them."

"Variations on the Traditional Eggs Benedict and both versions that my guest & I had were well done. The poached eggs were very nicely cooked and the hollandaise was ample. The home potatoes were delicious. The bloody mary was excellent as always.
We waited about 10 minutes for our reservation. The place was busy, but we didn’t feel cramped on the bench seats.
My only comment – which isn’t necessarily a negative comment on quantity, but our plate presentation seemed a bit barren…"

"I've been hearing about Aquitaine's great Sunday brunch. Well forget it! the omelet tasted like it had been on warming table for 2 hours and the home fries were burnt. the cinnamon bun was warm and a nice touch but it didn't make up for a mediocre main course. We ordered the prix fixe menu so we paid less, but if a restaurant cuts quality on their prix fixe menu, patrons willnever come back for the more expensive items. Sorry Aquitaine, I can do better elsewhere."

"Warm baguette to start was delicious. Onion soup was very tasty and not too oniony but on the small size for a bowl. Cobb salad was also very good but again could have been larger for the price. Beef bourguignon had a nice flavor and texture. I was told the burger was tasty but why weren't there more fries? The biggest disappointment was the restaurant week menu. The 3 entree choices (fluke, chicken and gnocchi) were bland, unappealing and again, not worth the price...even coupled with an appetizer, dessert and complimentary glass of wine. They should take a lesson from Capital Grille which offers top-notch, full-size regular menu choices for their restaurant week."

"I have eaten here 5-6 times. Each time it is a little less special. The waiter had no experience with the wine list. Zero. Declined to provide any opinion. I should have asked to change tables right there and then. We have previously been given great recommendations & service. Their menu is very steak-centric now. All he knew about it was that we should avoid the steak fritte choices as they were thin and not great. Really? This from their own waiter? I ordered the rib eye which was to come with carmelized shallots and melted blue cheese. The waiter, on his own, had the kitchen put the toppings on the sides. This meant the blue cheese was solid, cold and very unappetizing. You have no opinion on wine but you will change my order?"

"I am a frequent visitor to Aquitaine and always have an enjoyable time. Had brunch on Sunday. The food as always was really good. I knocked a point off of the score though due to my friend's cheeseburger being served well done when she had requested it medium well which is slightly pink. She did enjoy the sandwich and ended up eating the entire thing without telling the waitress about the problem. Our waitress was fantastic! Wish I could remember her name. When we requested French baguette pre-meal, like they normally serve during dinner, she had to tell us that the bread service isn't offered during the brunch/lunch service. She was nice enough though to slip us some freshly made cinnamon buns that were delicious! Good meal!"

"Confit duck leg an breast was tasty...waitress was terrible. Our group all had waited tables for years in high end restaurants so we understand when one is busy. There is a difference however between busy, ignorance, and stupidity. Little things were missing like not bringing ketchup to the table when three people had fries with their meals. Mussels were tasty, small serving, but great to dip bread in. The bread came after 2 requests, finally a food runner brought it to us. The ladies' burgers were very undercooked. Short rib sandwhich was soggy and had very little flavor nesides the horseradish saice. I guess I just wasn't wowed. I would go back but it wouldn't be something I would upset by if I didn't return."

"This restaurant lived up to the promise of its menu and decor. The duck daily special had crispy skin, a moist but well-cooked center, and was a good size portion. The lemon sole was also delicious. We stumbled upon Aquitaine after watching a movie at Legacy Place and were very surprised at the quality of this restaurant in a mall setting. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes."

"Service was very good, waitress was prompt and courteous. The food was Ok to Good but not memorable. The meat was cooked to order and was just right. Portion sizes were fine. Coffee at dessert time was only lukewarm. The ambience was noisy. The view was of the poarking lot but that was to be expected given the location in a shopping area. I would go back but not for a romantic dinner. it is better suited to meet up with friends or after a day of shopping."

"We have been a number of times in the past for lunch, dinners and once for their Sunday brunch. Although service is attentive, food has become just average. Mussels app used to be scrumptious but now lacks flavor (except for salt from the mussels). Steak frites were cooked as ordered, but meat cut was tough. The short rib pasta was lacking sauce, almot too dry and too sweet rather than balanced between savory from rib meat and sweet from too muh onion. We decided not to order dessert."

"Two people at the table were very disappointed in their entree. One for the the roasted salmon because of the seasoning and the special scallops for Valentine's Day had only four scallops for $32 which came to $8 for each scallops. It was not the Coquille St. Jacques in the shell that French restaurants serve. The wait staff and host were great."

"Have been here and the one in Chestnut Hill quite a few times but not in the last few months. When did some of the portions get so small? Specifically the onion soup and the profiteroles. The profiteroles were a joke. I remember them being the size of a medium meatball. Now they're like a large pea...take them off the menu or add more to the plate."
