"I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, service was incredible. Everyone wished her a happy birthday including the hostess. She was very happy and very surprised. Our table was covered with happy birthday confetti- a nice touch. The food was incredible and our waitress was friendly and personable. I couldn't be happier with how the evening went. "Consistent food. Out of all the Ruth's Chris restaurants in the DMV area, the Fairfax locations ALWAYS has the best service down to each employee. On this particular occasion, we were celebrating two birthdays, two anniversaries and a pregnancy, and each event was remembered by our server. We were not there for any singing or special treats, just a special meal with good service, and that is what we got. Thank you."

"We were there for our anniversary and were pleased with the entire experience. Our waiter was very helpful, but not intrusive. The wine list was a book! Although everything is ala carte, the side portions are all large enough to be shared. We both had the rib eye and both were cooked the way we asked for them to be. We had the stuffed mushrooms to start, the baked potato and broccoli for sides and the banana cream pie for dessert. The pie was also large enough to share, but we chose not to. It is very expensive, but if you skip the wine, it is only expensive. If you truly love steak, this is the place."

"Ruth's Chris is a steakhouse chain that can be hit or miss. Some locations are outstanding and some never seem to be better than average. At their price level, they need to be outstanding all the time. Fortunately, the Fairfax location is one of their outstanding locations. Perfectly prepared foods, excellent service, and friendly staff make this a lovely place to dine. Make sure you try the Sweet-Potato Pie with Pecan topping - Simply amazing!!!"

"Despite their claim that steaks come to you on a sizzling hot plate the filet for me came out less than sizzling and overcooked. They did prepare a new steak which I ate after everyone in my party had finished. Medium Rare should not be hard to cook. The other steaks were also slightly over cooked. Not the best experience I have had a Ruth's Chris. I was underwhelmed."

"My steak and my husbands were full of grisel and fat, they took mine off the bill. Our daughter and grand daughters were great. We felt that we were rushed through dinner, the tables are so small. We had been to Ruth's Chris years ago, at that time it was the place to go. The restaurant has really fallen they enlarged the bar area, and really take care of that venue. We will not go back nor will we recommend it. We went there to celebrate my birthday. They did bring me out a wonderful dessert. Both my husband and I feel those steaks should of never left the kitchen. We had strips, the kids had filets. The taste was awesome but you couldn't chew and I have all my own teeth."

"The food was just okay. The $50, yes $50, cowboy ribeye was not done as I had requested it and had too much gristle or waste.The servers would not let us alone. With two servers it was like stereo. Each separately asked us the same questions and interrupted our conversations with several unnecessary questions. Dishes for one of our party were taken before other members were finished. Of the "fine" restaurants I frequent, this one has very predatory wine pricing which is now matched by the predatory food pricing. I'll not come back - even if I enjoyed a corporate expense account."

"We had a wonderful meal Saturday night. The filet was fantastic; it needed no garnish/sauce it was so good. Tender beyond belief. The salmon, salad and baked potato were delicious too. But the filet was the star.
The only thing I could have done without was the green bean casserole; the beans were good but the fried onion topping was greasy. Didn't eat 'em (the onions).
Service was tops; friendly and professional. We were not rushed.
Now my husband is required to take me here once a year, poor guy. ;)"

"I have been to several Ruth's Chris Restauarants and they can vary in quality. The service is almost always excellent (except for the one in Bethesda, MD).
This particular Ruth's Chris in Fairfax near Fair Oaks Mall is one of the better restaurants with excellent food.
The one in Tysons corner is usually excellent, with occassional lapses. The one in Alexandria is not good. The one in Baltimore near the Inner Harbor is excellent."

"I have to laugh when I consider the prices. What fools we are sometimes. That said, the food was prepared perfectly, and the generous portions looked beautiful and tasted delicious. I was hoping to find a craft beer menu as complete as the wine menu, but sadly they offer just one craft brew. Sad for me, but rather embarrassing for Ruth's Chris I should think.

"Overall, Ruth's Chris made for an excellent date night. The food and service were wonderful, as is to be expected. The only downside of our evening, and this is nitpicking a bit, was when we arrived on time for our reservation but the table wasn't ready. We were encouraged to go into the bar and they would come get us. Well after 30 minutes, no one came to get us. Just as I was about to go to the hostess to check, they sent someone over. (I believe they saw me looking that way.) The hostess said that they had been "looking for us." Well, we were right in the bar where they sent us. In the end, it was nice to have a drink before dinner in the lively bar area, but just a little off-putting that they couldn't find us."

"This was our first time to any Ruth's Chris and it was fantastic. We went for Valentine's Day and got their Steak and Lobster special. The entire experience was great, and our waiter Jose was great. He was knowledgeable of the menu and wines, and checked up on us at perfect intervals. My only regret is that I waited so long to go there!"

"I'd maybe consider trying this place again outside of restaurant week, but this Ruth's Chris is not nearly as nice as the one in Crystal City. If I'm going to pay up the wazoo for a fancy meal, Ruth's Chris in Fairfax is not the place to go. My husband and I ordered off the "Ruth's Classics" menu, which is around $55 for a 3-course meal. I ordered my filet medium rare -- it came out as rare as it could get. I had to send it back it was so bad. My husband ordered the mashed potatoes -- they came out cold and had clearly been sitting a while. The kitchen was not overwhelmed, as it was only 5:30 on a Saturday night. Considering that we spent nearly $200 (including wine and tip), this place is not worth it."

"I chose the Ruth's Classic menu, which included soup, an entree, a personal side and a dessert. My sausage and kale soup was delicious and light, although there were no more than six small pieces of sausage. My 8oz filet, cooked perfectly to medium and served without butter as I requested was good, but not great; I have had better steak elsewhere, and in my opinion, not worth what I paid. The brussel sprouts were fantastic (served with bacon mixed in). My dessert, a duo of the chocolate peanut butter cake, and berries with cream, was heavenly and the perfect size; however, my friend's bread pudding was far superior. Overall, it was a great dining experience, but not worth the pricetag of the food, and I don't expect to return soon."

"Based on a couple bad experiences at the Tysons location, I was prepared to stop patronizing Ruth's Chris altogether. It was Restaurant Week and we didn't feel like driving too far so we decided to give the Fairfax Corner Ruth's a shot... and I'm glad we did. The ambiance was far superior to Tysons and so was the service. Friendly hostesses, wait staff and the food was really good! With the exception of the over-saturated Caesar Salads and the bland/watery mashed potatoes, everything else was great. The Stuffed Mushrooms are a favorite and the Mixed Grill offering (Chicken, Steak, Crab cake) was really tasty as was the fillet. Overall a very good Experience"
