"Some years since I last visited a RCSH and it has not got the same cache. Although the steaks are still great the rest is almost ordinary. Table service is good, the bread pointless and for some reason they don't offer English mustard - only French rubbish. Not the Ritz Carlton of course, but they always can come up with a mustard of your choice at a steak price no more expensive than RCSH
I will probably visit another establishment again to see if it was just an off night in Washington before looking at other options"

"My husband and I were in DC so for Mothers Day we found something nearby. Ruth's Chris was perfect, we usually enjoy the quiet great service. We did not receive it on Mother's Day. We were seated right next to the door where the public comes in to be seated. The noise level was horrible. I looked around and there were plenty of tables available through the restaurant. When the server arrived she spoke English so badly I had to excuse myself several times to find out what she was asking. The service was so slow we were annoyed, there were other children at next table who were loud and behaving badly small children crying and parents not reacting to resolve the problem.
I didn't have a great dinner experience and would never go back."

"We frequent this location, but what made this time so great was the service. Especially our waiter Stephen. He was the most gracious and pleasant waiter we've had in a long time. When you see people enjoying their jobs, it somehow makes your mood better. Stephen did just that. Kudos to him and the other staff who made our night so pleasing."

"Took my 18 year old grandson to this restaurant prior to a Capitals game. It was his birthday celebration and the restaurant staff each acknowledged that. This is a great location near Verizon Center. We shared a calamaria appetizer which was very good. Then we moved on to the NY strip steaks. Cooked to perfection, very tender and just tasted great. Steak sauce would be an insult to this steak.
The restaurant is pricey but it's a great treat for a special occassion."

"I met my uncle for dinner and the atmosphere was very private and conducive for conversations. However, as a mother, I would take my toddlers here as the atmosphere was very friendly and tables are well spaced. If your young children love steak, they will enjoy this restaurant. However, I do not think they have a children's menu, but they do have items that are considered kid-friendly on the a la carte menu (i.e. the side dishes)."

"Ruth's Chris provides a top notch consistent dining experience. It's well worth the price of admission. This is my favorite restaurant so I may have a biased opinion. Waiters and waitresses are always professional and courteous and the food is always exquisite. The Ruth's Classics are probably the best bang for your buck. It's a three course meal for a very reasonable price. Recommended items: Sweet Potato Souffle, Any cut steak with the blue cheese crust, the bread, and the dessert menu."

"Hi. Normally I recieve outstanding service when I dine there. However, it always seems that whenever there are special events (Restaurant week) or in this case NCAA tournament, the restaurant doesn't seem to do well in pressure situations. Even though I was about 5 minutes late, I still had to wait 35 minutes for a table. Not sure why as the restaurant wasn't really full, save for the bar. Just a tip they might want to plan to have more staff during possible busy periods. Will think long and hard again before I go.."

"Soooooo...This was a date night...dinner and a play thereafter! Dinner first...I was so hungry...the type of hungry where you don't eat ALL DAY because you KNOW you're going out that evening...and you wanna have room to let that inner pigglet shine through...yeah...it was serious! LOL! My date hadn't dined at RC before...and I didn't tell him where we were going...cute right!!!! So we get there...he's excited...we run into Amare Stoudemire...fat chance...and proceed to go eat! We've ordered and are sipping on cocktails when outta no where...kaaaa-splat...the waiter drops a tray of stem ware on my boo! It was just water! LOL! RC was great! The apologized a million times and gave us dessert! Water and all...we still had a ball!!!"

"If this had been our first visit to a Ruth's Chris , then we would not have visited any other. The service at that restaurant was absolutely horrendous. We requested a medium steak and got a dry, well done steak. We looked around for our waiter and he was at the bar mixing drinks so we decided not to send the steak back. We never got to order a second glass of wine because the waiter never came near our us until near the end the meal. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the steak and his response was he'd notify the chef. At that point, you would expected the chef or the maitre d to come to our table but this never happened. No one came to ask about dessert--we just sat there with empty plates and glasses."

"This is the second time coming to the same RC's steak house. There is definitely one word I can sum up my experience (both of which were not terrible, but also not "wow" either): consistent.
The span was about 2 years from the first visit to the recent visit. The food was consistent in such that I remember exactly how everything tasted and how the menu itself rarely changed. If you like to have your steak not aged, but a typical USDA cut with just some salt, pepper, and hot butter served over it, this is all you are going to get. Service was also consistent, not overly tentative to where it's interruptive to having a nice conversation during dinner, but there was a point where my glass of water did run dry. Take it for what it's worth"

"Our Office decided to treat ourselves to dinner. We needed a nice location which was accessable for us all. What we found was a fantastic dining experience. We started with drinks, moved to dinner all in one location. Something special was on the menu for everyone, no matter your taste preference. We absolutely loved the food. "This was my first time visiting Ruth's Chris Steak House - and what a better way of taking advantage of this experience than at DC's Restaurant week. First to comment, they were very prompt with the scheduling of the reservations, the atmosphere was very impressive and our Maitre D was very patient and extremely knowledgeable of the various items on the menu list.
I would highly recommend Ruth's Chris Steakhouse to any of my friends and or work associates."

"RC is pretty predictable which is a good thing. The salad was great, steak was fabulous, sides good as always but the cheesecake was a little too dense and some of the diners around us were a little sketchy (I'm pretty sure the table next to us was high and one of the girls had her underwear bunched up coming out the back of her jeans)"

"The service at this Ruth's was just not up to Ruth's Chris standard. For this type of restaurant you expect a certain level of service and attentiveness and it was just not present. The food was good and there were more than enough waiters and staff, but they were just not doing their job. I would not return to this particular Ruth's Chris, the one in Baltimore or Bethesda is much better."

"We had medium rare 8 oz fillet but 1 with chesse was MEDIUM ro MEDIUM Well BUT TOOK SO LONG TO GET OUR STEAK SO WE DIDN'T SEND IT BACK ..WE SHOULD HAVE. Salad could do without Iceburg with spring mix too hard to pick up with folk when you are picking up spring mis which doesn't require stabbibg like iceburg.Rasberry sorbet was not good at all and keylime cheesecake is MISSING KEYLIME FLAVOR especially after rich steak little more acid will help but not overly sweet was great. The waiters drove us crazy buy coming over to ask several times to take our plates I WAS STILL EATING AND THEY WANTED TO TAKE MY PLATE.Steak stayed hot for long time and spinach was very very good. If you cans serve REAL BUTTER with Bread."

"Sides were horrible...including the Au Gratin. I suspect the had run out of cheese and started using swiss as that was the pimary flavor. the potatoes were also not thouroughly cooked. Wedge salad had only one strip of crumbled bacon and nonexsistent dressing but a pound of cheese. this was my first visit to. Ryth's Chris and aside from the steak (which was excellent) I was disappointed by the visit. The seated everyone in clumps together which was odd in a very open restaraunt. i am willing to give the chain another try just not downtown dc. nothing impressive whatsoever."
