"Ruth's remains an excellent "expense account" style steakhouse. $30+ steaks with ala carte sides and salads. The food is very good but not cheap. We were annoyed only by our server who tried several times to "super size" our meal with up-charged items. I suspect there was an employee promotion on selling certain bottles of wine. She asked us twice if we wanted to consider a bottle of wine off of the manger's special list."

"AM NOT HAPPY.....WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO RUTH CHRIS FOR 8 YEARS ON OUR ANNIVERSARY AS A TRADITION! WE HAVE ALWAYS GONE TO PHILADELPHIA, BUT WAS VISITING FRIENDS IN DC SO WE TRIED THAT ONE. "We made reservations online, we arrived in a timely manner and were escorted to our table. The service, attitude, and overall professionalism was excellent. The food was magnificent. We both enjoyed the 12 oz stake & lobster. The stake nice and tender, the lobster very delicious. Dessert was the best, apple pie & ice cream a meal in it's self, my favorite!
PS: @ the end of our Mother's Day dinner, the waiter gave my wife the most beautiful long stem rose, unbelievable!"

"Ruth Chris is one of my top 5 restaurants, so my fiance took me there for Mother's Day and we both got the Trio dinner, it was very good, and we drank a whole bottle of "yellow label" champagne. Our waiter was very attentive and that's what we love about this establishment. (besides the food of course)"

"I was disappointed with the service. After placing the order, the waiter came out with the food for my compansion. My order did not come out. The waiter that took my order eventally come over and asked where was my food. He checked and found out that the other server had dropped the food but he did not tell me. My compansion ate alone while I waited for my food. I ended up taking the food home as it came after. Also the final bill did not list the drink but it was included in the bill. I had to call the manager to see why the bill was not adding up. That when he told me the drink was not listed on the bill but had been charged. The appetizer was good and only partically made up for the errors of Ruth Chris Conn Ave."

"You know what to expect when going to Ruth's Chris and this one didn't diappoint. We got a great table at the window to people watch. One of the rooms is very dark with no windows. I would ask for the windowed room that we had if you want a bit more ambiance. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Waitstaff attentive."

"Not a lot of negative thoughts after last night's visit to Ruth's Chris on Connecticut Avenue NW in DC. We were there for our friend's 56th birthday celebration. I originally had made a reservation for four of us, but we had a last minute addition to our group so I called the restaurant and my ad-hoc request was promptly accommodated. The bread put on the table was very tasty and incredibly crispy. We shared the crab-stuffed mushrooms, ahi tuna, and calamari appetizers. The calamari was simply stellar. We had both versions of the ribeye, NY strip, and my favorite - filet mignon. We all loved our entrees! Drinks were re/filled quickly and often. The space is very interesting - cozy and inviting, try to sit upstairs!"

I reminded the waiter that we expected the wine, not an entree before finishing our starters.
Another waiter came and started to explain the timetable of the kitchen, instead of bringing us the wine.

"Ruth’s Chris has been doing steak correctly for many years. This is our favorite steak chain. And this one did not let us down. The steaks were cooked correctly and the flavor was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was a bit cave-like, we were in a back room, but it was intimate and fairly quiet. My wife does not really drink wine so I was thrilled to find silver oak by the glass on the wine menu. The side dishes were also very good. We had the au gratin potatoes that had a very nice cheesy flavor. The spinach was excellent and overall I’d rate the food highly. Would recommend."

"Unfortunately, well below other Ruth Chris' experiences I had. 2 of 4 entrees were not cooked according to order, 2/4 entrees missed shrimp (brought afterwards after complaint). Waiter managed to pour water and wine first to all males at table, then finally to female present. Very amateurish. Not a place you want to spend the money you have to spend for steak dinners...."

"As always the food was outstanding service was not so good this night.The waiter was rude and wasn't very happy to be serving us he rushed us to order said he would be back to bring bread to the table never came back with it when our drinks were brought out i asked about the beard and the person other then our waiter said oh let me get you some.Another waiter came back other then out waiter again and said were you asking for bread oh we are out been out for over an hour.Our waiter never came back to state this at all.It really wasn't even about the bread at all I but for the waiter to never come back to the table until after we were finished eating dinner was unacceptable. No refill on water no asking if we needed anything or another drink"

"My food was awesome. I actually have never been to Ruth's Chris prior to this past weekend and I must say I was pretty impressed. Were it not for Resturant week I would have never considered eatting there. What most impressed me was the incredible value for the items on the resturant week menu. The food was simply delicious... starting with my first course through my fantastic dessert. I usually go to Morton's but I can safely say I'll be returning to Ruth's Chris again and again.

"Lesson learned - we will not go back during restaurant week given the chaotic and loud atmosphere and rushed meal. We had forgotten it was restaurant week and were ordering off the regular menu but still were treated like part of the assembly line. Unlikely we'll go back at all, given the number of better options in the city. Steak was okay - not bad, but definitely not memorable, and certainly not the caliber I expect at a higher end steak house. The sides (potatoes au gratin and asparagus) were very lackluster and only warm. In general the meal felt very rushed (my husband's shrimp arrived before our martinis, and the steak came so quickly afterward there was no time to order any wine.) Disappointing way to start the weekend."

"We had very bad service. The server mad a mistake when processing my friends table. He accidentally charged her for her bill and mine. We pointed out the mistake and he returned the tab 20 mins later and he had charged my friends card two more times with the wrong charges. When we tried to explain the mistake, he got frustrated and became rude. The manager said my friend would not be double charged but my friend's account was double charged. When we returned to discuss the issue, the manager ignored us and walked away when we came in the door. The general manager had to take care of the issue."

"As always, the food was excellent and the noise level and atmosphere was very nice. However, we did not receive any bread until we asked explicitly for it. We then had to ask twice for butter to go with the bread. While the waitress was fine when we had her attention, it seemed quite difficult to get her attention. She seemed to be near the door talking with other wait staff rather than paying attention to guests. While it did not impair the quality or our satisfaction with the meal, this is not what we expect from Ruth's Chris."

"All food was cooked as requested. Crab cake was very good. Everything was drowning in butter, which is great for many people - just too much for me. Service was gracious from arrival to leaving, with the exception of the bar tender, who was not particularly friendly or responsive (she was very busy, true, but a smile once in a while would have helped!) Very noisy in the bar - a bit better in the restaurant."
