"I still believe that Ruth's Chris has some of the best steaks around... There's something about that sizzling butter that drenches the steak and makes it oh-so-good... I had the Cowboy Ribeye, and didn't regret a minute of it. Go and spend your money there, and you won't regret it either."

"Food was good, but service was unacceptable, especially at this high pricepoint. Appetizer was delivered, but we didn't have any plates. At one point a waiter rushed by and said "Oh good, your mushrooms are here" but didn't notice we didn't have plates and didn't pause long enough for us to ask for plates. I finally got up and found someone in the next room who brought us plates. Wine was empty early, but could never find anyone to order more from. The food was delicious, but there are other steak houses that will get my money in the future."

"Made reservation for Valentines Day. Valet parking was great, especially with snow on the ground. Seated promptly. The waiter was great and explained everything in detailed and answered any questions we had. The food was very good, definitely met expectations. Would absolutely go back."

"What can I say - it's Ruth's Chris. Hands-down they serve up the best calamari I've ever tasted! It is well-seasoned, with a crispy crust - the squid itself is tender on the inside; they drizzle it with some type of Asian-inspired sauce and serve it up with red bell peppers - delicious! I had the herb stuffed chicken which was well-cooked and seasoned, juicy and delicious. For the side the creamed spinach au gratin - which was good enough to eat alone. I had the chocolate cake for dessert -I wasn't 100% impressed but the entire meal truly was splendid and I HIGHLY recommend it."

"I really enjoyed my experience at Ruth Chris. Although the food was not as good as I remembered, the staff was extremely friendly and patience. There were 8 people in our party. Although one couple was late, we were still seated and treated as guests. The waiter took all of our orders at once and got nothing wrong! The food arrived in a timely fashion and as we finished, the next course arrived. This restaurant provides an awesome ambiance and is a place where one can go and just eat, laugh and have fun! We will definitely be returning!"

"This was our 2nd restaurant visit during DC Restaurant week and it was by far the best experience we'd had! The menu selection was fantastic, food was delicious, nice wine list and excellent service (Barbara) made the evening perfect! We had a 7:00 reservation and every table was full when we were seated yet the atmosphere was friendly and relaxing! I would highly recommend Ruth Chris to family and friends! Thank you to all for making it an enjoyable evening out with our daughter and son-in-law!"

"It was our first time @ Ruth's Chris ever. Went for the special for restaurant week. I had the petit filet-superb! He had the blackened salmon, done perfectly- even though the presentation was kind of just a piece of fish on a plate--could of been better, dumb,yes, I know! Overall--it was FABULOUS!! Dinner was great, I had a glass of Malbec, my honey a glass of Argentinian Merlot (which was better). Dinner was great, the mushrooms unbelieveable the creamed spinich was not so hot. Could't even finish dessert, since the food was a healthy portion. Sat in a side room with only 4 tables which was just right noise level. And our server TROY was really attentive!!!"

"Ruth's Chris is really expensive. It's a great steakhouse, but you can get as good or better food elsewhere for less. They do have a fixed price menu now, which brings their prices down to just about equal with other steakhouses around town, but they give you less for the money than say, Ray's the Steaks. It's a good place to go if you're trying to impress someone:the food is reliably very good, the service is great and friendly, and it's generally perceived as upscale. However, it's not at all my first choice for a steakhouse. Maybe my third."

"Ruth's Chris is always very good & we eat there 3-4 times/yr. Steak, sides and fresh bread are all great, but side dish portions getting significantly smaller. In an effort to reduce costs but appear to add value, they added 3 shrimp to top the 6 oz filet during restaurant week. Probably a mistake. The shrimp was dry and pretty tasteless. My wife said that she would just skip it the next time. We will certainly return, but will skip the shrimp."

"We were seated in the back room which was nice since it was pretty quiet, which was a nice change from so many restaurants where you practically have to yell to hear each other. The room we were in also had a nice ambiance with the brick walls. We both ordered the steak and lobster special that they had and it was good, but it's not my favorite steak I've ever had. That belongs to Chops or McKendrick's in Atlanta, GA"

"We enjoyed our evening. Food was great - we did feel that the fixed price dinner was a bit inflexible. Restaurant would not let us substitute an additional side dish for a dessert - that seemed unnecessary.

Our waiter did try to accommodate me with a dish of ice cream at the end since it was my birthday. He was very kind.

Since this restaurant is considerably high priced, we feel that it should be a bit more open to substitutions."

"The best cooked lobster I've ever had in DC. I'm used to lobster in New England so I'm a bit picky - even at 2lbs. (which can tend to be not as tender or sweet) the lobster was as tender and sweet as a 1.25 pounder. Price per pound was extreme though - even for eating out and having someone else prepare - still, great way to celebrate the New Year!!!!"

"Don't let the chain name scare you away - the steaks here are some of the best and most reliable in the city - and they are at excellent prices with the seasonal specials. A starter, a side, flavorful steak, plus dessert all for under $50? (I know Morton's has a similar special but the steaks are somewhat bland and I find their quality pretty inconsistent.) When you add in Ruth's excellent service and a convenient location it's easy to see why we're repeat customers."

"The food was outstanding. My rib-eye was tender, cooked perfectly (medium rare) and it was hot from the oven. Service was excellent. I'm not sure I like the interior design - it seems a bit dated, but otherwise, it was a great night out for dinner. It's amazing: there are several Ruth's Chris Steak Houses in the DC area, but this one is the very best of the lot."

"Service was fantastic, pre-fixed menu was a great deal, and the building was awesome. I was absolutely shocked, however, that my mid-rare steak was gray in the middle. The restaurant did quickly and without question replace it with a properly cooked one. A very good overall experience."
