"went with the tuna tower and chicken satay. was interested in the balck pepper lobster but a bit too pricey. food was good and service was very good. would go back and try different options as menu had a number of items that looked tasty"

"Some commenters felt it was a little pricey but we fed 5 for about $100 not including drinks or tip. 2 Apps, beef entree, seafood entree, vegetable noodle entree, vegatable, and a large rice. The green curry was a real standout, noodle dish was good. Only disappointment was that we were sold on the coconut rice by our waitress only to be told that it wasn't done yet (at 7:30) and would take another 1/2 hour to cook. Service was good, waters refilled, no check issues, checked on often. The table was next to a pole and the rail in front of the kitchen witch complicated service a bit. Noise level not too bad initially but seemed to amp up a little after 8. Outside seeting was crowded but inside/bar not too full."

"This was my first visit to Strait's and I was pleased! The food had great presentation and was equally delicious! Our server was very friendly, attentive and helpful! I did find a piece of metal in my fried rice...which I'm glad that I saw and did not eat...not sure how it got there, but I do want the chefs to be aware that this happened. Otherwise, the experience was awesome and I will visit again. Thanks! :)"

"The food, service & atmosphere was amazing! Took my boyfriend for his 30th birthday and ended staying out from 7pm dinner to 2am party was over. The neighborhood was amazing and the drink menu was one of a kind. It was moderately priced but worth every penny!! We will definitely visit again!"

"Business lunch, including one "less adventruous" diner. Chic & stylish decor, chic young waitresses. Appetizers are always a hit - Chicken lollipops and Samosas. Ordered the Street Noodles - good, but not amazing. I've eaten here ~10 times so some of the novelty is starting to wear off, but it's still a reliably tasty meal."

"Our small group was having a nice dinner until the lights dimmed and loud thumping music was cranked up (7:30 PM). If you’re looking for the bar scene, this place will do. But if you’re after a nice place to have dinner with friends... keep looking."

"Reserved a table for special ocassion on 3/15 at 9:30; as usual, food was great and vibrant atmosphere. Mostly friendly service except for our waiter. SLOW to non-existent. Saw him maybe 3 times throughout the meal. Didn't seem any busier than any of the other staff but very bothered and was even stopped to talk to someone else and get a phone number while taking our order. We would have had more drinks and we even skipped dessert to go elsewhere so we wouldn't have to wait another hour to see him. Without us having to ask, other Straits staff did step up to ask if we needed anything and take care of us. As customary, we left our waiter a 20% tip although he hardly deserved it. We like the restaurant and typically have a good experience"

"a group of friends (6 of us) went to 6 dinner Friday night and spent quite a bit of money, ordering appetizer's, drinks & main course. They bring your ticket pretty quickly right after your done eating, so naturally you go ahead & pay and continued visiting with our friends. During that time, my sister was able to join us and have dinner while we sat & visited, we planned on ordering more drinks,well shortly after my sister arrived the hostess came to us and asked us nicely to leave because apparently they had our table reserved. That was the rudest thing I've ever experienced and all of 7us plus all the friends we will inform not to ever return to dine or even have drinks there again! They get an F for service and kicking us out!"

"We love this place but on this particular day, Valentines Day, we had reservations for 7:45pm, which I would think isn't too early for the staff to have had the outdoor heating ready for couples to enjoy their evening. I was very disappointed to have to stand around looking for someone to help us close a couple of curtains and turn on the heating outside so that we could begin our Romantic Valentines Day. I expected more out of Straits. I love the food here so I gave it a 4 star rating even though the service was awful to start with. Finally when they switched waiters later on in the evening it got better. I just feel, being it was a special event they should have been better prepared. We noted on the reservation: cabana please."

"The food is average. The service is lackluster. The management seems inexperienced. When The restaurant didn't have the bottle of wine that was on their menu, they would not suggest a comparable bottle without charging us more money.

"The food and service were outstanding. It had been over a year since we had been, but our next visit won't take so long. The service from the waitress, to the managers to the actuall owner was amazing. There were a couple of mistakes on our order but everyone of them was promptly corrected and even the owner came owner to check on us. The food was outstanding. We sat next to the kitchen and I got to watch the executive chef work his majic, he personally checked every dish that came from the kitchen and made sure everything was perfect. The mistakes we had were not the kitchens. The Chili Crab was amazing as was everything else we had. We can't wait to go back"
