"The Orangery just doesn't cut it anymore. If there is any kind of group or event going on the regular diners get the short end of the stick. The noise from upstairs events destroys any ambience in the main dining room. The service is not only slow, but not competent for a place in this price range. Example: just this last Saturday evening I asked our waiter which champagne was the least dry, or the sweetest. He brought us a moscato - which of course is not champagne. Portions are small, prices are high. This was my last time around the Orangery."

"The food was delicious, but not worth the price, especially after the server practically ignored us. A mandatory tip exceeding $50 was added to our bill for poor service. Have taken my students there annually for a senior celebration for three years, but I will not celebrate there again."

"We like to go to the Orangery for special occasions. Unfortunately this time we were seated nearest to the piano and you couldn’t talk over the overly loud piano. The noise from other people was also loud, probably because of the loud piano. In the past we have been seated farther from the piano and it was OK, but this time the noise made the evening unpleasant. When you make your reservation, request to be as far from the piano as possible!"

"I've lived in Knoxville many years and had never eaten at the Orangery. I always wanted to go but for some reason never did. I'd always heard how fabulous it was so finally decided to give it a try. It was ok. I kind of felt like I was trapped in a time warp. The restaurant looks like it was, at some point, really nice but it's in desperate need of a facelift. I am not opposed to classic french style but it just needs a little updating. I ordered all veggies/sides which were fine...no complaints there. My husband ordered a filet mignon which didn't look to be the best quality. The wait staff was good but on our arrival we had to wait for quite some time before anyone came to greet us or take us to our seat."

"Dined at the Orangery as part of Knoxville Restaurant Week. Selections were very tempting and offered 4 choices. The waiter was knowledgeable on the wine list, his service was superb. The food was excellent, timing between courses couldn't be better. Other staff personel were attentive. A good value considering the ambiance, food quality, and service. We plan to return since we had a really nice experience. We have recommended the Orangery to our friends when they want fine dining."

"I loved the feel of this place. It's very reminiscent of a Victorian mansion. The space is divided up in such a way that it creates an intimate space for dining and quiet conversation. A pianist contributed to the ambiance, and really made our dinner feel extra special. The food was exquisite! The one exception was the cheese sampler. My spouse felt is was a bit spare. As for the rest of the meal, the portions and flavors were perfect!! Our server was very attentive and engaging without being overbearing. She was very knowledgeable of both the wine list and the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and are now planning a return visit!"

"Our dining experience was really good. We had a party of 8 (mostly elderly). We had a round table, which enables good communication with everyone. The food was excellent. "This was our first visit to the Orangery but it will not be our last. A truly wonderful experience. From the owner who personally greeted us to the "water boy" the staff was well trained, courteous, and friendly...... The special discount coupon added to our enjoyment of the evening but considering the atmosphere, quality of food and service the evening and diner experience was well worth the menu price without the coupon. I highly recommend the Orangery for those special occasions when you and your significant other want to do something very special...."

"well the evening started off on a wrong note. We had got stuck in traffic and running late. I called the Orangery hoping that they could help and was told " not a problem Mr. Snow, your table will be waiting on you when you get here. No rush". And from there the evening just got better. Service was amazing as well as the food! And they had the roses I had ordered for our anniversary on the table. The evening was perfect and we will be going back again soon. No need to wait for a special occasion! And will highly recommend to all our family and friends!"
