"My wife and I celebrated our 7th Anniversary here, this is our second time eating at Verdad, and the foos was SPECTAULAR!
Great Atmosphere, Staff was exceptional, and the manager Jeff was Great.

"My wife and i have been here a couple of times both alone and with larger groups. The food is always outstanding as well as the service. For large groups the Paella is absolutely amazing and can easily feed 8. The rabbit is also an exceptional dish."

"Saturday night's dinner at Verdad was our first in 2 years. Our waitress was wonderful, food was good but the cook has no idea how to manage the timing of a table's food order. Our entrees arrived first, followed by 1 of the three salads. One of the appetizers never arrived. This experience was not the first time we've encountered poor kitchen service at Verdad. If the kitchen service has not improved after 2 years, its not going to improve. We've eaten our last meal at Verdad."

"The first time we went to Verdad, everything was amazing - the food, service, ambience. We couldn't wait to go back. When we did return, we thought we were in the wrong restaurant. Everything was terrible. My marguerita came with 1/2 of a lime plopped in it instead of a slice. When I took it out, there were 2 sips of a drink in the glass. The guacamole appetizer came with double the salsa and half the guacamole as on our first visit. We had barely started eating it when one of the staff tried to clear it from the table! 2 more times she returned to clear it while we were still eating it. Lastly, I really didn't appreciate having the chef/owner/cook's little boys running around in the restaurant, talking to their dad while he worked."

"Had never been to Verdad before. Each plate was delicious, especially the strawberry habanero and guacamole. They describe the restaurant as "tapas" style and recommend five dishes for two people. We could have ordered three or four and been satisfied with the amount of food. We sat by the open windows at the front of the restaurant, and the traffic noise (around 6pm on a Tuesday) on Lancaster Ave got a little loud, but that was our choice to sit there. Excellent margarita."

"I took my 7 bridesmaids out for a day of bonding and ended the day at Verdad. We were incredibly blown away by the quality of food as well as our service. We ordered about 10 dishes to share for our table. The drinks were incredible! I definitely recommend this restaurant to someone who not only loves to eat, but loves the tapas style restaurant. We will definitely be coming back soon!"

"This was our 4th visit and we haven't been disappointed by anything yet. The best surprise this time was guacamole with strawberries -- delicious combination. Also, Verdad has the best tinto sangria I've every had."

"The restaurant offers its menu by having a variety of small dishes to choose from and share with your group. They also have big plates that are meant to be shared when coming with a big group. The food was nicely presented and although the restaurant was a bit loud overall, I could still hear my friend talking and have our meal. The restaurant was a bit cold though."

"Had a wonderful experience about a year ago and upon returning really did not enjoy much of what we ordered, and most were highly recommended by our server. We obviously did not share the same palate. Food was heavy, cheesy, and greasy but again were not the items we would usually order. Do like it there and will return and maybe will feel differently again."

"I went with one other person and we sat at the newly unveiled ceviche bar in the back of the first floor space. For lack of better words, IT WAS AWESOME! I love sitting at chef's tables and this did not disappoint. The food was fantastic (as usual) and it was great interacting with the ceviche chef. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting this restaurant."

"On a Sat evening, the restaurant and bar area are very crowded. If you prefer a romantic and low-key setting, this isn't the right place for you. The tables for two in the back are located near the service area and it's Grand Central Station, as staff are constantly running by. Our server was rushed and flustered, and not engaged. The food came out quickly, but we felt rushed, as staff are on top of clearing plates. The Pinot Noir was a fantastic accompaniment, but it was poured rapidly and an initial taste was not offered. We ordered several tapas & the quality of the food was excellent! The Short Ribs are out of this world and you can cut with your fork. I return to Verdad because the food is amazing, not for the service or atmosphere."

"Our 5th visit in the past year and it wasnt the same high quality dining experience he had previously. Front windows were open on a breezy day, leaving the restaurant cold and chilly, why else would the hostess have two space heaters by her side...Mojitos were lacking simple syrup and tasted of club soda. The famous gaucamole was surrounded by a pool of liquid from the strawberry habanero mixture, creating a soupy dish. Ceviche was overpowered by jalapeno and tasted only of jalapeno, the appearance of dish was lifeless, just sitting on a large square. The pork belly was tough, extremely sweet, and took a very long time after our other dishes had been finished. Were going to give it some time before we head back to Verdad."

"Went for dinner last night (Cinco de Mayo) and hostess called to confirm reservation- nice touch. We were promptly seated. It took the waiter a bit to come over to us, which was understandable since they were busy. He forgot to read us the specials and the tasting menu, which I can only forgive because I was already set on my order anyway. Otherwise, that would have been a bit disappointing. Our last tapas prior to the paella took FOREVER to come out (something must have happened) but they gave us a free plate while we waited which was DELICIOUS! so no complaints here. Overall, service can be lacking but the food makes up for it every time."

"My wife and I love tapas restaurants, so we were thrilled to discover this while looking for a place to have our anniversary dinner. There's a great variety of food on the menu, mostly of Spanish and Latin influence, and all quite tasty. The empanadas and tacos were particularly memorable. As it is also a tequila bar, the place is very energetic and loud, but not so much so that it detracted from a nice dinner."

"My wife and I have dined at Verdad several times and have generally enjoyed the restaurant in the past. However, the restaurant did not meet our expectations on our last visit. The wait for several of our dishes was much longer - the waiter apologized multiple times for the long wait. In addition, the quality of the food was not as good as our previous visits. The sea bass was over-cooked and the hamachi ceviche was a pile of relatively tasteless fish on inedible coconut. I do not know whether there was a specific transient problem in the kitchen that the restaurant was trying to cover up or if the restaurant is just slipping...."

"Had not been in a while so we decided to go. Dissappointing to say the least. The place was crowded which we thought was a good sign that things must be going well. Got a great table and we were happy at first. Drinks were decent but the service was very slooooow and the service was shoddy. Lots of mistakes with our orders, the wrong thing brought out a few times and long delays between items. What was supposed to be tapas style turned out to be more like a 10 course meal. They literally forgot about one dish and brought it out as we were signing the check. The food wasn't that great either, with nothing particularly standing out as delicious. Unfortunate because we had hoped it would have been good like it was the past."

"The drinks were delicious although a little expensive- $15 for a margarita and $11 dollars for beer and wine. The food was good but they told us to get 2 each which was way too much. Also, they said that they bring them out as they are ready but they are clearly parsing them out since it took over an hour for all for food to come. I recommend that you request the light fish dishes first so you arent too full to eat them when they arrive at the end, like what happened to us."

"Taking into consideration it was a Saturday evening, bartender and wait staff were unattentive. Most of the plates we ordered were good however the calamari, though tasty, was very greasy. The short rib was overcooked – tasted more like a stew and the lobster gnocchi, let’s just say we sent that back – overcooked dough-balls. Would I come back? More than likely; I have the feeling it may have been just an off-night."

"My wife, six-month-old daughter and I visited Verdad on a trip back from the mall in King of Prussia. We had 5 or 6 tapas and every one of them was great. Truly great. We also both enjoyed a margarita - the taste was great but they were very light on tequila - surprising given this is a tequila bar. My wife and I have already talked about going back, but we probably will leave the little one at home as this restaurant is not a child-friendly type place."

"We have been to Verdad several times in the past and it has always been a good experience. My husband and I have been there by ourselves but this time we went with a group of friends and it was great because we were able to try and share more dishes. We probably ordered 15 tapas plates and loved all of them. The short ribs, chicken empanadas and lobster gnocchi were AMAZING!"

"Very nice place with innovative and tasty food that you'd never prepare at home. One caveat about the menu: Don't let the relatively low prices fool you. It is a tapas joint, which means that per person, you generally order 2 dishes. That said, I really love the idea of small plates, and getting just the right amount of many tasty dishes. Best shared with a loved one or close friend who you are comfortable sharing food with."

"My daughter and I enjoyed a girls' night out at Verdad Friday after work. The hostess was very pleasant and helpful, our waiter was attentive. The Food was AWESOME. We ordered the calamari and empenadas to start, LOVED them both. Next we had the lobster gnocchi and finished with the churros. The flavors were exciting and new, we ate it all with gusto.
The hostess offered for us to sit right away but warned that the table for two in the middle of the room is a flurry of activity all around. Next time (and there will definitely be a next time) we will wait for a better table as the 2 tables in the center of the room near the kitchen are stressful for patrons and servers alike."

"A recent Sat night birthday dinner at Verdad was met with great reviews. Highlights from the menu were the spinach salad and the duck BLT. The Winter Spice Margarita was also outstanding. While I rated the service 4 stars, that was primarily for the auxiliary wait staff that was efficient and attentive. Our waiter's attention to our table was lacking but he seemed to realize it and explained that he had 4 tables at basically the same stage. The noise level was quite high (the review describes it as 'energetic'--I would say overpowering) and the downstairs dining room could benefit from a few heavy velvet panels separating the bar area rather than the thin translucent fabric by the metal grill room dividers. Overall fantastic."

"Great restaurant. They accommodated our party as more people than we'd expected arrived and added on to it. The food is magnificent, the margaritas exceptional. Dining there is a fine time. Our server, Jared, made sure things arrived and all were happy."

"I always like it here, my only suggestion would be to pace your ordering because things come out very fast and you could seriously be in and out in 20 minutes otherwise. The food is small plates meant to be shared so we order 1 course at a time that way we control the timing a bit more. I enjoy everything I eat there even things I wouldn't normally try. Service is also great, all of the waiters seem to genuinely like what they do and are passionate about food and specifically the food they serve so they can guide you very well and do so."
