"This restaurant is a real gem with a great location on the Delaware River. Dining room has huge windows looking out. Food is always fantastic. Portion sizes are reasonable--you do not leave feeling stuffed. Staff is always courteous and knowledgeable. Many have been there for years.

"Are the three reasons to go here. The menu is ambitious but the food is barely above "diner" level. Skip the raw dough flavored biscuits and the 7 onion soup ( which came out cold and has a bland flavor). The signature Charleston crab is good but nothing to run back there for. Service was pleasant but with such an incredible view and such beautiful ambience the owners need to amp it up and find a stellar chef to do right by the place, AND it's customers!"

"This restaurant will make any special occasion enjoyable due to it friendly and professional service. It sits along the banks of the canal system of the Delaware River in Upper Bucks County. They have a very nice menu with prime meats and assorted seafood items as well as fresh salads and tasty apps. The wine and drink selection will satisfy most diners and the dessert menu will have you staying for coffee too. I'd highly recommend this gem for an enjoyable evening."

"We dined at the black bass during the New Hope restaurant week event and enjoyed the 3 course prix fix menu very much. The food was fantastic. The bar area is very charming. The restaurant was very full the night we were there and the staff seemed to be stretched a bit thin. Hoping that was not the norm. There is an outside lower level patio that overlooks the river. It's outfitted with fire pits & heaters for year round enjoyment. We plan to return when the weather gets warmer to enjoy the outside space."

"Although the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived at 6:15 p.m. on a Saturday night, we were seated away from the windows overlooking the river and next to the computer station. Our waitress was intrusive to the point of rudeness, interrupting conversations mid-sentence. Appetizers were served lukewarm. The filet mignon was prepared as requested, but both fish entrees were overcooked. All in all, a disappointing visit."

"We recently dined at the Black Bass Hotel on 3/9 for my husband's birthday. It is a beautiful place inside and out. Ordered a salad to share, had no dressing on it and asked for some which was given on the side. We ordered filets for our meal (RARE) and when they arrived, a very nice thick piece of filet was served, however, it was VERY WELL done. We told our server, Shirley, and she immediately told us she would send them back. We don't like to waste food as such, so we ate as much as we could. The manager came over promply, apologized and offered to comp our dinners as well as dessert. We thought this was very generous and unexpected and we appreciated the effort of our server as well as the manager. Overall, good experience."

"We've been to the Black Bass on several occasions and we have always had a wonderful time. Food is outstanding and so is the service. We had a table window and enjoyed the view. I had the duck and it was tender and delicious. My husband had the wild mushroom ravioli and he enjoyed his food also. "The menu had interesting choices, even though it was heavy on the seafood. The food was well prepared and portion sizes were generous. The view of the Delaware River can't be beat. The ambiance was dampened by a wait-staff that was constantly walking briskly past your table (almost running) creating a breeze and a distraction. The hutch located in the center of the main dining room was a hub of activity and was not sectioned off or hidden in any way, creating more of a visual and auditory distraction. The wait staff bumped my chair on more than one occasion while getting to other tables. Either there is not enough room between tables or they are careless."

"The directions from the Black Bass website were terrible. We got so lost; had to call the restaurant three times and still could not find the location until our GPS finally found it using a New Hope address. What should have been 20 minutes turned into an hour. The server was abrupt and did not check on us; we had to seek her out for water, etc. The food was expensive and adequate at best. I would have preferred the Tavern menu but, apparently, that is not available on the weekend."

"My husband and I have been diners at the Black Bass over the years for special occasions.... and just because we like it. We brought out of town relatives from Palm Springs,Ca. in July 2011 and dined outdoors. Since they live in the desert area, they loved sitting outside, enjoy the ambiance and the food.
I have recommended it to locals, that I couldn't believe hadn't been there already. So needless to say, we will be back again in the near future."

"My salt and pepper calamari appetizer was delicious, as was salad and rack of lamb. They make their own delicious ice cream, and the coffee was very good. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Lovely atmosphere. We will definitely return."

"on arrival we found ,a wonderfull envirment, I felt as I was back somewere in The Swiss Alps. It was our Anniversary and the place couldn't be more appropriete for the occasion. We stopped at the Bar ,being a little early on our reseervation and we had to moove on , because it was too noise there ,the few people in there were loud ....pretty loud. at Dinner we chose a bottle wine and Dinner was very good. (Only we had to ask ourn Server to Bring the Soup back because it was Cold..) Alltogheter we had a good time and will for sure go back and raccomend to our Daughters. Too bad that near us was a Couple sharing a Burger and a salad. Thank' You. (my Wife and I ) as it was our first time there,"

"We met our good friends there for dinner on Saturday night. We were seated exactly at the time of reservation. Dinner was amazing. The filet mignon melted in your mouth. Appetizers of stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon and calamari were to die for. The only disappointment was that, when my friend ordered apple crisp with ice cream, they were out of apple crisp. The waitress told us, that they usually run out of it on Saturday nights. I suggested that, perhaps, they make sure they have extra. We were seated at the window over looking the Delaware River. Below us, outside, there were fire pits, surrounded with chairs with blankets and giant heaters. The snow finished the ambiance."

"This is our fifth visit to the restaurant and our experience has been uniformly excellent. The hotel offers a superb view of the Delaware River, both from the restauant and from the bar area downstairs.The food, although a strain on the wallet, is not a strain on the taste buds. The chef offers a wide variety of fish, meat and vegaetarian dishes, accompagnied by an intriguing list of sides. Order the soup of the day, a salad, plus the lamb, pork loin, ravioli or steak and you can't go wrong."

"Black Bass Hotel is always a wonderful experience. The restoration done on this historic building is thoughtful and perfectly kept. The outdoor deck is great - Winter and Summer! Just magical.
Would recommend for couples dining or group reservations. This is a top notch establishment and the view is second to none."

"We happen to go on a Saturday night, in January, and it was quite crowded. We had reservations for 8:00pm, but were not seated til 8:50pm. The manager made up for that by paying the bar tab, which I found very impressive and because of that I would go back. ( there were 4 people in our party) The food was very good and the service was good considering it was packed. I would recommend going weekdays to experience a more relaxed atmosphere. But they still did a good job considering the place was full."
