Delio Susi, in anticipation of his restaurant’s tenth anniversary, refined both his restaurant’s menu as well as its interior design, to great success. Losing none of his Abruzzi roots, the food is clean but clearly Italian, and a little rustic. The warm and inviting room makes the same statement. Drawing on his architectural background, Susi plays with simple organic materials, like square slate tiles and tabletops, and brown leather tufted banquettes. The use of brick plus copper fixtures contribute to the Italian country/casual feel that serves food and wine to match. Wooden floors and European style open windows for the summer add to this ambiance. And red lamps that hang in bright contrast with the earthy tones during the day, shed a sexy flattering nighttime glow. Amelia’s Trattoria offers a personal and authentic dining experience using top local ingredients infused with the heart of its Italian chef.
"This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. It was a block away from the movie theater so we decided to have dinner her before the show. We ordered the mussel appetizer and were pleasantly surprised by both the portion and quality. It was a giant bowl with mussels drenched in a garlic/butter sauce. Delicious! We both ordered up specials for the entree and again, the quality carried over. Perfectly cooked halibut, along with butternut squash. She had a delightful pasta with large scallops. Overall, the experience was great. Recommended for sure!"

"Any time I am near Cambridge I go to this gem of a restaurant off Kendall SQ. (ish). Polenta and calamari to die for and entrees that are innovative and carefully prepared. This time, I had a grass fed ribeye, grilled and then served with a dash of a wine and thyme reduction that was AWESOME, and my friend had the sweetest, most luscious halibut I've tasted this side of Alaska! The wait staff is attentive and helpful, AND (yes, it gets better!) there is one of the best, most reasonably priced wine lists I have ever had the pleasure to drink my way through! The Chef/Owner, Delio, doesn't take huge mark ups on his wines...more to love!
The only downside? That I am never in town long enough to eat there TWICE during my visits!"

"The food and ambience (with all the windows) were great. I took my friend there for his birthday, and he really liked it. It is a bit noisy though, which some people don't mind."

"From attentive service to outstanding dishes including the off-menu carbonara, this was an exceptional dining experience. The dining room is definitely cozy but has a great intimate atmosphere. Staff were knowledgeable, welcoming, and helpful in suggesting drinks and dishes. Amelia's boast of using the freshest ingredients as the main component of their home made dishes and it clearly shows. Looking forward to our next visit."

"The meal I had was amazing. It was one of the specials. I really enjoy this restaurant for dinner because the lunch menu is classic contemporary american cuisine but in the evening they let their chefs have flex their muscles and they sure do. The dishes are amazing and the atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable."

"The good: - They were very accommodating with special requests - Desserts were very good - Nice ambiance
The not so good: - My hanger steak was clearly not "medium" and the sauce was very high in sodium - Sides didn't have a gourmet/fine dining feel to them - very average at best - Staff was friendly, but not the most knowledgeable"

"Gracious server and host. Menu is very limited, although they will customize a request. Unfortunately, this was a birthday dinner and it was very disappointing. Food was bland and not seasoned well. We won't return."

"Food was good service was hectic. 4 different people waited on us, love te bar tender he was the most friendly of them all. Loved the food just wish the place was bigger than a shoe box so I didn't get elbowed so much by other guest and wait staff"

"I had reserved a table for an important business meeting with a group of people. I called the day before to confirm the reservation. On the day of, I called to alert the restaurant that we were running late, but no one picked up the phone. When we arrived, we found that the restaurant had given the table to another group. Although they had my number, they did not call me before giving away the table."

"My husband and I go to Amelia's a couple of times a year and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is always amazing and the service is great! This time I had Arancini - lamb inside made it delectable and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli - Oh my goodness, SO good, they melted in my mouth and were so yummy! The berry sorbet was refreshing and delicious!"

"The restaurant is very small, about 29 seats at tables and a few more chairs at the small bar, so tables are tightly packed making it a challenge to get in/out from your table. The arancini was excellent. The gnochi and butternut squash was one note and one texture, too much all the same. My friend ordered the ravioli of the day which was lobster. The server didn't mention the price and my friend didn't think to ask. She was shocked by the $35 sticker price. I think servers should always state the price of specials. The ravioli was good but not worth spending $35 on. The experience was good but with so many restaurants in the Boston area I wouldn't rush back, I would try somewhere new to me."

"Food is good, portions large and the place is not big and good for a relaxing dinner. Prices are moderate-high. We had to wait before sitting, despite there were free tables as they try to fit more table than what is possible given the space."

"I think we were the rowdy group. It seems like a great, relaxed place to get a really spectacular meal. The staff were attentive and skilled. My overly large group grew by 50% over my original reservation, and they handled it with poise. We had a great time.
I wouldn't really recommend this restuaurant for groups, even though they handled it really well, because I feel like it's rude to the other diners. It's a small space, and a large group changes the atmosphere of the entire restaurant for everyone else."

"I have been many times to this delightfully quaint spot, knowing the place fully. However, I had not been in a couple years and, well, I was disappointed this time, mostly. The appetizers (calamari, caesar salad and meatballs) were excellent. The drinks, okay, good wine selection, nice ambiance, etc., but the entrees were just not good this time round. The papardelle pasta and veal were well below usual standards - pasta having far too much oil without flavor (almost watery) and while the veal was well-cooked and tender, the flavor was completely lacking, with a basil leaf in every bite. They usually do a great job, so it could have been an off night, but...it was notable to me and my guest, so I offer it here for others to consider."

"Went to this restaurant on a Sat. night. It was a small & cozy venue. The food was fresh and flavorful.... Everything was delicious. (I had hand cut pasta and it was fabulous)

"I have worked around the corner from this place for almost 3 years, walked past it hundreds of times and have never made it in before. Boy, is that a mistake! My panini was amazing and just the right size. Compared to the price of sandwich shops in this area, Amelia's quality is extraordinary and the exact same price."

"My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day at Amelia's for a delicious dinner. We were able to pick our table since it was an early reservation and the waitstaff were very attentive and checked in regularly to make sure everything was going well. We thought the menu provided the customers with many entrees as well as specials for that night. Overall we would definitely recommend this place and will return again for another night out."

"We had a party of 12 for an office lunch. The service was accomodating and outstanding. Very personable and helpful. The menu offered something for everyone. Only one dish was questionable and that could have been attributed more to the individual than the entree itself. They quickly provided a replacement meal in short order."

"We have been to Amelia's Trattoria multiple times and it has become our favorite place for a special dinner or evening out. While the space is small, the staff do a great job of providing excellent service. The menu is always filled with new and intriguing entrees with excellent presentation. All in all a very enjoyable spot for people looking for something new"

"I think the food is excellent, but my experience was not. We arrived on time and were told we had a long wait. With a reservation, we had to wait close to an hour before being seated. There were two other groups in the same situation which made me think that this might be truly poor planning by the restaurant. We ordered drinks and then two appetizers just before being seated to save time. I thought as a courtesy they should have been "on the house". Instead, the restaurant decided to send us a third appetizer and told us that one was "on the house". My son ordered the lamb meatball with pistachio and was served the pork with fennel. The waiter responded No, they are careful in the Kitchen. Really? No lamb was on his plate."
