"The food was wonderful and it was a great night. The only downside was the bluefin tuna and monkfish on the menu. I think responsible restaurants that focus on quality ingrediants should consider alternates to these fish. Thank you!"

"Mizuna did a wonderful job for 5280 week. It was a treat to go there at special prices. The bread was fantastic. They had a great selection of wine, including wine at reasonable prices. The entire staff was knowledgable and helpful. The appetizers and entrees were excellent. There were some complaints written about their 5280 meal, and I do not agree with the negatives. It would have been nice to have more than one selection for dessert but when they are extremely busy and serving at lower prices during 5280 week, I can see where they need to simplify."

"Our first dining experience at Mizuna. Loved it. Wine list starts at a higher price point than our other restuarants, but we found a wine to enjoy. We weren't made to feel miserly not to have a second bottle, no pressure. Each course was enjoyable. Waiter made dining experience best of 5280. He gave us eye contact, showed interest and seemed to enjoy the whole food presentation for us."

"The food is excellent here. The chefs understand flavor combinations and exploit technique to enhance the basic taste while not overpowering the other elements. The portions are smaller than most places but with 3 courses you will be satisfied. Prices are higher than they should be but I think this is more to keep undesirables and younger people (20s) out. Not an every week place but defiantly worth going to occasionally."

"In total contrast to its sister restaurant Luca, Mizuna was a pleasure--as a dining experience should be. The hostess and our waitress made us feel welcome and the experience enjoyable. "Mizuna is very beautiful inside, very intimate. The fois gras app is amazing. Our only negative points were the limited wine by the glass selection (I was driving so didn't want to order a full bottle) and service. It may have just been our server (very tall and baldish gentleman) but we felt rushed and he over did it by clearing the table too soon(my assumption to rush us along). He cleared our drinks before 3 of the 4 of us had finished our drink. We began to feel as soon as we saw him coming we had to hold onto our drinks, plates etc if we didn't want them cleared til we had finished. Not the relaxing atmosphere you typically feel at this type of high end restaurant. We may return but will make sure we don't have this server."

"As always, the best experience in Denver! Amazingly creative food with vibrant flavors. Mushroom bisque was superb with the escargot. The ostrich was perfectly prepared. Great wine pairings from the Sommelier and the service sets the standard for Denver--attentive, warm, but unobtrusive. Even during Restaurant Week, the staff kept their composure and we never felt crowded or rushed. We will be back."

"This was our first visit to Mizuna and went for Restaurant Week. I like the feel of the restaurant and the service was friendly and attentive. "Amazing food! I have eaten at Frank's other restaurants many times and was glad we could slide in for one of the last reservations for Restaurant Week. We enjoyed the Mushroom Bisque, Clam Chowder, the Sea Bass, and the Steak 2-ways? Which was so tender and coated in butter, best steak I have ever had! Only to finish with the Pecan Sticky Bun...light, delicious, the perfect way to end the meal! Service was amazing, although the couple sitting next to us were rude and completely lacking understanding for the slammed kitchen and the extended wait times for their meal, thankfully we had a great bottle of wine to get us through! Four Thumbs!"

"We ordered from the 5280 menu. We started with the pate appetizer that, coupled with the incredible bread and butters, was the highlight of the dinner. We chose the beef entree. Nice but not impressive and the extra $10 for black truffles was a poor choice -- hard to capture any additional flavor. I would not recommend it. Desert was fair -- a breakfast like sweet roll that lacked the softness and "gooeyness" of a classic sweet roll. Service was outstanding, as always. Wine was superb. If I were to go back for the 5280 menu, I'd opt for the fish entree, skip the black truffles, take the desert home for breakfast the next morning, and have a second glass of wine."

"We remember 'memorable' food at Mizuna. This time was a little different. I think the two entree choices were not good choices. I ordered the bass; the outside was crunchy and a little bony; the potato fritters were starchy and not impressive. The beef dish was too rare and nothing exciting; Mizuna used to have those killer sauces! We had brought two 'newbies' with us for dinner and I don't think they will be back...not sure if we will be either."

"Went during Restaurant Week. Forgive me if I go on a little bit of a rant here, but Frank Bonanno - Why do you participate? Follow Fruition's lead and just skip it next year. The Beef Three Ways was served in a 6 inch diameter deep bowl with an excellent consommé, but virtually impossible to cut and eat. Ended up dumping it onto the rectangular serving dish – rather bland and half expected to be on YouTube as a part of some kind of joke. Mizuna and Luca are great restaurants – just avoid them vigorously during the 5280 weeks - otherwise, if it is your first experience, you will probably never find out how great they truly can be."

"First time eating at Mizuna. My expectations were very high and I was not disappointed. The service was spot-on, and the food was some of the best in memory (which, incidentally includes a recent trip to Paris.) Everything about the food screams quality. "I waited until Restaurant Week to try this restaurant and I hate to say it, I was underwhelmed with the food. We did order the mac & cheese because I had heard so much about it, but where as some restaurants offer some of their regular menu, it kind of seemed like they made something up that would fit within the price point instead and I got a kind of beef pot roast soup. Also, they stated that dessert would be bread pudding and instead was a cinnamon roll. I did have the mushroom soup that was delicious. The service was impeccable!"

"A restaurant with a view of the kitchen which names their food providers on its menu in pride is always a good start. Fresh baked bread offered before dinner with flavored butter was absolutely fantastic, followed by a phenomenal meal--god knows when I get crab in Colorado that tastes like it was just pulled out of the ocean in Maine or escargot that is Paris-quality, that is something special. However, our waiter was quite awkward and stuffy, and I was not allowed to substitute accompaniments, which automatically makes me a bit bitter towards a restaurant. This may have been the fault of our waiter, but you never know since it could be restaurant policy. Otherwise, this is an excellent place to go when you have some money to spend."

"We visited during 5280 Week and had a really nice evening. The food was very good although I have eaten many better desserts at Mizuna. We had a great bottle of wine and went home to try and order some. Seems the bottle we drank at Mizuna was more than three times marked up, and that would be buying full price which I am sure they did not. That really bothered both of us."

"I've been to Mizuna many times, and have consistently found it to be among denver's best meals. THis one was a bit of a clunker, though - which happens even to the finest restaurants - it took 55 minutes for the appetizer to come out. The table next to ours, which was seated 15 minutes after us, was already enjoying their second course before our apps came out. Given my stellar experiences here in the past, I will still come back, as the the meal, when it arrived, was excellent. Kudos to the sommelier, Ryan, for a lovely wine list full of interesting gems."

"As usual, the food was very good, however, although our waitress was attentive, she was not very friendly and I got the feeling we were annoying her. Perhaps it was just an off night.

Everything on Mizuna's menu is great, but it's very expensive. I'm finding there are some new restaurants with really great food and much lower prices. These restaurants may not have a hit with every item on their menu but they are figuring it out and generally their "scenes" are a little more lively and fun."

"We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was amazing. Everything from the fresh baked olive bread, amuse bouche - a perfectly executed progression, to the giant prawn and colorado lamb were fantastic. The foie gras with apples and caramel sauce was a highlight probably given to our inexperience with foie gras cooked so perfectly. The persimmon and chocolate cake dessert was a little disappointing, the cake being especially dry. However, the wine pairings made up for any hiccups in the dishes. The tables are a little close together making the atmosphere expecially cozy and had we not been in a corner, the conversations from other tables may have been overwhelming. The service was a little slow at first but overall attentive."

"As always Mizuna's experience was wonderful. We took our son and his wife for a celebration. It was a Tuesday night and the place was not full so we got even more attention to detail. Our server even brought us some champagne on the house to celebrate his good news. It is this kind of treatment that brings you back! The food was excellent as always. "My husband and I have been to Mizuna many times treating our family and friends. When we were there on November 13, the food was fabulous and our family and friends went back to Atlanta saying it was the best food they had ever tasted. This time, the sauce for my lamb and my friend's beef dish were so salty that I almost sent it back. I told our waiter and after we were finished eating, he said "I'll let the kitchen know at the end of the evening." Huh? Why wouldn't you do something about it at the moment? I always order a martini with the bleu cheese stuffed olives and the waiter said, "I guess I can go and stuff them." I have never had a server say such a thing. Perhaps they do have to do this, but never before!"

"The food was excellent. However, moving recently from San Francisco and being in our early 30s, the crowd was not our type. Most people there were older. Some people were wearing jeans and others were quite dressed up. The waiter gave us weird vibes.

"We decided to go a little off the beaten path and do an all small-plate dinner at Mizuna. And we were very pleased with the quality and variety of dishes we were able to have. At the top of the list were the rich macaroni and cheese with lobster and the mouth-enveloping gnocchi with rabbit and walnuts. The pork belly was surprisingly crisp but very flavorful. And the bay scallop was nearly a meal in itself. A great assortment."

"We had not been for years and were celebrating our 30th anniversary. Our daughter had a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived which was nice & the dessert included a candle from the staff.
It was as expected a very pleasant experience. 1 hitch.
There was a man & young child 2 tables over from us that was an interesting spectacle to watch. Not sure why but the staff all new him & heaped lavish attention on his table.
The "suit" that kind of walked around & talked to a few select people also came to their table to welcome and or chat. The "suit" also talked to & welcome a few select people. It was a bit offish to me to be ignored when other patrons were so pointedly welcomed. It was kind of elitist. All should be welcomed!"
