"My family and I made reservations for my daughters B'day and Mothers Day. Due to the number of people in our party and the fact that I was paying the entire bill, I delibertly chose lunch due to the cost. After arriving I was informed that they were not serving lunch that day. Needless to say, the additiional cost was not planned on and very shocking. When making the reservations I should have been informed that LUNCH would not be served and that I would be paying dinner prices. I feel like you took advantage of ALL your customers due to it being Mothers Day. This is very unfair of you to your customers.

"Good food But the show among the chefs is a lil repetitive. And you never know what type of folks you will be seated with. I would recomend it but not as a couple times a month place to eat it is still way too expensive for me to eat at except on special occasions"

"We always enjoy the food at House of Japan... so yummy! It is even better when you get a cook who really entertains the table.
We like to go for lunch for the better prices and usually always order the veggies with our meal. I have to say that this past time that we were there I was very disapointed with them! The whole table ordered the vegtables and the amount on the grill looked enough for 2, maybe 3 people. I was on the end so by the time I got my serving I had one slice of a mushroom, 2 little bits of zuchinni and the rest was all onions! Everyone at the table paid an additional $3.59 per order and there probably wasn't $3.59 worth of veggies on the grill! Love the vegtables but probably won't make the mistake of ordering them again."

"Great if you have a veteran chef. Ours was quiet and left for a bit after dropping a spatula. It was a little disappointing after taking my niece for the first time. I've been there 3 other times where the chefs were much more entertaining. Food was still great and I'd go again."

"Our waitress was forgetful and didn't check up on us as often as needed. Our cook was preoccupied with talking to friends at our table and didn't cook our rice correctly or my steak. I ordered it medium rare and he cooked it medium well along with my wife's. Filet shouldn't be brown all the way through. "My family and I have been here several times and this is the first time we were not impressed with our dinner. The steak was fatty, my daughter's steak was forgotten and then ended up being more medium rare than medium well. I ordered extra chicken and ended up with the same amount as everyone else at our table. For the price we payed, I would have gone to Genji's or Fujiyama's."

"It was great. The only thing I would change, is if a reservation is made and all parties are there but maybe 1 person who is on their way, we should be seated. We had to wait and were concerned that we would loose our reservation. I understand that this is the type of service that once seated things start happening, but to have a customer worry that they would loose their reservation is not good service.

"Our Chef was a lot of fun. The whole experience was amazing. My only complaint was that the bar did not have oranges despite the large assortment of other fruit. The food was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly. We will definitely be back again and again."

"Dining at House of Japan was not a pleasant experience. the noise level in the restaurant was so loud we could not hear our waitress, or chef speak. The food was mediocre at best, everything tasted very burnt, and there was so much smoke from all of the fires that one member of our party had to leave the table, and go outside just to get a breath of fresh air. I was actually embarrassed that we took out of town business associates to this restaurant."

"Our experience was a good one. I think this particular night the cooks were in short supply. We normally have someone cooking by time our salad comes and we had to wait for about 20 minutes, with no explanation. The cook we did have was ok but wasn't entertaining. The food did make up for the lack of service. We were celebrating my sons 15th birthday."

"Upon first entering, it was very apparent that this was a popular place. We had a 2pm reservation and walked in right at 2:00. We had a very hard time finding a place to park and ended up out on the curb on the street. Once we squeezed through the door and waded the crowd to the check in desk, it became clear that reservations don't mean much here. We were seated at 2:20. None of this would have been a problem, except we ended up getting a chop chef that didn't do tricks, or even converse with any of us at the table. That would have even been okay, if the food was good, but it was not. Very dumbed down for Americans.... HUGE amounts of butter were used to prepare the fried rice and meats... Everything tasted heavy and greasy..."

"We had reservations for 7pm but still wasn't seated until almost 7:30pm. They squeezed us into a table that should have had 2 fewer people seated. Food was good, chef's are always awesome, drinks are a little weak.
Overall, great date or famly night. They do a lot of birthday parties banging a drum.... nice time for all."

"A good typical Japanese Tepanyaki restaurant. The food and the cooking are always good. I just get really mad because a reservation is meaningless at this place. You seem to wait as long as everybody else that walked in. This last visit, we checked in and were til thy our table won't be ready for a few minutes. We checked back 20 minutes later, and they said that thu did not know we were there. Not only wa the reservation meaningless, we were forgotten as we were waiting with walk ins."
