Deal makers, politicians and businessmen frequent the restaurant regularly making it the place see and be seen. The hotel main dining room serves traditional breakfast with a twist; deli sandwiches, creative entree's and salads for lunch, as well as our City Search 2006 Best Brunch winning Dom Perignon Sunday Brunch. Three tiers of champagne are offered to complement the experience: Domaine Chandon, Moet et Chandon, and of course, Dom Perignon.
"What an amazing hotel! I read a book about a murder at this hotel and had to see the place for myself. I met a friend at Elyngrons and had a delicious lunch after exploring the lobby. I will be back for tea and maybe the spa too!"

"Ellyngton's IS in an old building but this does not excuse the lack of cleanliness. This though, is not the primary reason for this critique of Ellyngton's. The real reason we all go to restaurants if for the food. When it comes to the Sunday brunch we are going for many reasons and one is the celebration of copious amounts of good food. We expect to pay a premium price and receive premium food in quality and type. Ellynton's charges a premium (near luxury price) but delivers a pedestrian quality and type. The variety is stunted and the quality is less than Olive Garden. The most exotic "cold" food was shrimp. The clams and mussels were hard and the lack of other shell fish, i.e: crab legs left me angry that I spent $50 for a $25 brunch."

"we had a nice time, but we were disappointed with the food. for $65 per head, $74 with champagne, we expected at top or near top shelf - it was more like waist height shelf. we have been to amazing brunches at wonderful hotels around the world, and we're hoping for a similar experience. The service, however, was very good, and we loved the live jazz."

"The service & ambience were outstanding but for the price that you pay I would have expected more from the food. I understand that it is a challenge to keep buffet food hot but for the price we paid I would have expected this and that was not the case on all dishes. You had to order the eggs benedict to ensure the freshness and the first one that I got was like eating a hard boiled egg, now the second one was perfect though. I would not spend this kind of money again on a brunch buffet when you can get the same quality at several other places around town for a lot less money."

"We were celebrating a birthday and decided to go to Ellyngtons because of its good reputation. However, our experuence left a lot to be desired.
The hostess at the door was not friendly at all. On the contrary, she limited herself to asking, "name?" Then a gentleman directed us to our table, where he simply pointed to it and left. He did not say a word regarding the buffer, or even wished us a good time.
Our waiter was good and so were the people in charge of the buffet. Howver, the food was not great and it is certainly not worth the price. The sushi was terrible and so were the pies.
Music was good except for the fact that they played only 20 minutes because they took about 3 to 4 long breaks while we were there."

"If you are going for a nice experience this is a great place to go. It is very overpriced but that is part of the charm. A very nice brunch spread and it is a great place for a special occasion."

"I noticed at 11am that Ellyngton's was turning away "walk-ins" for that day. Yet many tables didn't fill until 12:30 - 12:45. How marvelous that Ellyngton's appreciates an unhurried, leisurely lunch in a delightful atmosphere with a wait staff attentive but calm and relaxed. Food was delicious as always and service was prompt. Wonderful dining experience."

"So I been wanting to try the Brunch here because I didn't think the tea service was in a good spot to relax. I was hoping there were crab legs, but none to my surprise. I liked that they had oysters, but they didn't have the mignonette sauce. The shrimp were huge and there was lemon and cocktail sauce with also some raw shallots, but no suace for the oysters, clams or mussels. You can't eat cocktail sauce with all of those or you won't get the flavor of it. I love the charcuterie. The meats and cheese offering were great and the bacon was nice and thick with no fatty chewiness to it, but I can get good bacon anywhere's.Their carving stations okay, eggs benedict-Delicious, eggs station- ok, but long line. Overall it's okay for 50 bucks."

"While a bit pricey the food was good and there was plenty of it and this is one of the better brunches in town. They had cheese, crackers and dried fruits and nuts; made to order omelets; eggs benedict made to order; carving station; tons of seafood inlcuding sushi, mussels, oysters, shrimp, and clams; bagels and salmon, typical bfast items such as sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, rolls, croissants, and a huge dessert spread complete with chocolate fountain (white and milk). It was all very good. Great coffee. Fresh squeezed OJ. Great service."

"The only one I ever went to that was better, is no longer what it was--and that was the Brown Derby many years ago at the MGM Grand. Franchise is now at Disney and I'm sure it's not the same. Fond memories that will never be repeated. The Brown Palace should be on every must visit list for Denver."

"The Brown Palace has a reputation for being a fine establishment, it was therefore a disappointment for brunch. The food was fair and not brunch-like. The waiter brought 2 bottles of champagne to the table and offered to pour but never said there would be an extra charge added. There was a card left on the table explaining the charges but I didn't see it until brunch was almost over. I thought for the food offered, it was overpriced. Would have happily paid $30, but felt $50 was too much. Overall, it was just a disappointment."

"My husband took me here for a pre-birthday brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. When we first walked in the concierge told us a little history on the hotel then escorted us to the dining room. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who seated us. Our server was prompt and courteous, always there for refills of coffee, orange juice, etc. As for the food we mostly ate the delicious smoked salmon, lox, smoked trout and shrimp. We each ordered an omelet with crab and it was very good too. Just relaxing and being with my husband was wonderful. We recently moved from TX to CO and had never been to the hotel, but my husband declared brunch there at least once a month! Also forgot to add, the jazz group was exceptional!"

"Ellyngton's is everything a restaurant should be. It is elegant, the service is outstanding and attentive. Most important it is quiet.
It is very difficult to find anything other than an extremely noisy restaurant. I usually have to put in ear plugs to help bring the noise down somewhat.
The experience of quiet dining is exquisite!"

"The two times I have had the luxury of attending the Sunday Dom Brunch at Ellyngtons have been like sitting in the lap of luxury. The staff is friendly and nice and the food is prepared to the best. While I believe the seafood may not be as fresh as other places that specialize in it, the dessert bar more than makes up for the slight lack in that section."

"Food is both plentiful and delicious! We are a "foodie" family with chefs - both professional and non-professional - in the mix. We had a group of 11 for a special occasion aged 20 - 99 years old and all enjoyed not only the food but the wonderful, friendly ambiance. This is one of our favorite spots for special occasions as it works for everyone."

"Oysters were a disappointment, but the remainder of the seafood offerings were above average. Wide variety of cheeses and fruits. Perfectly cooked rare roast beef carving station. Good Champagne flight choices to enhance the experience. Desert chef was entertaining as well as the presentations varied and tasty.
We have experienced better, but outside of those few we would highly recommend Ellyington's as a special place for Sunday Brunch."

"Ellyington's champagne brunch is one of the most wonderful things we have found in Denver dining. It rivals the Ritz Carlton's holiday buffets which we always go to in Naples, where we live. Not only are the food offerings excellent (and your choice of champagne which keeps on coming), but they have a very nice 3-piece combo which plays such nice music while you dine. We couldn't praise it more."

"We had a nice table - as I had requested. I noticed on the reservation website that the price was $31 - $50 for Ellyngtons - site where brunch reservations are made. Actually, our brunches were $60 - because of unlimited champagne - but I think the website price is misleading. (I know it's the regular menu price) Waitress was lovely and we didn't feel rushed at all - which is nice. Food was excellent, as expected. At the valet parking site, we told the gentleman we were going to brunch. (he asked) When we went to retrieve our car, we were charged $10.00 because we hadn't had the parking ticket "validated". Someone should have volunteered that, if it's necessary, when we'd just spent nearly $300.00 for brunch."

"Absolutely great brunch. We live in NY and come to Denver for our taxes annually. Although we don't like the Valentine's "Surcharge" we love the brunch and so bare the cost. I do think the decore needs to be spruced up a bit."

"The Sunday Brunch Ellyngton's was a tremendous experience! Everything about our brunch experience was first class. The brunch offerings were fresh, delicious, and kept full. The staff was personable and attentive without being intrusive. We spent three hourse grazing, talking, and enjoying the morning without once feeling "pressured" to leave."

"Great special occasion brunch that lived up to expectations. The seafood, fruit and cheese blintz, prime rib, and banana's foster were the highlights. The service was attentive but not stiff, the dessert chef was especially open to conversation and questions. We were the last to leave and we did not feel as if they were anxious to get us out. Overall, expensive, but a very good experience that I hope to have the occasion to repeat."

"Sunday Brunch is a regular of mine, 3-4 times a year and never a bad experiance. However, this time I had a little sticker shock. Didn't see it when I made reservations and forgot that the cost is higher in February. Had I remembered I would have went a different Sunday. Other then that every thing was good as it always was."
