"Beautiful setting in the historic Brown Palace Hotel Lobby. Excellent live piano music, surrounded by exquisite marble and metalwork it takes you back to the lavish mining times of Denver. Do not miss the glass ceiling it is stunning! Our server was really courteous and all the staff is attentive to serve you and make you feel like royalty. The finger sandwiches were delicious, second only to the scones and mandatory devonshire cream. The carrot cake and mocha pastries were very good, however the cherry one has a topping that looks like shaving cream and is not up to par with the quality of the other delicate finger food offerings. We enjoyed our time there a lot and would gladly go back soon!"

"My mom, sister, daughter and I had a great time at the Brown Palace tea, the third year in a row we've gone together. The scones were terrific. One glitch was that my mom and I didn't get the chocolate truffles that were supposed to come with our order - we only realized it as we were walking to our car. The other glitch was that two of us ordered a tea that was supposed to "pair nicely" with the honey made from bees on the Brown Palace roof. That's what the menu said and that's why we chose it. We found out after the tea was served that they were out of the special honey, and by the way, it would cost extra to buy the honey. So a little disappointing."

"May 30th I treated my mother and daughter to tea at the Brown Palace. It was my daughter's and my second time to the Brown Palace for tea and my mother's first. It was just as beautiful and exceptional as I remembered. The entire experience is completely cherished. My mother said it brought back memories of her grandmother taking her to tea in Denver when she was a child. A family tradition will continue on for many years at the Brown Palace enjoying tea and my loved ones company.

"I was ready for a change of pace for a special occasion lunch and Brown Palace High Tea really fit the bill. Not only is it in a richly historical lobby of a great hotel, elegant antique furniture, but it also resurrects a tradition from the past. The egg salad in a tiny pastry shell was a delight that I have never experienced before but so where the scones with Devonshire cream and the other tea sandwiches. How can any lunch not be great when dessert is included! There were four different desserts for each of us. The tea was wonderful and also felt like dessert when i added cream to it. We were so full from the food that we had to take a doggy bag for the rest of it. I would love to go back."

"The Brown Palace is so incredibly beautiful and classy, I think it would be impossible not to have an amazing time dining there. The Afternoon Tea is perfect and oh so classy. The setting is beautiful, and the soft piano playing in the background really sets the mood. Every single item of food was delicious, especially the scones and chocolate dessert bites. The tea was a perfect blend and the waitstaff came along quite often to refill the hot water. We were offered more sandwiches, which was such a lovely surprise, and we bought some of the tea to take home and everybody loves it. To be honest, I don't think afternoon tea gets much better than this."

"There are other tea houses in Denver to be sure, but the Brown Palace is the place where you feel perfectly natural wearing a pretty dress and handing the keys to your jalopy to the valet. The atmosphere is pure elegance and if you can get a traditional tea table at a sofa or armchair, more the better. That said, the price is absolutely exorbitant for very mediocre food. It may be worth the money for the spectacle of your first visit there. But you don't go back because the food was so delicious. For a $100 tea (lunch) for two, the food should be much better and the ambiance and fairly ordinary service doesn't make up for the vast difference in quality to price. It feels like fake elegance. Kind of the Casa Bonita of English high tea."

"Brown Palace is a historic gem located in downtown Denver. As my first time setting foot inside, I was excited to experience the afternoon tea with family that were visiting. We were seated quickly next to the piano player and the hostess gave us plenty of time to review our choices. The interior decor was wonderful to look at and the food was good. Our server left us to ourselves for the majority of the time, only coming by to check our tea pots and refill them with hot water. Unfortunately she only had the habit of checking one pot at the table, which left mine to get chilled in not being refilled as often. You pay for the experience and location, not neccessarily the food or drink. Enjoyable but not something to do often."

"The tea was a little expensive but I was fine paying for the experience. Not a lot of food for the money, but the we were asked if we wanted more sandwiches which we readily said yes to. Although we were not in a hurry, we did not get punctual service. It seemed like there was one main server. She was excellent and very friendly, but it looked as though she had the entire room with a little help from another person. I finally had to ask for our check from the hostess. It is a lovely experience for something out of the usual lunch experience. If I lived in Denver I would not pay the cost very often, but as we were from another state, it was an enjoyable treat with my daughter. It would have been a waste on my husband or sons. Lovely though."

"This is one of those experiences everyone local must have and when you visit, it's on the to do list. A great old-world experience, an occasion to get dressy or business casual if you prefer. The Darjeeling is fantastic and loose leaf tea is of course the standard. Be sure to use the double devonshire cream for scones!!"

"Had booked the last appointment (4pm) on a Friday. Party of 4 (2 vegetarians). There were several tea options. We enjoyed the house Oolong and Jasimine - both which were very good. We had cucumber, tuna and eggsalad sandwiches. Two different delighfully sinful scones and several pastries. On request they brought us some delicous capriese tea sandwiches. Refills of sandwiches were complimentary. A three piece jazz ensemble played for most of the two hours we were there. Tea is served in the lobby on small tea tables, sofas and chairs. The wait staff was friendly and checked on us often. It was a wonderful way to spend my 50th birthday --worth the money for a special occasion."

The seating was awkward for a group of four - the table was long and so the two people seated at each end were not able to converse. "Wonderful atmosphere, food and service. Took my mother for her birthday. The vallet James was prompt and courteous. Only $10! Our server was Issac and was so nice to us! He must have found out from open table that it was my moms birthday an the piano player started playing happy birthday and gave her a cheesecake!!! She was so happy!!! "I have had tea at the Brown Palace once or twice a year for about the last fifteen years and have only had one medeocre experience. As usual the staff was incredibly friendly, the pianist was charming and the tea and snacks were delicious! After almost two hours had past, my friend and I both reflected on how time seems to be suspended at the Brown Palace and can get away from you. This was also my five month old daughter's first tea experience and she was a hit with the staff, of course. Overall, a wonderful experience and a great place to celebrate a special occasion or teach your young daughter how to be a lady!"

"The atmosphere is very relaxing with lovely surroundings. Pianist played beautifully as background. Loved his selections.
Servers were friendly but not obtrusive.
There were 3 of us and we were not impressed with the pumpernickel sandwiches (dry) and we preferred the little egg sandwiches of the past instead of the little shells used that day. The caramel apple thingy was not delicious.....
All in all we always enjoy our Tea at the Brown which has been birthday and mother's day celebration several times."

"Our Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace was a delightful way to spend a snowy afternoon and celebrate a 60th birthday. The food was done to perfection and sized as appropriate for a tea. Though we were is Colorado, if you closed your eyes, we could have been at the Plaza in NY or Raffles in Singapore. Truly an example of the way things still should be done!"

"The staff members were WONDERFUL! Always checking up on me, but in a non-intrusive kind of way. It was my first time there and a recommendation from Mom. I thoroughly loved my time enjoying the tea, finger foods (which filled me up), and the relaxing piano music. A must for anyone visiting Denver!"

"The service was excellent but the food only so so. The sandwiches were extremely small and the egg salad cups were barely bite sized. They also served cucumber sandwiches. I have afternoon tea all over the world and only in America do they serve cucumber sandwiches. My 12 year old grandson said that next time we would go to a tea room up in Georgetown where "they serve bigger sandwiches". Also I felt that the $32 price tag was extremely high for the limited amount of food served. Probably the last time I will go there for tea."

"We took our three children here for a pre-Easter treat. The setting is elegant, however when we arrived the carpet and seating were covered with crumbs and even a fork from the previous guests. When I asked if it could be cleaned, I was told that "maybe" housekeeping could be contacted. Instead, our waiter did his best to use a carpet sweeper but it was not very effective. While the tea service is unlimited, the finger sandwiches, scones, chocolates and champagne cocktails (virgin for the children) are not. The price per person is fixed, however we did not receive a fair or adequate amount of food given the size of our party. Naturally, we were still hungry when we left. The most expensive tea ever!"

"First time for high tea with two female family members. Everything met my expectations.
The servers were the best part. Brown Palace can be proud of their staff from the doormen to the concierge to the lady giving the tour afterwards. They have been properly trained just plain lovely time."

"We had a very pleasant experience on our second visit with our small granddaughter to the afternoon tea. She loves the ambiance and especially the music. Both the pianist and harpist acknowledged her interest with special attention. We explained the importance of tea rituals in England."

"This was my first time visit and I'm very impressed. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. I didn't tell the staff it's my friends birthday but they noticed the gift I gave. They brought out a cupcake with candle and had the pianist play happy birthday I really appreciate their attention to details and the polite/proper responses to all our requests. I'm definitely going back and will tell all my friends what a great place it is!"
