Mount Hill Tavern provides Harrisburg with bold American flavors, exceptional service, & an extensive wine program. Our casual menu offers our unique presentation of some classic items as well as new innovative creations from one of the areas top chefs. We have a full bar as well as a beer list featuring craft beers on draft. We are so pleased with the final look & feel which pays homage to the historical relevance of the location & incorporates updated interior design components. One will find an abundance of historical materials & colors integrated with modern restaurant concepts. We have two levels of seating indoors in addition to our bar, as well as a large seating area outdoors on our patio.

"We ordered a whole Cornish hen and only received half. Also, menu listed home fried potatoes to be served and we got wild rice. After mentioning this to the server, we were brought the potatoes. The food was good for Mother's Day but not outstanding. Not the usual service that we are used to there."

"We were soooo disappointed to go for Mother's Day and have to order off a very limited special menu. The food was good but the portions were way too small and extremely overpriced. You shouldn't have to pay $32 for a 5 oz steak (yes, 5 oz.!) and eggs and not get at least a dinner salad with it. Won't ever go back on a holiday where there is a special menu."

"I've driven by this place way too many times to count and always wanted to visit. I finally went this past Friday evening and had a great time. The prices are a little expensive compared to your run of the mill chains, but this place has a nice atmosphere and the food was great. We had the Flash Fried Calamari as an appetizer which came drizzled with a sweet chili sauce (which reminded me of Kikkoman's Thai Style Chili Sauce) and I had the Pan Seared Scallops as my entree and substituted asparagus for the kale as the vegetable. The waitress was also very knowledgeable about the history of the building and was very sociable. This is definitely a place to visit if you're looking for something different and it's in a very convenient location."

"Our table was ready upon arrival, in a little corner by a window. The building itself is amazing, inside and out. The crab chowder was the best this Maryland girl had ever eaten. Scallops were prefect and the grain mustard really set it off. My husband had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. We even ordered dessert, which we normally dont do, just because we hated to walk away saying we hadnt tried every course they offer. The entre' menu is limited on choice but after seeing how amazing each dish was I came to appreciate the work that goes into making each dish some of the best food I have ever put in my mouth. I even informed the cook, who is a client of ours, that he can pay in rolls and crab soup...yes folks..its THAT good!"

"We used to enjoy going to this restaurant. Something seems to have happened in the kitchen that caused the quality of the food to go down. Well presented - just not very tasty. The medallions and shrimp scampi pasta was completely devoid of any flavor. Stuffed salmon special was equally as on thrilling. Staff was fine ...ambience is good but we left without having dessert because we were so disappointed. It's too bad... The facility is really beautiful. Too bad the food is so lacking!"

"The Mount Hill Tavern accommodated our lunch group of 13 by seating us in a separate room and seating was arranged so we could all comfortably converse across the tables to everyone. The food was excellent the service was amazing. Our server made us feel like we were her only customers, although I know that to be untrue. Everyone had a wonderful experience (even the lactose intolerant guy who had special instructions for every aspect of his order)."

"The food was very good but unfortunately our service was fair, at best. Our waitress seemed unwilling to allow our group of 4 to have a leisurely dinner. She kept pushing us to order and then after dinner she stopped returning to the table (despite the fact that most of her tables had left). We sat with empty wine and water glasses for at least the last hour. We left at 10:00 p.m. to go somewhere else for a drink because it was clear that we were not going to be served--the staff was ready to go home."

"We visited the Mount Hill Tavern on Valentine's day weekend. They had what I Think was a more limited menu for the occasion. It is a very nice old stone mansion with simple but elegant decor. Service was very good. We had the crab cakes and the Delmonico steak . Food was piping hot when served and my steak was cooked as ordered. I would say the steak was good but not excellent. Crab cakes were nice lump meat and tasty. We started with the mixed green salad with strawberries and blueberries and a champagne dressing which was very good. We will return. Nice evening."

"The restaurant design and decore is very nice. The bar is quite small however and there is only a small TV for the bar area. Seating on the 2nd floor was poorly arranged. Tables placed too close together. Two people in our party ordered the Lobster Bisque for $8 and it was basically a puree with no pieces of lobster in it. Meals did not come with a salad option; that was an extra charge. We had a 7pm reservation. Our meals did not come out until almost 8pm. Crab cakes came with an odd side of corn and sweet potato shreds or some sort. Poor selection of options to go with the main course. Our bill for 3 people without any alcohol was $83.00 For the price we found the food quality and service very much lacking."

"For 2 adults 2 drinks, appetizer, soup/salad, and meal $144. Unfortunately our meal was not impressive for the cost. We have been at many fine dining restaurants and have no problem paying higher price for a meal as long as it is worth it in taste & quality, however Bonefish grill not only has better drinks and definitely better food but higher quality in taste and ingredients for a much lower price. My husband got Lobster Bisque and unfortunately it was milk and seafood base and no lobster, Its a shame when he could have eaten the soup out of a straw. I normally try to reframe from bad mouthing a restaurant however instead of putting more energy in the ambiance maybe they should spend more time with the quality of food."

"We ate here a couple of times and love the food. This time we were in the smaller room which was very quiet and romantic until a large and very loud group came. No fault of the restaurant's. Next time we'll ask to sit near the fireplace."

"The food for both my husband was not good. We feel that Mt. Hill menu
and food quality has deteriorated. We used to love it. It is convenient
but we have not enjoyed the food the last few times we' e been there
The manager asked us about our experience when we were leaving
we told him the truth and be didn't offer any remedy such as money off
our bill or a gift card to try again. We would have expected more from
what we thought was a good restaurant. We don't usuallyike to complain
but we rely want them to do well."
