"One of our favorite places for sushi but it was very disappointing this last visit. We placed our sushi orders & my husband's were delivered at the same time via food runner, while I sat almost 10 min. waiting for mine before our server stopped by. There was no one in the vicinity during that time whom we could stop to ask about my order. Our server checked on my order & found it sitting in the kitchen instead of at the sushi counter, but no explanation as to why it had been left there unattended. No apology or compensation was offered for the error or long delay. Also, the quality of the salmon used in our dishes was not that good, which is a rare occurance for this restaurant to which we normally give high marks for."

"The people at my table who ordered sushi loved their meal. Those that ordered steak hated their meal. Unfortunately, I ordered the rib eye steak. This steak was very grissly with more fat than meat.
We also had a toddler with us. By the time we sat down to end of meals, more then 2 hours went by. Our waitress had a large party which seemed to get all her attention. She was very nice and pleasent when she stopped by, but her focus was clearly elsewhere."

"We had reservations at 11:45 and were seated at 11:50 but that was the extent of the quick service we did not begin to get our food until 1:13. We ordered our food quickly and then waited. We did have a manager stop by at 12:50 letting us know our meals were late but did not offer anything to tide over until the food came. I finally told our waitress to bring out whatever was ready whenever it was and so slowly we were delivered our meals. The waitress was great, I think one of my boys had 6 full glasses of pop before the meals were served. It was severely disappointing as we eat here frequently, not sure if that will change but will try some other options for sure for full family dining (7 people)"

"Food was great. We enjoyed the avocado egg rolls and a fresh sashimi sampler in addition to our main entrees. All were very good. Love their ultimate brownie dessert as well. Atmosphere is not too loud but comfortable. The only thing I would have changed is my drink. The hibiscus margarita is more like a mixed drink than a version of a margarita. Great night out!"

"Great place - give it a try! My family celebrated my 50-ish-year-old aunt's birthday with an early Saturday dinner. Our party included aunt, grandma, mom, dad, 4-year-old and 1-year-old. The kids loved looking at the beautiful, interesting decor. The adults loved the food - the sea bass was AMAZING! They even sent out a little birthday cake for us to share at no csot. I'd love to go back and make use of their outdoor dining this summer!"

"Went for lunch during the week. Took over an hour to get our order of 2 salads, a sandwich and a sushi roll. Then made the mistake of accepting the manager's offer of dessert on the house. There was 4 of us, but they could only give us 1 dessert to share. Why even offer? I'll definitely try it again as it's a cool place, but probably stick to evenings."

"I took my 29 year old daughter to Kona Grill for her birthday April 19th as it is close to her work place. We sat near the fireplace in a large room. The service was good and food was very satisfying. Because it was the actual day of her birthday, I asked if there was a special dessert for birthdays and our waitress said yes, a red velvet cupcake was available. However, she must have gotten busy with other customers because we waited what seemed a long time for it and finally had to leave to get back to work. That was our only dissatisfaction. Will return again because overall experience was good. :)"

"I don't think I'm a hard diner to please, but I thought that everything about this place was just mediocre. I met there with a couple of friends for drinks and some sushi on a Monday night. Service was really slow even though there were very few people dining. The sushi was some of the worst I've had. They had very few options with raw fish (lots of crab and shrimp) so I ordered the only couple of true sushi options on the menu. The fish wasn't really cut into pieces but more-so blended together like a fish pate. The flavor was OK but I couldn't eat much of it because of the texture. Seems like others have had a really good experience here. If I go back, maybe I'll just stay away from the sushi."

"The food was outstanding - I thoroughly enjoyed the sushi we ordered (Checkerboard Roll & Lobster/Shrimp Roll). It was super tasty and made as we asked (without sesame seeds). Our server was very attentive, we really enjoyed her. However, there was a male server taking care of tables near us and he had zero awareness of people sitting near his table...he had no problem bumping into me as he was moving around his table, even at one point trying to squeak through a spot where he almost tipped over a chair at our table, but failed to say anything to us. If I had never eaten here before, based on this one server, I wouldn't come back. However, I have eaten there before and will go again but making sure I don't get seated in that same table"

"Menu includes something for everybody. Having a daughter who's eats very little meat, it's a perfect place for us to dine with her because she can select sushi, fish, pasta, etc., my husband can order a steak and I can eat whatever. And all of it is good, including your desserts."

"My husband and I were looking at restaurants and had chosen 3 that were contenders. After looking at the on-line menus and what was on the menus for all 3 restaurants, we chose Kona-Grill. I was not interested in ever trying sushi but my husband chose 4 menu items he thought would be not to weird for me. I loved the seared scallops with little pieces of crispy bacon on top and then the tuna rolls were also a big hit for me. He loves sushi so loved all 4 menu items. We probably could have skipped ordering a main course. As a result we ended up taking our main course meal home as a leftover meal for the next day. We also very much enjoyed that even though we were in Eden Prairie it felt like we were away somewhere romantic."

"I was a little worried when we first walked in because the restaurant had a very strong 'fishy' smell.
I got a sake flight and our table got a large platter of sushi to share; it was all fantastic! Our server was outstanding and the manager came by once or twice and was very friendly. I'll definitely be going back."

"This was my second visit to Kona Grill, I had a colleague from out of town with me and wanted to give her a unique dining experience. It was pretty busy as it was a Thursday night, and the noise level was kind of high in the main dining room. Kona Grill has a great selection of sushi rolls, I got the steak and lobster roll which was great, my dining companion had the sashimi tuna and she said it tasted fresh and great. She also ordered the hibiscus margarita and it had a great flavor. I ordered for my main course the dish special, the baramundi, it wasn't anything spectacular, it tasted like any other fish so I would skip that. Overall we enjoyed our meal and our server was very attentive to us."
