"We had awful service on at the Lobster Pot. We scheduled through Open Table and were called immediately thereafter and advised that since they were so busy, they would need to push our reservation back. When we arrived, there were no other diners at the restaurant. Upon sitting down for dinner, it was apparent that our waiter was frazzled. He had no idea what he was doing and had an attitude regarding every request we made. He didn't write down our orders when he took them and therefore had to return to the table to verify if he got them correct. He forgot who ordered what, outright forgot salads and entrees, and complained that he was "also waiting" for our food to be ready as well. The food, once we did receive it, was decent."

"Although the restaurant is comfortable, quiet and has great service, it's namesake on the menu is sorely lacking in portion size. I ordered a single Maine lobster tail, anticipating a decent size tail since it is the key enticement for the restaurant. Sadly, the tail had the length, width and depth of an old, small flip phone, but had the price of a whole lobster in most other locales. The humor of the meal was found in the size of the tail's shell, which was easily 2 to 3 times the size of the tail itself.
On a positive note, our server (Brandy) was kind, gracious and extremely attentive."

My wife had the Surf & Turf, I had the rock shrimp; my daughter and her friend had steaks, and all were great, with large portions.
We all shared a nice bottle of Cabernet. White cloth tablecloth and napkins, great ambience, a classy place.
A little pricey, but worth it for the great food and very good service, and they do offer a lite menu now (inserted in the main menu.)
And complimentary valet parking. We will be back again!"

"I live in Tampa and had seen this place in passing now & then. It is a TOTAL tourist trap. The food is okay, but WAY too high for what you get. For this kind of money there are much better menus in DT St Pete or Tampa. If you are staying this area make the effort to get off gulf dr and you'll find much better value & better views."

"My husband and I have been coming to the lobster pot for over 21yrs on our anniversary and we always enjoyed our self. It was like a special night out and I really looked forward to it. We missed a couple of years that we didn't get to go, so my husband said we were going back this years. We were very disappointed. It just is not the same. And we didn't get the special anniversary dessert plate that they always gave us which made it more special.just the little things which make people happy."

"The salad was very ordinary. The salad was made with head lettuce instead of higher quality romain or mixed spring greens that you would expect from a rather pricey upscale restaurant. A very plain salad without much garnishment. The salad dressings were very good however.

"The food, especially the Lobster Bisque, was terrific. It attracts an older crowd, so the hard of hearing tend to "share" their conversation. Our waiter was okay, but he missed our appetizer and was advised about an extra glass of wine after we had finished dessert. Would we return? Only if lobster was truly craved."

"now open for lunch.....not knowing it was their first day they were serving lunch....nice setting an d great service....ordered a lobster ROLL but apparantely computer took it as a lobster....waiter said sorry would we like the lobster...had it very good and only the price of the lobster roll....nice mistake to our benefit......nice local plce and recommend"

"I was a little wary to try this restaurant because it was listed as 1,000 pts. It turned out to be very nice, however a little expensive - 30+ for a single lobster tail, accompanied by a salad, vegetable and fantastic garlic mashed potatoes . My only gripe with this restaurant was the price difference between a Martini up, and a Martini on the rocks - a 2$ difference! ( martini up was more). When I told the waiter we had ordered both up ( and he brought the wrong one)- he didn't want to take the initiative to correct the bill.
I would try this restaurant again because I think it has potential."
