"Greeted with smiles and quickly seated. Our waitress was engaging and helpful. My daughter and I shared a caesar salad. Her main course was the balsamic chicken with a baked potato. I had the Mother's Day special Seafood Trio with fingerling potatoes, substituting asparagus for the broccoli. Perfect amounts. Great flavors. We're not ones to usually order dessert, but decided to share the cheesecake trio. Again, perfect slivers to top the meal off. Overall, a great evening out!"

"We enjoy the Walnut Grill every time we dine there. We can have a salad, sandwich or elegant dinner and be pleased. The staff was very accommodating on a busy "hockey" night, so we were able to watch the game without the "crowd" noise in the bar. But we prefer the dining room on any other occasion. Looking forward to the outdoor patio in the summer."

"My husband and I went to the Walnut Grill to celebrate his birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I was very disappointed that they were out of Osso Buco but the waiter did an excellent job helping me to pick another entree. I had the mixed grill with the filet, salmon and tuna prepared perfectly. The rice pilaf was delicious as was the Caesar salad. We have only been here one other time as we are new to Pittsburgh but we will certainly return."

"I visited the Walnut Grill in Fox Chapel to celebrate my birthday. I was at the Grill one other time with a friend and I wanted my family to have an experience like my first. Regardless of the 90 minute commute, it was well worth it. Although the outside of the building is not appealing, the inside is quite unique. From the layout to the lighting. The facility was clean without any offensive odors. The service was prompt and comprehensive. The menu is unique and we found it difficult to choose from the many selections. The Gluten free menu was a plus for my daughter and the drink for "Erica" which is her name was deemed as remarkable. The food was outstanding. We hope to return soon. Thank You"

"I have come to Walnut Grill for several years....and I LOVE LOVE coming to eat there!! I have brought several friends there to celebrate their birthdays, and it is always a fun meal as well as a good MEAL. I HAve never been disappointed in my food, or drinks. EVERyone who works there is SOOooooo very pleasant, and they make you feel like you are eating from their grandmother's kitchen! I have eaten at Walnut Grill ...during lunch, or evening...on the deck, and at the bar..and have NEVER EVER had a bad meal or VISIT!!They are very prompt,and attentive waiters who are there with a smile on their faces and very attentive to all your needs. I LOVE eating at the Walnut GRILL!"

"The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We were seated promply. Our waiter, Rick, was exceptional. He knew the menu, recommended items that were perfect and made certain that our food was presented professionally and our drinks were always refilled promptly.
There was a separate room for dinner and we ate there. The bar was full and we stopped in the check on the score of the hockey game. Everybody was enjoying the atmosphere including us. There were five of us and we all plan to return soon."

"I was eager to go to the fox chapel location, having been very pleased with my experience at the mt lebo restaurant. Perhaps it was simply what I ordered but I was not as pleased with the food here. It was more bland and I'd say it was simply OK. The ambience was actually very nice however I downgraded my rating because the temperature was extremely high. I was not dressed especially warmly but I was sweating through my entire meal."

"The food was delicious! Our reservation was "lost" and I had to prove to the hostess that I had a reservation with a hard copy. We were meeting people for the first time and would have liked to have a quiet table/booth in the dining room. Insted we were set on high chairs in the bar and couldn't hear each other speak! I dined here prior to this time with my family and enjoyed the atmosphere and food which was why I chose it again. Disappointed."

Also, for the first-timers, they should understand that on the Mall side of the building the restaurant sign says "Walnut Grove." On the Freeport Road side, it says, "Walnut Grill." It confused us; maybe others who approach from the Mall side will not be as literal as we were."

"Overall good dining experience for Valentine's Day. However, I was deeply disappointed in the crab cakes we ordered on the side of our main entrees. I had ordered them on other occasions, and they were quite good. I highly recommended them to everyone dining with us, but the two that were ordered were burnt on the bottom terribly, and somewhat on the top. It was really busy, so we just cut the bottoms off and ate them. For the amount of money we spent on two people ($112.00), we should, in hind sight, sent them back."
