The romantic Milieu of Cuba effortlessly transports you from Manhattan to Havana. Cuba offers live music and a menu filled with delicious traditional cuisine. The restaurant offers a fascinating and charming escape to its own "Little Havana on Thompson Street".
"This was my second time dining at Cuba with my boyfriend and we loved it again. The food is excellent, and the drinks are phenomenal. Just be sure to request a table downstairs or else you won't be able to hear even the words coming out of your own mouth! Would definitely go back again!"

"This place has yummy Cuban food and even yummier drinks and cocktails. The brunch drink special is a great deal and the waiters are very generous with the drinks. My favorite is the mojito. Make reservations because this place can get packed. The only downside is that if you are seated downstairs, it can get pretty noisy."

"This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend who used to live in NYC and our party of three (3) was not disappointed: the atmosphere was great, including the live band, the sangria was delicious, and everything we had on the menu was notable in its own right. The service was outstanding, especially our waiter, Winston, who was so fantastic; he made our birthday celebration a night to remember. Thank you!"

"My third or fourth time here. Their filette de parago (snapper) and vica frita are really to die for. Mojitos and other rum drinks are great. Very affordable for NY and the long lines outside stay long until well after 9 PM. Make reservations or keep your fingers crossed. Their are often bachelorette parties or louder patrons in this somewhat smallish place but if anything it adds to the lively ambiance. Highly recommend it for when you want to have good time with a group."

"This was my first time at Cuba and I'm definitely returning again! The food & drinks were great! The montadito de chorizo, pinchos, tostones con mojo and Mojito clasico were very tasteful! The paella valenciana was good but could of been better (it was missing chorizo). However, the overall experience was delightful! I can't wait to return! :)"

"This was my first time dining at Cuba with friends and overall we were very pleased with the food, service, and ambiance! The live music was great and our waiter Winston was very friendly, funny and cool. The food was amazing! I recommend the pollo guajira, which was chicken with sweet plantains, mozzarella, zucchini all in a white wine sauce which was excellent and tasty, their seasoned black beans and rice are a must have! We ordered an few bowls for the table. The only set back we experienced was we weren't particularly fond of being seated in the back private room area, it was cramped and didn't have a good view of the band, also it was a bit dim. Cuba is a great place to dine especially if you're in the mood for some exotic food!"

"It was my favorite NY restaurant when I lived here before, and Sunday night's re-visit did not disappoint. I had the red snapper ceviche, tostones con mojo, vaca frita, and a mojito. Cuba has the best Cuban food in the city! I hope to be back again this week before my work trip ends. Thank you, Cuba!"

"Not only do they have a great deal with their bottomless brunch, their food is amazing and just the right portion to satisfy you. The tostones rellenos and ropa vieja are really good. The only thing that I didn't like as much is that their cocktails are a bit too sweet for me, but that's just a preference thing."

"We are repeat diners. This is one of our favorite places to bring out of town visitors. None of them have ever been disappointed in their meal. Authentic Cuban cuisine(love the Lechon Asado & Vaca Frita), portions are filling (rarely have room for dessert!), the cocktails are powerful (try the unlimited cocktail brunch), music is fun. Lunch and early dinner (pre-7pm) are kid-friendly. They are well-reviewed, so dinner reservations are recommended, especially for groups. We'll be back!"

"My friends and I came here for lunch and found that their food was delicious and reasonably priced. Their AYCD brunch was also a great deal- $10.95 and you can choose among several different drinks. The only down side was their service was a little spotty- it took awhile to get our orders in and to get the server's attention every time."

"It took a very long time to see a waiter, and when we did he never put our order in. I had to go over to him and ask why it was taking so long to get our food. The manager came over and said they were having computer issues, but every one else around us was getting their orders. When the food fibally came the order was all screwed up. We were comped drinks and dessert, but it still it was a bad experience."

"The service was the worst I have ever experienced, we sat at the table for ten minutes before we were served and as another reviewer stated the busboy spills water all over the table and does nothing about it! The waiter rushed through our order as if we were an inconvience to him! We got our appetizer before we even received our drinks, what happened to the dining experience ? After our waiter took our order we never saw him again! We sat waiting 25 minutes waiting, after asking three times for our check! The hostess was professional, she came after we were seated and asked how we were, to early in the meal, but it was the only professional thing I saw in this establishment, although she never came back after that!"

"This is the NY restaurant for great, modestly priced, Cuban cuisine. The selection is plentiful, the portions are large, and the food is delicious. We tried the oxtails, braised pork, black beans and rice, plantains - we couldn't go wrong with anything. This is a real, down home, West Village, neighborhood restaurant. Crowded and noisy, but in a very friendly way, full of people enjoying the food and the company."

"The food was awesome. I would love to go back there and try the other food on the menu. The downside part of the restaurant is that the noise level was too loud. I literally had to yell across the table to talk to my friends. Also the tables were tiny. It was hard placing dishes and drinks on the table"

"We made a reservation for our party of 5 well in advance of the date we wanted to go to Cuba. We were given a table in the basement at a very noisy, crowded area of the restaurant. As much as I enjoy coming to Cuba, if I come back, I guess I will need to specify that we do not want to be seated in this awful, claustrophobic area. This made our otherwise delightful experience very uncomfortable. We have looked forward to coming back to Cuba since the first time we were there last year. I asked about another table when we were shown where we were being seated. There was a lovely area that was vacant behind the main dining room. I was told that was reserved. But I had made a reservation also. This was less than a pleasant experience."

"Small, 1-room restaurant. Appetizer Chorizo was yummy. Side Fried Yuca was terrific. Entree Vaca Frita was tasty but chewy (I like it that way). My dinner mate didn't care for his Pollo Manigua. Waitstaff was always hustling. Dinner for two with appetizers and 2 cocktails each and tip was $110."

"Most certainly not a scenic view. A garage is across the street and when a car pulls out at night, the headlights beam straight into the center dinning area. Waiter was MIA several times, but otherwise friendly. The food was very good."

"I've been wanting to try this place for awhile now and I'm glad I finally did! I came here for my birthday with my family and they loved it. My favorites were the calamari appetizer and paella marinara. The only issue I had here were with the hostesses. I was running late and they were kind enough to seat my family. However, once I arrived and said I was meeting my family, one of the hostesses rudely told me to wait "in line". Once I was able to talk to the other hostess, they couldn't find my reservation and just told me to walk to the back to see if I can find them. Yikes. I would've expected better from a restaurant like this, but it is what it is. I was ultimately happy with the meal."

"The Ginger Caipirinha was delicious. The lechon was flavorful and moist, loved the side of yucca. The fried calamari with tamarind vinaigrette was different, but in a good way! The arugula salad was good, the apples and candied walnuts were a nice touch. Service was courteous and prompt. The restaurant is really cute, especially the back room. It's set up in a way that makes you feel like you're sitting outdoors under a canopy. The back room would be great for a small group; or a romantic table for two."

"We have been eating at Cuba for years and the food seems to get better and better. It's good to go to a New York restaurant and be the only out-of-towners there. We usually visit the city once a year and lunch at Cuba is always a highlight for us. Normally we have lunch here on a weekday when the crowd is not as large, but this time we were here on Saturday and the place was packed. Can't wait for my next trip to the land of sweet plantains!"

"Tried all day to make a reservation but, after I called around 8:00pm, they were able to take us within a half-hour. On Valentine's Day. It was busy and fun with live music. And everyone had a smile on their faces. Although it was a little dark, the ambiance, live music, and candlelit tables definitely set the mood for romance on Valentine's Day. The pre-fix menu included either a pitcher of Sangria and complimentary cigars. Our server was exceptional. He catered to our specific needs and made us feel right at home. Cuba gave us a perfect Valentine's Day! Thank you!!"

"This is our second time at Cuba. We booked for Valentine's Day because we enjoy live music. However, this time we were seated on the lower level which we didn't know existed. Live music is on the first floor. There were two empty tables at the front windows on level one, but we didn't ask to be reseated. We both enjoyed our meals (suckling pig & seafood casserole); however, we were seated near the bar on the lower level. On at least 5 occasions my husband was jostled by the waiters as they came to collect or order drinks. One small issue that concerned me is that the female, blonde hostess (possibly manager?) walked around to greet every table & refill water. She did not approach us at all. We were the only minority couple in the room."
