"In a word: outstanding! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by gracious staff and it only got better from there. Wonderful menu, ambiance, and service. Will definitely be back and have already recommended ONE to friends that went 2 days after and they loved it as much as I did. Also on Sun/Mon they have a 3 course prix-fixe meal for $25...can't beat it."

"Went because of a promotional coupon which finally allowed me an excuse to try One. Fantastic service from the moment of walking in the door. The calamari is fantastic and my hanger steak was cooked to perfection and my dining companion said that the 1/2 chicken was the juiciest chicken he'd ever eaten. Highly recommend. I will definitely be making a return visit."

"I decided to give it a try again because 5 yrs. ago we didn't have such a good experience. well i gave it a second chance and as much as i hate to say it i will never go back. the waiter was just fair-there were 5 of us and only 1 person liked their dish.
the salmon and tile fish was so salty we could hardly eat it. i should of had it taken back but it had already taken an hour to get our food.
sorry but never again!!!!"

"I have eaten at One Midtown Kitchen in the past but requested a quiet table this time and was seated on the enclosed patio. It was a wonderful location since it was still daylight and you looked out onto open green space. This is probably the only area of the restaurant that is actually quiet but it served as a wonderful space to sit and actually be able to carry on a conversation. Our waiter, Joseph, gave great recommendations for food and drink choices, also."

"We absolutley love this restaurant but hit it on a bad night. The server didn't know the foods on the menu - when we asked her to describe two items she read directly off the menu. Her service was a bit slow. One of us had the duck and it was the toughest we had ever had and another person had a pasta dish and it had very little flavor. We were so disappointed when we left."

"One Midtown as of last year was my absolute favorite restaurant in Atlanta, such great vibe and the food was amazing. Since that team they have brought in a new chef and it is a noticeable drop off food wise. The entrees are no where near the caliber of what they used to be and the menu favorites that used to make my mouth water are either changed up with a new and not good spin, or gone all together. It saddened me that this was the case, I literally sat there and felt like i would miss the memory of what the restaurant once was knowing that I would not be back for food that was that bad."

"Service and ambiance were fantastic. The food was a little different than expected; the menu, in an attempt to be chic, is not very descriptive and the actual dishes were a bit of a surprise. That said, all food was more than satisfactory. Lavender martini was an unexpected highlight. Desserts were very good.

"Great atmosphere but food quality has degenerated in the last 6 months. Great steak frites have turned inedible. Hanger steak too tough to enjoy, the best calamari in town has turned average. "Usually, the food at One Midtown Kitchen is outstanding. On Valentine's Day this year, the food was HORRIBLE. We had the baked 1/2 chicken and it was poorly seasoned and barely cooked thoroughly. The menu was a special menu prepared for the occasion, but it too was not up to standards. I choose the restaurant because of previous experiences there, but if it were my first time dining at One, I would NOT return."

"Great food for a very reasonable price. This restaurant has a lot of interesting menu items, and supposedly the menu changes daily. "We are long term patrons of One Midtown Kitchen and have always enjoyed dining there. Unfornately our visit there on Valentine's Day did not live up to the high standard to which we have grown accustomed. We are vegetarians and one of the reasons we have frequently gone to One has been the selection of vegetarian dishes. We have always been able to choose one of several options. While we are used to One's menu constantly changing, we noticed this visit that there was only one vegetarian option. The more frustrating factor was when we questioned the waiter about it, he essentially blew us off and was rushing us to place our order. I didn't end up eating and the waiter didn't try to find an alternative or even seem to care."

"Hadn't been to One in a while. Nice to see Bob Amick personally working his magic the night before Valentine's. The place was as energetic and full as always. Lots of beautiful people there; watching the crowd is half the fun. Our server was excellent. The food was good to great. The cod was fresh and cooked perfectly. The veal breast with mushroom and bulgur had a lovely presentation and was extremely flavorful. Texture and moistness were just right. We really enjoyed ourselves."

"I wanted to take my wife to a low-key, but gourmet spot that offered a great menu with impressive views, prompt service and the ability to hear each other without shouting, and did I forget to mention without the hectic crowds on Valentine's Day. ONE Midtown Kitchen definitely fit our bill. We made an initial 7:15pm reservation, but pushed back to 9:30pm without any problem. We arrived at the door and was ushered to our table in less than 30-seconds...on Valentine's Day! This was unheard of to me, but we were charmed instantly. They seated us with a view of Piedmont Park with midtown Atlanta skyscrapers in the background. From the 28-day agend sirloin to the Pot de Creme, the entire meal was fabulous, and the wait staff impeccable."

"My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's day. ONE is really a cool place, with bare skinny bulbs hanging by wires, paper lanterns, an impressive wine wall, and rustic brick walls with faded mirrors. VERY cool atmosphere! The two gentlemen at the host stand made us feel very welcomed and talked to us on a first-name basis (Thanks, Bob)! Our server, on the other hand, was not as outgoing. We could just tell he didn't want to be there. He spent as little time as possible at our table and didn't really explain much unless we asked. The food good, though. I had the steak (yum!) and my boyfriend had the duck, which was a bit fatty. Overall, though, ONE was totally worth the snowy trip and we plan to go back soon, and you should, too!"

"I made a reservation for 6 people; I was the host.
When we arrived, the maitre 'd knew one of the guests and greeted him nicely.
However he ignored me, the host, even after asking whose reservation the name was made in (mine).
He hosted us to the table -- ignoring the others.
He asked his acquaintance if we were having any thingto drink.
He told his acquaintance who our 'dining consultant' would be.
And when the host left the table the diners all commented -- how pretentious, a dining consultant.
And th the host's acquaintance several guests said -- oh, so your buyibg dinner now.

Keepin the dining consultants attention was tough -- after all its difficult looking after so many empty tables ina restaurant.

"We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. The valet was quick and courteous when we arrived. We had a great table and the atmosphere was very romantic. The service was out of this world. We enjoyed the all you can drink wine and the selections were very nice. The food was great, but it is not a place to go with the expectation of having huge portions. The food was wonderful. We started with the cheese tray which had some great selections. When I go back, I will request that the goat cheese be substituted with another selection as it was stronger than I like. I had the scallops and my date has the duck. We both enjoyed our time there immensely."

"We went to this place late on a Thursday and it was dead but I guess that can be expected on a work night. Also, we went as it was recommended by people who live in Atlanta and who have been several times and loved it. I..............did not. Apparently there is a new chef and none of the old favorites were on the menu any longer so the people we went with who wanted to go there, were disappointed. Also, the server told us the calamari is "the best in Atlanta." let's hope not, it was awful. Literally a ridiculous amount of breading, greasy, and tasteless. The string fries are dry and tasteless. I got the skate. It was good but also very breaded. On a side note, we sat by the windows and it was freezing."

"My wife and I have noticed a decline in appetitiveness of the menu. For example: The calamary is still delicious, however the sauce that comes with it is not as good as the one they used to have with the last chef. There don't seem to be as many apeticing options on the entre menu or the small plates menu.
Also, for the first time, our waitress was mediocare. She had a hard time comunicating about the wife and food and also was hesitant to let my wife sample some wine she was hoping to get. Therefore she ended up getting something she didn't really like."

"OK let me start by saying that I have been going to ONE since it first opened, and have found it to be a consistant winner. So Dad and I figured we would go WHOLE HOG and do the Yorkshire PIG. Wow what a misstep. His was dry and mine was smothered in so much Garlic and Fennel ( maybe) and the crackling was like rubber. Dad said. "sure hope the second taste is better than the first" and I was thinking. What have they done to ONE. Well the seond bite wasnt, s they went with out question (still great customer service) and we got hanger steaks and fries. One of the few hold overs from the REAL ONE. I willl be glad when this imposter ( or chef) goes away and Bob Amick brings back the ONE we all love"

"ONE was a great experience. The service was always available, but never over bearing. We were impressed with all the items. We loved the calamari appetizer. The best part of ONE is the atmosphere. "After the reviews, One was a disappointment. While the food was not horrible, it was mediocre at best. The restaurant seems to suffer from the common problem of trying for edgy and different, but ends up with an inconsistent hodgepodge of flavors that are poorly executed. There were five us in the party, and between us, our selections ran the gamut of the menu. The cod was bland and served on what sounded to be a tantalizing bed of cauliflower couscous-instead it appeared to be simply pureed cauliflower. The lamb sausage and the cranberry tortellini were also bland and uninspiring. The hanger steak and the house cured meats were okay, but nothing more. Finally, when the kitchen tried for flavor, it was overdone and tried too hard for edgy."

"What a great all around experience. The food was excellent, the service warm and enthusiastic and the atmosphere electrifying. This was our first experience at One Midtown, and during the pandemonium of New Year's Eve to boot, yet the staff made us feel as if we were all old friends. My husband's hangar steak was flavorful and unusually tender for this cut of meat. My cod was perfectly done. The acoustics must be very well designed because despite a hearing impairment, and the boisterous revelry of the other patrons, I had no trouble hearing my dining companion or the restaurant staff. Also loved the varied and reasonably priced wine list plus the ability to order by the glass."

"I took my wife here on the recommendation of a friend and I am so glad I did! I had the hangar steak over pommes frites with blue cheese crumbles and my wife had the veal dish, which had the consistency of a crab cake (unexpected, but good nonetheless). "ONE has been a favorite of ours since it opened 8 years ago so when friends of our were visitng from London, we thought it would be the perfect place. Unfortunately there is a new chef who has changed the menu a bit and some of the long-standing favorites are gone! No more goat cheese appetizer or kit-kat dessert!

Our food was OK, not great nor up to the standard we expect. I am hoping these are just kinks they are working through-"
