"We went for Mother's Day this year. It is a nice restaurant in Vinnings and they also have a kids menu. The food was great. The service could have been a little better."

"It has been a while since my wife and I had dinner at the Old Vinings Inn. We were glad we did: the food was very good and the service was pleasant and attentive. The only negative was the room we were in was a little roudy for a completely pleasant dining experience."

"This was at least my second visit to the Old Vinings Inn. I had not been there in a very long time, but the atmosphere, service and food were still as good as it was many years ago. My daughter and I both enjoyed the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese (delicious) and then each enjoyed our entrees. She chose the lamb and substituted the carrots for asparagus. Her bread pudding of mushrooms and leeks was delicious. I chose the pecan crusted trout. It was also delicious. The green beans and tomatoes and onions were good too. I took half of my entree home as leftovers. We enjoyed our sweet server and she was attentive to bring us extra lemons, more water and bread when needed."

"Vinings Inn is a safe bet for a nice meal - it's a quaint historic gem in the heart of Vinings. My spouse and I went for our 10th wedding anniversary, since many of our restaurants of significance have closed. I ordered the salmon and my spouse the pasta and both were superb. We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were delicious, however, the size was a little disappointing. Another disappointment was that I made my reservations through Open Table and specified that it was our 10th anniversary and there was no mention made by the waitstaff. I would definitely go back for another special occasion, and recommend it to others. It's a timeless spot with great food, and a fun atmosphere upstairs in the attic bar."

"My wife loves Old Vinings Inn, it has become a tradition for our Anniversary. The food is very good. She loves the Shrimp and cheese grits. Wait staff has always been outstanding. On occasion it can get noisy, depends on who's there. Last year we had a noisy group near us, that hurt the ambiance, but this year was excellent."

"I took some business clients from out of town there for dinner and we had a wonderful experience and were able to conduct business discussions in a more relaxed setting. Good menu with Southern favorites, good service and relaxed surroundings."

"The Vinings Inn has nothing but personality!! For a place so cute you don't expect such great food, but you get that too! Its several different rooms and floors offer many different areas to gather in. Upstairs is a great bar scene and downstairs it is very warm and welcoming for meals."

"Enjoyed dining at the Inn and then enjoying drinks, live music and upbeat atmosphere at the Attic upstairs of the Vinings Inn. A great evening all in all. Food was excellent - the pork chop to die for!"

"We have been going to the Vinings Inn for years. Not sure what happened but their food was average and the service as well. I did not have a knife for half of my meal, the food was either overly rich or bland. Definitely gone south since the last time I was in there."

"Very enjoyable dining experience with a small group of 5. Service and food were both teriffic and will definitely return again from this first time experience. I am happy to recommend anyone to select this venue for a comfortable dinner out with friends and family. If you just have to work it would also be a great venue for a business meal."

"We absolutely had a wonderful time. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu, was witty but personable and efficient. He was attentive but not hovering, truly a good waiter. The lemon drop martinis were a little heavy on the alcohol, so I only ordered one, otherwise I would have had two."

"The overall ambiance was nice but we were seated in the back room looking directly the kitchen entrance. There were only two other couples in the restaurant when we were seated so by no means the first available table. The food was not well paced though the waiter was pleasant. The calamari was mostly fried tobacco onions and had waaaayyy too much chipotle sauce on them. It came out within two minutes of us ordering. The dinner salads were good but large. My husband ordered the whisky pork chop which was good but not memorable. I ordered shrimp and grits and the shrimp tasted frozen and were undercooked. Overall, it was decent but with so many great restaurants in ATL for the price (think Canoe, Horseradish Grill), I am not sure we'd return."

"Historical restaurant (1880's) with good food, pleasant ambiance and courteous service. Organic wine offering, surprisingly very good green fried tomato appetizer. Good Caesar salads ! Trout and Shrimp & grits Entrées very good. Good proportions. Back room is more private. Not a fashionable place like the neighboring "Canoe", yet is intimate, charming with history. I would go back."

"We had no idea what to expect from this quaint little restaurant and bar we pass on a daily basis. There was a sign saying live music Thurs-Sat so we were pretty excited to see what would be playing. They had an amazing band playing old school R&B and it was better than I could have imagined. We showed up 15 minutes before the kitchen closed, so we didn't have much time to debate over our food choices, but what we got was very good - the trout and the shrimp and grits."

"The food was pretty good but that's about it. We got there about 20 minutes early so they asked us to wait at the upstairs bar (understandable). But then they FORGOT to come get us when our table was ready! So instead of being a little early we were much later eating. They were in such a hurry to leave for the night (even though they had another hour before closing) that the waiter was too busy cleaning and clearing the tables to check on us. I asked for water several times before giving up and getting up myself to get the pitcher. I think they thought my boyfriend and I were too "young" for them to bother to care about us...plus they only cared about the other room (there are several rooms and we got stuck in the wrong one I guess!)"

"We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and have never had a negative experience. The food is very good and the servers are always attentive. The ambience is very nice. This last visit was the first time I felt the noise level was a bit higher than I prefer but that is to be expected since it was a very busy Saturday night. I've been during the week and it is delightfully quieter then. Will go back soon!"

"The service at this restaurant was questionable . The waitress did not know the specials, nor did she know that half the menu was not available until each of us picked an item and were told that is no longer on the menu. Ok, then don't put it on the menu! The same occurred with the wine, the bottle is ordered and we are told they do not have it, then she recommends a dessert wine for our main course. All the meats and fish ordered were overcooked and the potatoes tasted like they were reheated. The shrimp and grits were the only item cooked correctly. The place was not crowded ( only one other couple in the room) so the chef could not have been that busy. We did not bother with dessert or coffee."
