"Great cured meats and olives. Pasta and mushroom pizza were excellent. Wine was good and moderately priced. The only disappoint was the lemon olive oil cake, which was pretty dry."

"Simple and delicious is how I would describe the food at Uva. It's so refreshing to get honest, fresh ingredients on affordably priced food, and they keep it seasonal. Sad the asparagus and burrata appetizer and the baked Japanese eggplant are gone, though. Dreaming about the pizza. I'll be back soon!"

"When my wife and I bring friends to Uva Enoteca, we really enjoy the cheese and cured meat spreads on offer. It makes ordering a breeze -- just order enough variety to satisfy the entire party, add a salad to start and maybe a pizza on the end and you've got the recipe for a fantastic meal."

"We love it here. It's a fun spot in Lower Haight to get some wine, with some cured meat and cheese. We usually make an evening out of it. It's exceptional.
They also make great pasta and pizza. They have happy hour specials too, which has good wine and beer for reasonable prices."

"Great quality food, fresh ingredients, delicious wines. Other than the noise level, we have thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. I am still dreaming about that burrata salad."

"Brought a friend here from out of town, and took a chance on a place i hadn't been to before. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful fresh flavors that came out of that little kitchen that's way in the back corner. People are super nice, great menu and delicious everything! My only issue was the noise level but that wouldn't keep me from going back. Also, they have an all Italian wine list which is cool, but i wasn't familiar with anything on the list. The sommelier was really helpful and guided me to a perfect wine.. Next time i want to try their desserts which we didn't get to having when i was there. Thanks Uva Enoteca"

"I am an out of towner therefore I was super excited to visit San Francisco and eat at the wonderful restaurants. I was craving some good italian food so looking through open table I came across this restaurant and when reviewing the menu, high star rating and pics it seemed like the best option. Boy was I truly disappointed.. The service was the worst I have ever experienced . Even the easiest thing such as a coke and bread the waitress couldn't remember to give us. I saw our food prepared and sitting at the chefs completed food table to be served but it just sat there for 10 mins meanwhile the waitress was hangin out at the bar Making small talk. Finally when the food came out the apps were super oily and the food had no creativity"

"The food is wonderful, fun location (leave time for parking), good service tho a tad slow getting food. Come early if you want to talk to your companions as it gets very loud."

"Uva Enoteca never disappoints. The wine list is a pleasing selection of interesting Italian reds and whites, and the ability to get 2 oz tastes is great. The food is always very nice - the pizzas can be excellent, though the standout seems to be the verdure/antipasto dishes. Our most recent trip there suggested that things may not always be so smooth, or that there may have been changes recently. The food wasn't quite up to the standard of previous visits and the service wasn't quite as nice, with a mistaken dish, and an overall lack of attentiveness, particularly compared to our many previous visits. But definitely worth a visit, and we'll go again."

"We had minor problems with the service. They forgot about our order and as an apology they offered me a glass of wine. The pour he gave me wasn't even half of a serving. However, the food was so good that I don't care. I'd still go back and I'd recommend it."

"We went to Uva Enoteca on a Bloomspot deal as had never been before an wanted to go out in a new neighborhood. We collect wine so we were impressed with their winelist. The food was also amazing and a very good value even without the Bloomspot deal. The charcuterie is very good quality and large portions. We started with 3 meats, 3 cheeses, and marinated olives. The main dishes were a boar bolognese pasta which was perfectly al dente and yummy. The other main was a delicious and simple baked eggplant with San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil. The quality of ingredients were very high and the tastes very fresh. Parking is a huge challenge in this neighborhood but otherwise we will def be back to this little gem."

"I was pleased with our dinner at Uva Enoteca. I chose it b/c they took reservations for large groups and I had a group of 8. Overall it was a fun place with good food."

"Starters are exceptional at Uva - and the boar ravioli never disappoints. The italian wines are always a delight, too. A great italian eatery with a more updated menu..."

"Overall this place is great, but unfortunately our experience was marred by the fact that the server not only misinformed us about the gluten content of what we ordered, but was a bit dismissive/condescending when we were asking about the ingredients. The discomfort my wife was going through later ruined what was an otherwise great evening."

"Good selection of meats and cheeses. We loved the raw kale salad - nice tangy dressing that didn't detract from the fresh, young leaves. The meatballs (beef and pork) had excellent texture and were very tasty but a little too salty for our taste. We will be back to try more dishes."

"This was my second time here and it was awesome. The place is dim and has a cool vibe. The food is just delicious...from the cured meats, cheese, salads, and pastas. It was fun and I enjoyed it."

"What a great find. Just when you thought you've tried them all, you find this place tucked away in Lower Haight. Fantastic tapa food, extensive wine list, great service, and fun-filled ambiance in a great neighborhood. The dinning room is bigger than what it looks outside, and it has a great bar as well. Worth checking out."

"Boy, Uva sure has gone downhill. Bad bread in San Francisco should be a crime for which offenders should receive tortuous treatment. Service st Uva is slow and or server was disinterested. Have lived in the neighborhood for many years and was a big supporter of Uva when it opened, but gradually stopped going after the service and quality of ingredients became substandard. Gave it another try and found that the Uva Enoteca of today is a very sad reminder of what it once was. It was not always great, but was always very good."

"As a winemaker I thought that UVA's wine list was very approachable for people just learning about wine, who are willing to throw darts and taste through different wines per the recommendation of the servers. It's a great place to get a good and frequent palate test of Italian wines from around the country that are representative of their traditional and historic context.
Also, wonderful small plates! The whole (date) night was a great experience that I WANT to repeat."

"Love the feel of this place - kind of like a hidden spot in a rustic italian villlage or something. and the cheese is amazing - that fig jam and honey combo is something else!
The pasta or pizza portions aren't very big, so I definitely recommend getting an appetizer aka the cheese!"

"Took 45 mins to be served our brunch food and the restaurant was only half-full! $15 pasta was very overpriced. The tomato sauce was very tasty but that was all - sauce and cooked noodles. The best dish was the scrambled eggs with biscuits and mascarpone - delicious! The oven baked pizza was tasty but served 5 mins after our dishes were served leaving one diner to wait while we ate our food hot - not well-timed from the kitchen!"

"I went there for Valentine's Day and had an awful experience. There was a loud family in the small restaurant with loud kids. The music choice was horrible: too loud and raucous, which killed the ambiance. Also, the host/waiter has the phone ringer on maximum volume so every time it rang it was super loud and it would ring a bunch of times because it would take them a minute to pick up since he was busy. The food was fine, the dessert was really good but overall, I wouldn't trust Uva Enoteca to create a good dining experience."

"Everything was great. We had a salame, a couple of cheeses, a pasta, and a secondi. The charcuterie and cheese were great and the server was able to give us more information to make informed choices. The pasta was nice and the roasted pork tenderloin stellar. Staff were uniformly kind and helpful.
We brought our toddler, who granted, is pretty good at eating out for a two year old. BUT, without a helpful staff, it wouldn't have worked out very well. The noise level is a little high, which works for you too."
