"Really enjoyed this experience. The waiter was perfect! He knew everything that we'd enjoy on a protein diet. I had the popcorn though. The cool drink with the carved ice was an added amenity!"

"The food at Mistral is great, the service is just right, but the atmosphere and noise are unacceptable. The much lauded architectural details - high ceilings, concrete floors, stark interior - has been so overdone lately that it is becoming a cliche and is just too precious. The overall impact is that it makes the place cold, uninviting, and LOUD. The place was so loud from the loud heavy metal sound track to the annoying soliloquy of the dinner three tables away from us that it completely ruined the atmosphere for us. So, despite the great menu, delicious food, and attentive server, we won't be back - unless there is a warm evening and we can sit outside."

"We had a great meal off the Happy Hour drink and food assortment. All very tasty for a very reasonable price. The service was pretty good. The waiter we had was a bit on the strange side but it was all good. We had a great time. We will definitely come again for after work HH events. Need to try dinner next time!"

"Fresh, seasonal food. Very creative and complex flavor profiles indicates some serious talent. From picture perfect crudos to Foie Gras, hard to go wrong here."

"I enjoyed my meal at Mistral Kitchen. Service was a little slow but overall pretty good. The combination of flavors in the dishes that I ordered were well thought out and interesting. I liked everything that I ate and would go back."

"Food was delicious, my date had short ribs while I had the painted hills ribeye. My only complaint as far as the food goes was that for 35 a plate I would expect to leave full. We also had a rhubarb dish for desert that was probably the best part of the meal. Service was great, water was always full and the waiter was there before we needed every time. In addition the chef stopped by the table multiple times to check on us which was very welcoming. Definitely would recommend to a friend"

"Always great to dine here as long as you do not mind the energetic chatter. Not a place for the hard of hearing. Otherwise it never disappoints an adventurous eater."

"The pate was a bit dry and too lean with variety of pickles that served saltiness and acid. I'd like to taste more fat in the pate.
I had the chocolate cake dessert. I could taste the real banana in the ice cream. The cake wasn't heavy, but plain boring sponge with nothing else. The plate overall tasted like an amature homemade dessert. I'm sure it's healthy but it wasn't a restaurant dessert. There're so many restaurants that can't execute the last finish - namely dessert. If you don't have a pastry chef, I'd recommend to either hire one or train cooks to learn the restaurant quality dessert. It makes a huge difference for diners' impression of the experience at your restaurant."

"I only went for restaurant week. The food was fine, but it wasn't very memorable. Honestly, I found my food to be more on the saltier side. Other than that, it was fine."

"VEry cool place. Food for the most part was great, with a wonderful selection. Chef whipped up a special dessert fro my lactose-intolerant friend. Waitress Elizabeth was refreshingly knowledgable and warm - 5+ stars for her."

"We went for brunch for restaurant week. While the food was very good and the scene is fun, the service was lacking. Menus for the day were still not printed when we arrived at 11am opening. It took over 2 hours to eat brunch although there was ample staff and few diners. Staff was slow and seemed uninterested. Entrees for the table were served at different times, nearly 20 minutes apart, and unnecessarily so because the early plates served were cold pate."

"We had lunch during the "dine around Seattle" event which makes it an inaccurate representation. Restaurants are so crazy busy and making the same 3 courses over and over, but... It was really good. The pâté Campagne was nicely presented with its cucumber, rhubarb and fennel pickles and pile of baby arugula. Plus the two mustards on the plate were really yummy. They bring a wonderful walnut bread to the table which was great with different combinations of the plate piled on top. We had the short rib and farro plus the scallop with the beans and chimchurri. I thought both were delicious. The first having a sort of Asian lean and the second an Italian lean. The deserts on the other hand did not turn me on too much."

"Spectacular fine dining experience. They had Japanese Wagyu beef direct from Japan, including the certificate of authenticity. An unusual splurge. We always have great meal, the staff is impeccable and William a gracious host. Probably the best meal in Seattle."

"This is possibly the most serious food establishment in the Northwest. Owner/Chef William has forgotten more about haute cuisine than most of us will ever know. Ask him about his chicken and he can talk for five minutes with nothing but serious facts and historical information. Wine list is one of the top in the Northwest. The staff know their stuff, too!"

"Took my husband there for his birthday. We were really looking forward to it since we had been there for drinks and appetizers previously. Food was over-priced and my fish was very fishy. Considering the price point it was really disappointing and we would not recommend this restaurant or visit there again."

"While the food was very good, I was disappointed that we were seated in the bar area. When I made reservations, I was not told that we would be seated in the bar area rather than in the restaurant. The restaurant looked very nice and appeared to be quieter. Our tables were uncovered while the restaurant area had white tablecloths. We should have been told in advance that we were reserving for the bar area rather than the restaurant.
Other than the ambiance and noise level, the service and food were both very good."

"Truly amazing food. From the freshest briny oysters, to the perfectly seared foie gras and the most tender plump chicken I've ever encountered...this place is a Seattle gem. Can't say enough good things about Mistral Kitchen. Really appreciated the attentive care of our server, Garrett. And lovely to see a chef that checks on his patrons personally, too."

"Everything was tasty and we had great service. The food was very good, but not remarkable. Our servers were attentive and well-informed. You could do much worse, but there are better values with more creative offerings at this price point in Seattle.
My biggest complaint is the prices, especially alcohol. I'm used to paying double the regular price, but 3-4 times normal is really nuts. Portion sizes for food were quite small even if you're not that hungry."

"Usually a reliable yet innovative dining experience, the last trip to Mistral Kitchen lacked in both service and in food preparation. I rarely eat chicken in a restaurant, but decided to try it. The entree was textured as if it had been prepared sous vide, and without an interesting surface preparation. Not a dish I will try again. I sent half of it back to the kitchen. The charcuterie was huge, but not absolute top notch. Still a pleasant enough meal, but I will ask next time is William is in the kitchen before I go. All in all, Mistral Kitchen is still one of the best places to eat in Seattle. And William's imagination in the kitchen is hard to top."

"I LOVE Mistral Kitchen, normally, but when I took 4 friends there for lunch who had never been there, I was sad. The food was underseasoned, the restaurant was not very busy yet the service was not the normal great service. I think they must have had an off day. If this had been my first time, I would not go back, but since I know their food is normally excellent, I will give it another try. Everyone has an off day, right?"

"Mistral has a casual side and a fine dining side. We ate on the casual side so tasting menus were not an option.
The food was wonderful. The seared foie gras was just heavenly. My lamb was as good as piece of lamb as I've ever had, and I've had a lot. It was a good piece of meat to start with but was cooked perfectly. My wife's ribeye was also very good. Desert was a rich chocolate tart which lived up to the rest of the meal.
There was a lot of attention to detail in the little things too, like perfectly toasted hazelnuts with the fois gras.
It's not cheap but the food prices are very reasonable for the quality. The wine prices, um, not so much, but there is something for any bud"

"I wanted to make sure we enjoyed a nice meal during our brief visit to Seattle. Am very glad to have gone to Mistral Kitchen, which I chose after reading reviews online. I thoroughly enjoyed the duck breast. The others at my table also enjoyed their meals -- rib eye steak, foie gras, clams. The charcuterie plate was especially wonderful! The waitperson was also extremely helpful."
