"The food was amazing! A little salty, but when my steak was a little under cooked they were more than happy to cook it longer and very concerned that I was pleased. Our server was wonderful, very friendly, and knowledgeable. Barclay is certainly the place to go for an amazing steak!"

"We love this place so much. It is our go to spot for a special occasion dining. This is a really special steakhouse. It has all the classics, and does them very well, but it does not have the corporate feel of other steakhouses. The service is outstanding."

"We dined at Barclay Prime for a special occasion and the entire experience was amazing. The staff was very helpful; our server was enthusiastic about the menu and was able to answer questions we had. We tried a couple of the new items on the menu and the manager even came by to ask us for feedback. We were very impressed at the timing of each course as we never felt rushed. Each dish was cooked to perfection; I could rave about each one, but the most special two were the octopus ceviche and the asparagus. If you haven't been to Barclay Prime, it is well worth a trip."

"Dining here is a major investment. Everything was very good, but nothing was outstanding. Overall is was very expensive. The same meal at Butcher and Singer (the same owner) would be about $100 less for two. So if you have money to burn this is great. If you want a similar experience, at one of the City's best restaurants, go to Butcher!"

"We enjoyed a memorable birthday dinner with our son. The staff was attentive and prompt. our server was helpful with menu selections and had a great personality. "Being fans of Stephen Starr restaurants, this had been on our list for some time, but needed a good excuse to pay for the quality food that is served. Valentine's day offered us that opportunity, and we were very happy we went. The steak was amazing, and the service was top notch. "Food was excellent. Unfortunately we had to wait longer than our reservation time due to the fact that the chef was sitting at our table. Also, it took a long while for the waiter to get to us and go over both the dinner and the dessert menus. We felt like he had more important things to attend to. The total experience took 2 1/2 hours. Food was awesome, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have any other plans for the evening."

"It is a beautiful restaurant, lively, good service. I was a little disappointed in the fish, striped bass,. Filets were good. The one major turnoff of the night was parking. Because of the massive snow on the roads, your only choice was valet. It was 1/2 block away in between the other Steven Starr restuarant and BP and cost us with tip 45.00. That is absolutely insane!! not after spending over 400 for the 3 of us for dinner Should have taken a cab."

"Wonderful dining experience! Beautiful...not what you would expect for a steakhouse. Typical Starr restaurant...cool/trendy yet classic. Food was delicious but overpriced. A fun part of the meal was when the server came over with a tray of knives...explained the differences and then we chose which one we wanted to use for our steak entrees. Our server was phenomenal! He knew his food! Described in detail various items on the menu and gave recommendations. We loved how friendly and easy-going everyone was...not pretentious or snobby. Only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was b/c of the prices."

"Had a wonderful dinner wife my wife Saturday night at Barclay Prime. The bacon wrapped scallops were prepared perfectly and melted in your mouth. "A true gem - easily the best meal we've ever had in Philadelphia. Elevating the experience from outstanding to magnificent were the cocktails, and superlative bar service from Beverage Manager Barry K. Johnson. If you are passionate about great gin, vintage cocktails, re-released spirits, unique infusions, and pairings every bit as good as those from the kitchen, you owe it to yourself make a dinner date - with drinks! It's a pricy experience, but well worth it - our four-course, four-hour meal on a busy Saturday night was unhurried, with courses paced perfectly. The staff really know about the food and drinks - all those to whom we spoke had detailed, personal knowledge about the subtleties of the menu and were glad to enlighten us."

"I have been a long-time fan and the steaks still reign supreme, but it is getting to a price point ($54) that people will be celebrating anniversaries and birthdays here (ala La Bec Fin) rather than just going out for a steak dinner. Capital Grille is in same league at a lower price point and with more of a traditional steakhouse feel, which I prefer. Our vegetables came out cold and the potato nachos are a joke at $10. Lastly, I think the individual knives is a gimmick that has become passe. Move on Steven Starr (and get real about the prices) or I will!!"

"The meal was very good, the service superb. However the choice of steaks was not good. When I want to order a steak I don't want 8 or 12 ounces. I want 4-6 ounces. I didn't have that choice. In addition, despite the wonderful meal, our total bill including the tip was almost $300 for 3 adults. That is really outrageous. I doubt we will eat there again."

"Great food, drinks, wine. A good friend of mine and I ate the East & West Coast Oysters and Tuna Tartare for appetizers, the NY Strip Steak, Mashed Potatoes w/Truffles and Broccolini & Aioli sauce for dinner, and desserts. Everything was very good, and the table service was excellent. We dined for 2.5 hours and never felt rushed. Our starter drinks were quite good (Reisling and a Manhattan). We ordered two wines by the glass, and the Cabernet was perceived to be better than the Bordeaux. I would certainly come back."

"The food and service were very good and the setting is elegant. Based on other reviews (both professional and amateur), I was expecting a "life-changing" steak experience. What I got was a very good, delicious steak, but not the best steak I had ever eaten. I ordered the bone-in filet, medium rare, and while it came pink throughout as promised, it was actually a little dry. My wife loved her dover sole (the brown butter sauce was excellent) but the sides were "meh". We both loved the desserts and the La Colombe coffee, and we had an excellent Cabernet Sauvingnon (albeit at a 250% mark-up).

I would certainly go back, but I would probably try some of the other newcomers first."

"The food and service was outstanding. Our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and delivered right on time. Our server was great, attending to every one of our peculiar requests. We dined for hours and never felt rushed. In fact we added another guest for desert and our server fell right into our flow. Our comfortable settings added to our enjoyment since we stayed so long for our extended meal."

"Service was amazing, food was delicious, and ambiance was very comfortable and romantic. We had the Kobe sliders for an appetizer which i would recommend. For dinner we had a filet and NY strip and both were cooked perfect and had a lot of flavor. Wine selection was large and had a lot of variety."

"Great Vibe with Very Good Food. Service is right on.
Food is Meat centric and had a few specials that were good.
Stone Crabs were a day too old and even a succulent Kobe Ribeye
had been over-seasoned but it is a Starr Place and food is a secondary element. Sides are oversalted as well. We were dissapointed with dessert seemed prefab.
Caviar and Champagne great but hand made blinis better.."

"The food was outstanding. To our pleasant surprise, the portions weren't overly large, and everything was prepared to perfection. The Sommelier was charming and knowedgable, as well. On the minus side, the noise level was exceptionally high. We couldn't hear the peope sitting across from us at our own table, which of course limited our ability to converse."
