"As out-of-towners, we we lucky to find Shorty's.32 and we had a fabulous dinner there in November. Our return visit this weekend for brunch was just as enjoyable. Shorty himself was there to greet us and the food was excellent. We invited our son, a young New Yorker, to join us, and I was pleased that we were introducing him to such a great restaurant find."

"Ammaazzing! I've often heard if you want to check out the skill of a chef,try the chicken. Here, there was no doubt that at Shorty's they know what they are doing! Our family of 4 foodies, who have eaten in SF, Chicago, Paris and many others, have on our first trip to NYC found a 'gold mine' I only wish my stomach was larger, and the trip wasn't so far!(we're from western Canada) But we hope to make a trip back sooner than later, and try those ribs! The Tuna appetizer was wonderful. The Crabcakes were flavorful and crispy. Our server was pleasant and funny! All ofour entrees were special and the bananas foster had a unique twist, and creamy. Shorty's dinner got our Christmas in NYC off to a great start. Thanks and all the best in '10"

"Four of us wined and dined. Everything was very good; food, wines, service. Friendly welcome, friendly waitstaff, etc. For wine, try both the red (forgot the name -- unusual) and the Gewurztraminer from the same producer in the Alto Adiage. Both very tasty (the red was available by the glass as well). Appetizers we ate included the pork belly (fantastic, but not health food), the squash salad, and the tuna tartar. Entrees were the pork Milanese, the rack of lamb, salmon, and the scallops. Anyway -- go to this place, you will not be disappointed. (Good value for money as well.)"
