"The green pepper dip and fresh bread, the eggplant appetizer and the baklava were fabulous - total stand outs. I had the chicken kebab with barberry rice - it was good but not great. My dining partner enjoyed the lasagna - cleaned the plate and loved it - it looked rich. She raved about it."

"Arya is fast becoming one of our "go to" places to have great food. They have a varied menu sure to please anyone with meal portions generous without being mammoth. . Arya has entertainment as varied as the menu - for Mother's Day it was a smooth jazz duo, but I've also seen traditional dancers and other bands. The music is not overpowering to conversations. Arya can accommodate all ages of family as well as romantic evenings. The host/hostess are charming and will go out of their way to accommodate your seating wishes. Servers are friendly, fast and attentive. They have a larger seating area with a bar and another room off the front with plenty of windows and light that is smaller. Off street parking is available - spacious."

"Savor yummy food while being treated like a queen or king. Portions are enough to share or bring home. Staff is wonderfully warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this neighborhood gem."

"We have been to Arya as a couple and with friends 4 times. Each and every time the service was excellent and the food very well prepared. We only recently stayed for the belly dancing when we dined later and were there with friends. If going before the belly dancing the atmosphere is moderately noise, but once the dancing starts the main dining room gets very energetic. However, if the desire is a quieter experience then the separate patio room is very nice. We love the chocolate martini the bartender makes, actually enjoyed several drinks she has made for us. The variety of rice choices to go with the kabobs is very nice. My favorite is the lentil, date and raisin, not something I would have thought I'd like, excellent."

"Very nice staff. Good Persian food that is not available elsewhere, such as chicken with a pomegranete and walnut sauce. Also has an extensive Itialian menu which I have not tried but which is good for our two young boys. Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8:30pm they have live Middle-eastern style entertainment (a band and dancers)."

"Very nice Persian food. We did not try their Italian and other dishes. Rice was a bit too salty. Our waitress was wonderful. The jazz group (Friday night) was excellent. The belly dancer was also very good."

"We went for an early dinner (6 pm) and the restaurant was very quiet. The food and our cocktails were great. We really enjoyed the hummus appetizer. It had a nice lemon flavor we all liked. Our server was excellent. She made some recommendations for several dishes that turned out very well. She also told us that we were missing the entertainment, which starts later in the evening. We'll have to go back at a later reservation. It sounds as if it's very lively after 7:30."

"It is two restaurants in one, Persian and Italian, and surprisingly, both cuisines were cooked with utmost competence. It may not measure up to comparable Persian restaurants in Los Angeles (where the best Persian food outside of Iran is to be had) or Italian restaurants of comparable price in NY, but compared to what is available within a 50 mile radius, this is a place that will not disappoint.
Highly recommended."

"First time, very much enjoyed our dinners. The waiter made a mistake with my order and I got the wrong rice dish, but I decided I didn't care and it was excellent. I'm inclined to blame the mistake, minor as it was, on the noise level as it was Persian New Years and they were quite busy."

"Food was average -- nothing stood out, which would have been fine at correspondingly average prices. They were ONLY offering a prix-fix menu at $70/pp. At half the price it would have been a marginal value. This just isn't a restaurant in that price class. Very basic salad. A dessert I could have bought at Trader Joe's in the frozen food section (they probably did). And the live entertainment was comically bad -- you clapped for the singer out of sympathy. He was trying really hard... but you just wish he would stop and let everyone eat in peace."

"Arya is good place and I like it a lot. My biggest disappointment was that I called Arya to make sure that we have the regular menu available on the 14th, and the person assured me that we can order whatever we can from the regular menu. She said it's NOT just limited to the FIXED MENU, but the regular menu will be available as well, which turned out to be false. It's not about the price but more about ordering what we like most (Soups like Ash Reshte etc), which was not even there on the day."

"The food was great & the service was excellent. The only unfortunate part of the experience was the noise level/enviornment. There were families around us with extremely loud children; while this was not the restaurant's fault, when the family with the screaming children arrived, it would have been appreciated had they been seated away from the quiet tables. Instead, they were seated at the table directly next to ours, and our ability to have a conversation was immediately over. For some reason, they decided to seat all diners near each other. That impacted our overall experience."

"Our waitress Danielle was very competent, friendly, energetic, attentionate, on top of things. Iranian specialities were tasty. Saturday night, as soon as they started the singer+band, the volume was physically painful. Completely impossible to say anything to the person sitting next at the table. We asked and they would not lower the volume. We had to leave as soon as possible."

"we went for dinner mid-week, the place was quite deserted so it was not as noisy as other people said. service was very good and friendly. beers list was not impressive, and we did not check the wine list, just stuck with water - which was refilled very often with a smile. the food was very good, and variety was large so we all got good selections. in appetizers the eggplant salad and grape leaves were very good. for entrees, I recommend the traditional Persian specials - the rice on these was excellent! the skewers were great, also.
not very cheap but well worth it."

"Arya is always a welcoming and interesting place for a quiet weeknight dinner, or an energetic weekend dinner. The hands-on ownership, management and servers are so pleasant and accommodating, and they seem genuinely caring about how you are enjoying your meal.
They are also very flexible with the menu. You can substitute the different rice dishes with the meat dishes. Don't miss the basmati rice with tart black cherries. Very tasty.
Persian food is front and center, with some Italian specialties. Seems odd, but the chef also has a background in Italian cooking. I have had the kabobs and the Persian stews. Always good.
The cocktails are always good, too. Music on Friday and Saturday, with belly dancers. Fun"

"Interesting restaurant with an eclectic menu. Don't often find a Persian/Italian menu, but Arya pulls it off. Appetizers are superb; this time we had an eggplant, yogurt and ??? dish that was really, REALLY good! The filet mignon kebab was good but not spectacular. My wife wanted a salad with chicken that wasn't on the menu, and the server immediately suggested how to order what she was looking for. Turned out to be exactly what she wanted. We'll be back."
