Located on East Passyunk Avenue near Tasker Street, the oldest Italian-American business district in the country, Paradiso is an exciting new addition to "South Philly's Restaurant Row". The spacious property has been renovated into a casually-elegant restaurant that features a open-air kitchen with a fresh approach to regional Italian & Mediterranean cooking. The private dining room provides the perfect setting for any occasion with seating capacity for parties up to 100 guests.
"Went for Mother's Day early dinner. Food was fantastic - Italian with a flare and dishes that were more continental. Very attentive service and just a wonderful dining experience."

"Our dinner was amazing! Loved the risotto with lobster and fava beans. Creative seasonal menu and affordable well chosen wine list. We can't wait to return."

"Lovely restaurant with subtle colors. Get there early because the noise level goes up steadily and it becomes harder to hear across the table. The food is very good. Appetizers are a bit pricey. The $12 escargot in a tomato sauce was excellent-the best part of the dinner. Entrees are mid to upper $20s. Corkage fee is $12, but Sunday is BYOB night. Neighborhood parking meters are until 10 p.m."

"Slow service but with a pleasant attitude. Main course took 1 1/2 hrs to come out and their was only one other table of two people in the restaurant besides our table of 6. Can't imagine the wait on a sat night is it was this slow on a wed when empty. Food taste was good and cheese course was great with many choices. Kitchen needs to pick up the pace a bit , won't be back."

"We were able to secure a large table on a busy Saturday & they even accommodated an add-on of one chair so we appreciate their flexibility. One of the few EPA rest's that had open res before 9 PM. The food & service was okay not great. While our server was personable enough, we felt like she neglected our large group but we observed her being much more engaged with other tables. Your water glass is kept full. Our entrees did not arrive evenly &we think they sat for some time in the window because some arrived less than warm. We had a clear view into the kitchen &it appeared as though there was some issues among the cook staff. Only two ventured for dessert, which they shared. No refill of our coffees was offered though; a pet peeve of mine."

"An excellent neighborhood restaurant but parking can be an issue. Food was excellent with a small but diverse lunch menu. The scallops with mushroom risotto exceeded my expectations as did my partner;s salmon with cannelloni. The server was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly."

"Everyone we encountered at Paradiso was warm, responsive and professional from the bartender to hostess to our waiter! The well-lit modern dining room is well appointed and still casual and very comfortable. The best of course was finding a menu with good range. I felt there was something for every mood. I chose a great entree - black seafood risotto with lobster. The spinach salad appetizer was the perfect starter. I would definitely look to see my new friends at Paradiso again!!"

"We normally love this restaurant but it was a little noisy, and we noticed that there are fewer items on the menu which we would consider given that we don't eat pork or shellfish."

"We love Paradiso. The food is excellent, the bar is perfect, and the service is great. We highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys an above average dining experience. They do an excellent job with private parties too. If you haven't been there you don't know what you are missing !!!!"

"The service was great. The food was quite good. I knew it was expensive going in, so that Didn't bother me. The one complaint was having to hear the conversation of the person next to me, she was a real Debbie downer."

"The staff at Paradiso could not have been more hospitable, so helpful and friendly. Our party arrived in a a staggered fashion, but they allowed our larger party to be seated and order some a la carte items from our server, Anthony, before the entire party had arrived. We enjoyed our escargot and salumi items, while the cheese plate was not quite as well liked. I believe everyone enjoyed their appetizer and entrees. Personally, I had the chicken liver mousse appetizer and the duck entree, both very good. The duck was served on polenta, and seared with a nice crisp, while still being medium rare toward the center. I managed to steal a few bites of some of the other entrees, and most were just as good. A classic place on East Passyunk."

"Great experience on busy Valentine's Day. Service was excellent and food was very well prepared and delicious. The menu is more adventuresome than most So Philly trattorias, and that is a nice difference. Very accessible wine list, nice choices. Definitely will return!"

"We went there for the first time this past Sunday for East Passyunk's restauant week and the food and service were great! However, we didn't realize until we got the check that Sunday's are BYOB at Paradiso. This is something that should be advertised or mentioned when you make a reservation. Otherwise, I would suggest it to others!"

"If you are looking for a fantastic meal and tired of the "old-fashioned" saucey, gravey laiden Italian food of the 80's this is the place. Lynn Rinaldi cooks up a fabulous meal that will delight all of her diners who enter. It is the best Nouveau Italian restaurant in Philly."

"We've known the Rinaldi family for years, so admittedly first went to Paradiso to show our support. The menu is always intriguing, the food is always delish, and the service is attentive but not intrusive. On this visit, we particularly enjoyed the burrata with candied beets and blood orange salad. I had the branzino which was prepared simply and perfectly. My husband swooned over the pappardelle with lobster. My parents had the roast chicken, which was moist. We ordered all the desserts on the menu, which were fabulous. Our favorite was the cinnamon bombolini."

"I am a young professional and just out of college so I will begin by saying that my finer dining experiences are few and far between. I came to Paradiso with my girlfriend for Valentines Day '13 and we both loved it. The food was excellent and the whole dining experience was memorable. Highly recommend."

"One of the top 2-3 Italian restaurantes in the city and for the price one of the best in the country. The menu changes seasonally and the food is always excellent. The atomosphere is elegant but comfortable and the wine list provdes very good wines and very reasonable prices. If entertaining someone from outside Philadelphia and you want to introduce them to Philadelphia Italian cuisine, this is the place to take them."

"This was our second time at Paradiso. Previously, we were there on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. Despite the crowd and the noise, the drinks, food, and service were very good. This time we had an early dinner on a Wednesday night because we were taking my wife's Aunt Dolly out for a birthday dinner. Pleasant size crowd and a much tamer atmosphere. Nevertheless, the drinks, food, and service remained excellent. Great menu with evening specials that are outstandingly good."
