Alioto's Italian Seafood Restaurant is located in the heart of San Francisco's famed Fisherman's Wharf overlooking the historic fishing fleet and the Golden Gate Bridge. The Alioto family has been serving local seafood at the same location for the past 85 years. "My wife and I went for our anniversary. When I booked iot through Open Table I requested a table with a view of the marina and Golden Gate Bridge. They made sure we got it! Our reservations were for 8. We were sat by 8:05, just a few minute wait for the table. Once at the table it took a few minutes for the server to greet us, but that is fine at we were looking at the menu. The food was great. We had Fried calamari, crab , and the sea food combo. Alliotto's a testimant to the food that San Francisco is known for!"

"We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our server was outstanding and I truly wish I had gotten his name. He made us laugh, made sure we would be happy with our orders, went above and beyond once the restaurant was out of what I truly wanted (Sand Dabs).
We were even an hour late for our reservation and I called the restaurant to tell them we were stuck in traffic. They still fit us in within 10 minutes of arriving.
And the food was simply amazing. The bread was perfect. The ceasar salad was tangy. And the Petrale Sole was a sufficient stand-in for Sand Dabs (however nothing beats the real thing)."

"Part of the reason I choose Alioto's was because we were going with several people & I needed a menu that gave enough options for the entire group. The service was great & our server was amazing. The calamari appetizer was good, nothing spectacular but it was yummy. For dinner 2 people got pasta dishes & 2 people got grilled options. I would say the pasta portions were big while the grilled seafood options were wimpy at best. While the food was yummy I would have liked to have seen more than 6 pieces of seafood on my plate for the price I paid. For dessert we had the Tiramisu, it was one of the better desserts I've had. Alioto's location makes it easy for people to locate it, while the view of the harbor & boats adds to the overall ambience"

"Whenever we are in The City we have lunch at Alioto's. The food is consistently good and we love the atmosphere. The seafood sausage is fantastic! They had a very reasonable lunch menu but we skipped it for family favorites including the Salmon Kalbi and the cioppino. We have never had a bad experience here. The reduced star for service was due to the water forgetting to bring a soup which we pointed out when we got the entree. They more than made up for the error."

"We go to Fisherman's Wharf several times a year; but, this is the first time we've eaten at Alioto's. We had the perfect table next to the window overlooking the fishing fleet with the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. We couldn't ask for a better view. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, the service was quick and the food was fabulous. My wife had the crab cioppino and it was loaded with crab. It also had mussels, clams and shrimp with a spicy tomato sauce that was delicious. I had the seafood combo sautee which included crab, scallops and shrimp in a white wine and mushroom sauce with rice and a vegetable. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning to Alioto's."

"Back in the early 60's when my Dad was in the US Navy he first visited Alioto's - ever since whenever someone he knew was headed to San Francisco he would always say "You have to go to Alioto's" well I finally made here and let me tell you it was great!
Food was awesome - clam chowder was spicy and excellent - scallops were brilliant in flavor and presentation. Wine list was good - sour dough was great to.
This is a must go!!"

"Because Alioto's is situated at Fisherman's Wharf, it's often dismissed as a "tourist trap" by us locals. However, we should not leave this place to the tourists! The service is wonderful old fashioned San Francisco Italian, the seafood is fresh and tasty, and the view just cannot be beat. We started returning here a few years ago, just by ourselves, and have been recommending it to neighbors and friends ever since. Please give it a go, you will not be sorry!"

"Friends came into town, so I thought I would take them for a great meal with a great view of San Francisco. Was greeted upstairs by someone with zero personality. Server was very friendly but not very attentive. Food was bland. Nonna Rosa's chopino was the best dish we had, and it still lacked flavor, and the seafood was overcooked.. Sicilian Chopino was supposed to be in a saffron base. It was tasteless, and the seafood was overcooked. Cold seafood salad was totally flavorless and seemed like it had been around a few days. Presentation wasn't there either. No " wow" factor on any of the food the five of us had. Very overpriced, very dissapointed. Great view of S.F. Bay. Next time I dine at the wharf, it won't be at Aliotto's."

"Alioto's is not only a San Francisco landmark, but a family favorite going back to my grandparents. Great service, friendly. The view is unmistakable "wharf " with a view of the Golden Gate. Had a hard time following the conversation with members of my family because I kept on gazing at the view."

"The seafood was fresh and delicious. We had a great booth for four - and view over Fisherman's Wharf. We were kept waiting at the small bar for 15 minutes after our reservation time and had to chase for the table. The wine list wasn't extensive but surprisingly good value. The bill seemed a bit pricey given the touristy feel to the place with 18% gratuity and a 10% service charge added automatically. That said, I would recommend it with those caveats."

"We had a 7PM reservation on a busy Friday night and yet, we were seated at a window table with an outstanding view! One member of our party of 3 was delayed and they even held our table. I definitely would return to try more dishes - the lobster bisque was delightful and went well with the wine we selected (La Crema Pinot) . Service was very well-timed and friendly."

"Alioto's serves OK food. Although, it's probably not as flavorful as something you could make at home. If dining with a group, each person must order at least $18 worth of food/drinks... if not, each person will be charged that anyway. So come hungry for their less-than-spectacular fare. Alioto's servers wear tuxedos aiming for an upscale dining experience. Food, service, attitudes and overall quality suggest otherwise. Skip this restaurant."

"I frequently use Opentable for this situation: hungry, in a busy unfamiliar place, and want to find a place with good reviews that will seat us without a wait. I reserved our seat at Alioto's from the boat returning from Alcatraz. There were several pkaces that could seat us in thirty minutes, but Alioto's had great reviews a a picture of its big window. We arrived walking straight from the boat and were brought straight to our window table-more magical than I could have anticipated, the view was over the charming fishing boats of the wharf across to the Golden Gate Bridge. The food and service matched the view. I also appreciate decor that's a little more elegant rather than "themed.""

"I hadn't been to Alioto's in years and was skeptical by some of the reviews I read saying it was high priced. Well I don't know what these people were talking about because the prices were average and the food was very good. 4 in our party and everyone loved their entree. In my opinion Alioto's is still very dependable - good food, good service and a great view upstairs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is bringing people from out of town and they want to provide them with a great "Fisherman's Wharf experience"."

"We had a perfect view from our requested window table of the bay, bridge, and sunset. Olivier was our waiter and a perfect host with notable recommendations. The Sisilian style calamari was some of the best we have had as well as the trademark cioppiano and bouillabaisse.
