"Went for Mother's day brunch. The poached eggs were great, the gnocchi was OK. Limited menu, they didn't even have a side of pasta for my 2 year old. They had full meals but no bread. Service was slow... no coffee refills and we wanted desert but it was taking too long for the waitress to return for our order. Would not go back for brunch."

"I think we just hit them at a bad time but our waitress could not have cared less. One person in our party did not even touch their food and she never came back never asked why. Too late to order them an alternative and on Mother's Day it was a bummer.
If they were not so expensive it would not have mattered but if your going to charge that much you need to do a better job.
All our food came at the same time so those of us who got salads had them with a hot entree which was no longer hot after the salad.
We have been here many times and enjoyed it but this total lack of concern and just lousy service topped with mediocre food makes us think we won't go back."

"We had a last minute, last night dinner here. Food quality is quite high. The salad with the tile fish was superb, lightly dressed and overal a lovely later dinner. Calamari was delicious though the portion was modest. Good mixed drink. I was a bit concerned with some less than stellar reviews, but if we would not hesitate to return."

"The service at Tomasso was excellent. Our waitress was very knowlegeable. We were seated right away and everyone was very efficient and extremely nice. We chose the Antipasta dish for our appetizer and that unfortunatley was very salty and disspointing. Otherwise all three of the pasta dishes and the chicken were excellent."

"The menu, although limited, had enough variety to satisfy, and the food was very good. The wine list was extensive, almost to the point of being confusing to make a selection. For wine fanatics, it would be a great choice. The Red Pepper soup was outstanding. It was, however, so loud that it was necessary to just about shout to the person across a narrow table to be heard. It was a Saturday evening, nonetheless, the noise was overwhelming."

"We've always liked Tomasso's but don't seem to get there very often. Went recently to celebrate an anniversary. Were placed in the bar side as they said there were three large parties in the main room and it would be quieter in the bar. Must have been pretty uproarious in the main room as the bar was quite loud. This is the first time that nothing on the menu jumped out at us. But we ended up with the redfish, which turned out to be quite good, and our old standby the tagliatelle with bolognese. The cured meat starter was delicious, as were the cheese course and the sorbet. They didn't have our first choice of wine, so we picked another. So there were some small disappointments. But overall, this is still a place we'll keep going back to."

"Roasted red pepper soup was just ok, needed more salt and pepper(there was none on the table) to enhance the flavor. It used chopped/ground nuts to thicken the soup and make the texture chunky. The cherry tomato salad with ramps was horrible. The tomatoes and olives were the only part of the salad that I could eat. They used the tops of the ramps for salad greens which were dry, thick, and chewy- in other words inedible. It was a very weird combination. I was expecting only to have the picked ramps be used in and amongst salad greens. Server was friendly, table was comfortable with nice linens. I would not go back again as the food just wasn't worth it."

"Good food and service, but the tables are chipped and worn and need to be replaced or covered with tablecloths. I'm surprised they haven't done this already, considering that the general atmosphere is nice and relatively upscale. "Our dinner was great but the clams in the spaghetti vongole were very gritty which made it less than pleasant to eat, where they should have been the highpoint of the dish. The tagliatelle bolognese was fabulous, so was the flourless chocolate torte.
The biggest problem we had was the noise level at the restaurant. It was very hard to talk and considering there were just two of us seated across from one another, that should NOT be the case. That makes it difficult to want to come back. It's not inexpensive to go out to dinner and then to be unable to hold a conversation -- why bother?"

"We started at the bar with some pre-dinner cocktails and the polenta fritte - very good! We sat in the dining room and opted for the 3 course option @$35 PP which is a great deal. The wine recommendation was spot on given our meals.The first course came out and it was very tasty - hand made polpette & arancini. Although the meatballs were hot and the arancini was not. Then we waited for about 35 minutes for our 2nd course and by the time it arrived we were already full. Again, the same situation the risotto was hot but the bolognese was not. Apparently the pasta station was running behind. So we picked at our 3rd course and had to run home to relieve the babysitter. All in all, it was a good experience but hoping the "flow" improves."

"We've been going to Tomasso's for about six years and it is gradually going down hill. While the service is usually very good, the food is not. They appear to have a new chef who seems more concerned with how your food looks rather than how it tastes. The Caesar salad I had was the worst Caesar I have ever had. It was incredibly bland but looked interesting as arranged on the plate. The chef was trying to take a page from the currently popular iceberg wedge approach. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for romaine lettuce. I ordered the hanger steak medium rare, as suggested by the waitress (who was excellent). Once I managed to cut through the thick crusted exterior, it was indeed medium rare.The desserts continue to be of poor quality"

"This was my third visit to Tomasso; first time for Brunch. We attended their Easter Brunch. The food was good; not spectacular, but good. We were disappointed with a few dishes: we ordered the large cold cut platter and the meats were cut unusually thin. It was impossible to lift the prosciutto or soppressata slices off the plate. My father ordered "prosciutto and melon" an we had a good chuckle at the portion size. It was literally three small melon slivers (not slices) wrapped with a puny prosciutto strips. I wondered perhaps if they had only one honeydew melon in the kitchen and were rationing it out. The service was very slow. Diners who came later were served before us."

"I have been to Tomasso Trattoria a few times now, and have had a wonderful experience each time. I had my engagement brunch of about 35 people, about a year ago. They were so accommodating and made sure everyone had a wonderful meal.
Most recently I visited the restaurant for dinner. The food was spectacular and so fresh. There is an expansive wine list and an ever changing menu.
This restaurant is great for large groups as well as a romantic date night. I would definitely recommend Tomasso Trattoria to anyone!"

"Excellent food, service was attentive however we were 1st flight of diners at 5:30 on a Saturday. Presentation was outstanding. Wine list carried few familiar names but our recommended choice was reasonable and terrific. On the flip side, the selection of entre's was a bit limited and all sides were al a carte, which made the tab a bit pricey, even tho we had no dessert. "We went for an Italian wine dinner and, as such, were seated in a separate room. It should be noted that the noise level in the main dining room, where we ate several times, is at such an energetic level that the raising of voices to be heard isn't uncommon. With that said we have always found the food well above average and very creatively prepared. One of dishes for the evening (Lamb) arrived at a very tepid temperature, but was otherwise very delicious. The service is always gracious and attentive. The wines we had were delightful and the wine list has many affordable choices to make this a very enjoyable spot for repeat visits. Remember the noise when thinking "romantic"."

"Menu offers nice variety, including vegetarian and sustainable seafood options, service is attentive and friendly but not rushed. Tables are a little close together, and without any soft surfaces to absorb sound it tends to be fairly noisy, but a great neighborhood spot for a lovely dining experience without having to drive to Boston."

"Dining room was closed for a group so they tried squeezing reservation customers into the bar area. It was very crowded and very noisy which took away from the experience. Will have to give a second thought to returning as a result. Poorly managed situation for customers."

"This, my first visit, was positive. The gnocchi were the lightest and best I ever had. The special Ahi and fennel was fabulous, great wine and panne cotta for dessert...superb. Don't bother with the overpriced mediocre Ceasar Salad, tho.
WHile it is a bit pricy for the burbs, it's a nice authentic Italian felling trattoria and the wait staff made it an even more enjoyable night out!"

"Tomasso prides itself on cuisine from Italy (this is not American Italian food) that is made with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. And so they should be proud. The freshness of the ingredients shows in how delicious every dish was. The kitchen is open, so you can see what's being made. The staff were accommodating, courteous and friendly. The wine list is predominantly filled with labels from Italy [good! It's an Italian restaurant!] The place is also family- and kid-friendly. Highly recommended."

"We have been many times previously and loved it - our latest experience was not close to the other experiences. 2 members of our party ordered a fish special and both found it inedible and returned it. Was as if the fish was old - surprising as normally specials are particularly fresh. Our waiter handled this flawlessly (have had him before and he is great) - took them away and the replacement orders were fine (as were the orders of the other 2 members of our party). He was apologetic - didn't charge us for them and "comped" 2 deserts.
The remainder of our meals/experience was terific, but am concerned that the quality may be slipping in what had been one of our favorite special occasioon spot"

"Always excellent! We were entertaining an out of town guest and, as always, simply delighted by the food and service. "Reservations made in advance for 8 people, group was seated in the bar area as opposed to the main dining area which was disappointing, felt separated from the dining room, didn't get a good feel for the atmosphere. In hindsight should have questioned that with the host, but didn't.
Wines list was good with many selections, enjoyed the wines we chose.
Group was overall disappointed with the menu selections, and our entree. The wait staff was unable to provide explanations for the menu offerings, which left many of us guessing.
Piatto Misto was not as expected, simple offering with little flavor. Half the group had the steak which is telling, others had ravioli and seafood stew which had little flavor as well. Not worth the hi"
