The Salt Creek Steakhouse
The Salt Creek Steakhouse is located in the heart of Breckenridge's' historic district. Since 1997 we have consistently set the benchmark for great Steaks, mouth watering BBQ (cooked slow and low) fresh fish, poultry and vegetarian dish's.
Our restaurant is one of the few quality establishments in town capable of catering in house to large groups and special events.
Our extensive, yet reasonably priced, wine list has garnered the Wine Spectator award of excellence every year since 1998.

"My guest was not able to finish her Elk, very thin and rubbery. Salt creek did take the meal off the bill, but would have preferred better selection. Also the buffalo was okay, but had a very heavy sauce, that completely covered taste of the meat?"

"Noted as a steak place, but we don't order that. The ribs were tasty. Good tuna, though it csme out more rare than ordered. Chicken skewers were good but served lukewarm. Nice ambiance & good service."

"The place is great and has a lot of potential but the the waitress and cook staff was way under staffed. It took way too long to take our order, receive our food and get our check. Had to remind our waitress several times. We had good company so it didn't bother us as it would most. Its a shame because if it was staffed correctly, I would have given it high marks across the board but b/c it made my opinions biased. The management should know there would be a big crowd in the middle of Spring Break and should staff up accordingly. I blame the manager. If not the manager, then owner for not allowing him/her to their job."

"I went with my husband and he got a steak that was actually pretty good. However, I got the wedge salad and loaded baked which I would not reccommend anyone get. Our waitress was nice and pleasent with the overall service being very good."

"My wife and I have eaten at the Salt Creek Steakhouse 4 times within the past year: twice for breakfast and twice for dinner. This, however, is our first review. The breakfast menu was surprisingly extensive. The food was excellent, the service was good, and the coffee was superb! (For me, an absolutely spectacular meal is spoiled by mediocre coffee and leaves me with a bad taste - both figuratively and literally!) Encouraged by our initial breakfast, we decided to return for dinner; we were not disappointed. In addition to the usual steakhouse offerings, Salt Creek offers elk, bison, pork, seafood and other "specials." The food has been consistently excellent and less expensive than other comparable Breckenridge restaurants."

"We dined at Salt Creek with friends, family and an eight year old. The meal was delicious and the service was very good for a busy night. I was impressed that there were ribs and barbecue on the children's menu besides the usual kid's fare. I had the seared tune which was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. We would dine here again and take family and friends."

"Our table wasn't ready for 20 minutes after our reservation time. We sat at the bar and had a drink while waiting, where both the bartender and waitstaff complained about patrons or made comments regarding their physical appearances. Our table was really nice although the atmosphere is very loud, so not the best environment if you are looking to have a romantic dinner. Wine was delicious and good temperature, salads were just mediocre (lettuce wasn't best quality) but otherwise good. Our steaks were delicious, perfectly cooked and the baked potatoes were substantial. We had a great dessert with a lousy cup of coffee and the service was mediocre as well. Our server was polite enough, just very busy and didn't come around that often."

"We booked this because we found it on open table with some good reviews. I wasn't exactly thrilled with everything. All the appetizers were good. We ordered one of everything for our party. The filets were all great but my pasta dish with scallops and shrimp was terrible the wine hasn't been cooked off in the sauce, the vegetables that were tossed through seemed to have been thrown in at the end. We got some sides but they were all too small to share ( like we were told) Another thing I thought was strange was service wise our table was set for entrees before our apps were finished then when we asked for our food to he wrapped up they brought us containers and plastic bags to do it ourselves which I think is tacky for a steakhouse"

"We had a great experience, the food was great. We tried the steaks, salmon, bbq and soup. All was excellent and generous in proportion. The drink were inventive and very tasty. We had some spiked hot chocolate- mine had cherry bourbon in it and it was super delightful on a cold night. Our waitress was fantastic. The Yelp reviews are mostly wrong, this place is great and a perfect spot after a day of skiing."

"I went to the Salt Creek steakhouse on a busy Saturday night during the ski season. The food was awesome. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't quite like was the ambiance. The furniture seemed dated, and when the restaurant gets packed with hungry skiers, it gets too noisy to be classified as "fine dining." Toward the end of the evening, it started to sound more like a family restaurant with noisy kids. That's totally fine if the food/prices reflect that, but not so much when they don't. Eh. Ski town. What can you expect?"

"Amazing food and wine list. A little pricy but great for special occasions. Only complaint was that the service was a little slow. For the amount of money we spent we shouldn't have waited as long as we did for service. Our server was super busy and had a lot of tables. Could have used another server but she was still great.
