"I was anxious to get an outdoor patio area and understood it was not "reserveable". I even got there exceptionally earlier to arrange for the possibility of maybe perhaps getting a spot in the cool patio and everyone at Hugo's was so nice and encouraging and made it happen. They let me sit there for 45 minutes to wait for all my moms + baby to join me and didn't harass me. Our wait staff, Josh was exceptionally attentive to all of us as they all eventually joined me at staggering times. They made sure we were comfortable, water was refilled, drinks replenished, reviewed the speciality, and the food was absolutely to die for. So tasty. I have been here before and will definitely be back. THANK you for being there and having this serve. LS"

"This was my first time at Hugo's and it was excellent. Craig was our server and was extremely polite and knowledgable. The wine list wasn't bad, there could have been a lot better options but adequate. They're New England Clam Chowder was fabulous and the frog legs were out of this world. Ambience was very nice, could be a nice romantic dinner spot or some where to have a nice dinner with friends. Definitely be back again!"

"10 minutes for someone to visit our table when we sat down. AWESOME wine list-well priced for all. Ordered frog legs (a specialty for Hugo's) and calamari appetizers. Both were just okay-nothing I would order again. I ordered the jumbo crab cakes-another Hugo's specialty-and my husband order the Chilean Sea Bass with side of Creamed Spinach for dinner. Crab cakes were dry-looked as though they came out of a box-I would not order them again. My husbands fish was really good, cooked perfectly, but it took another request to get the creamed spinach as it was forgotten on the order when delivered. We would try Hugo's again, but with so many dining choices, if we have the same type of experience would probably not go back."

"I am a big fan of Gibson's but had only been at the Frogs location downtown
Was worried the suburban location may not be as lively and as high quality. Well my worries were for not as our experience was awesome and the food was top self. Seafood was some of the best we have had in any part of the country. Steaks of course were the best you can find. Bar scene was jumping even after midnight."

"We can here for my Birthday dinner this past week. Though we live in Shorewood (south of Joliet) the trip is always worth the while. The food is always to perfection. My joy in life is a good piece of fish. I had the salmon. It was the best I ever had. My husband is a beef man. He had the WB (I think you called) It was cooked to perfection. He enjoyed it very. I am not a dessert eater but since it was my birthday I ordered your delicious cheese. It was certainly too much for me to eat so I bring the remainder home.
Our waiter was excellent He was very knowledge in everything we needed we wanted to know. He said "Happy Birthday" to me many times which was commendable.
We will continue to come back."

"Hugo's Naperville has become my "go to" place when I am in town on business. I find it a predictably great place to go with a work colleagues. The food is tasty, the service attentive.
The only thing I would change is the way they acknowledge patrons' birthdays. I appreciate celebrating -- and in fact, my colleagues recently surprised me by mentioning to the staff that it was my birthday so I personally got this treatment. But I find it distracting that the staff all surround the table of the person celebrating and then chant some phrase like "Happy You, Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday To You!" I must have been there on a popular day for birthdays because during the two hours I was there, this happened four times!"

"We've been to Hugo's several times and even brought friends from the Philippines who are visiting to try our favorites there.
We got gift cards to dine there for New Year's Eve and to come back a couple more times. It was so worth it.

"Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, as usual. Came to celebrate our 8 year old's birthday and my husband's 50th. Strange, though, they asked if we were celebrating anything when we were making the reservation and we told them of the 2 celebrations, and then they didn't do anything to acknowledge them. Which would be okay, but then why ask if we are celebrating anything, if you don't intend on doing anything about it (bring out a ice cream or cake for the person's birthday...). If you don't do anyting, then that is fine, but why ask?
Brought 2 people with us that have never been there before and they thoroughly enjoyed it. My family (husband and 2 daughters) have frequented Hugo's quite often in the past and love it."

"It is difficult to find words descriptive enough to tell how wonderful our evening was at Hugo's. From phone calls from me to them, to their reminder call to me (we'll keep your birthday cake in the cooler and bring it out with candles!) to the hosts, to the buspersons, to our AMAZING waiter, Tom Alleghretti, they could not have been nicer to us. In fact, they have motivated me to be nicer to everyone I meet. The menu changes daily. We ate off of the left side (appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches). The food? Every bite a new treat for the senses. Do not MISS the filet slider, or the Tilapia slider, or the crab cake (no filler evident either visually or taste-wise) with the pink sauce, or the New England Clam Chowder. Don't miss ANYTHING!"

"The food and service were good. The room just off the bar was great - when the piano in the bar was not being played! Unfortunately, when the piano was in use, the dining room was extremely loud & people were almost yelling at the people at their own table. :-("

"Oysters were excellent. Our fish dishes were fresh and well prepared. Steaks at nearby tables looked great with that thin high-temp fine char that is hard to find. Very impressed by service. Busy place, but service still managed to stay on top of things very well. Managers were readily evident making sure all bases were covered too. Nice to know you can rely on decent service and food, I think that makes this higher end option well worth it compared to a more dicey experience for a little less money. Busy, active bar area."

"My first time experience here was AMAZING, and I will be back shortly. There was not one thing wrong with either our food or drinks. Our server, Joshua, was impeccable, very knowledgeable and you could tell he cared about what he was talking about. This has been one of my favorite restuarants that I've ever been to."

"The noise level was VERY loud. I could barely hear my date. On a positive note, the noise was mainly from a live performer.
We went to the restaurant on a Friday night, and the place was PACKED. There were people waiting outside of the restaurant for seating. Because we had a reservation, we were able to go directly to the front of the line and be seated.
The server was knowledgable and attentive. He brought a tray with raw cuts of fish and meat to the table to present some of the specials. Our water glasses were never empty.
I ordered the crab meat suffed shrimp. My date ordered a crab and avacado salad. The portions were large. The shrimp was soaked in butter. I wasn't a huge fan of that, but my date liked the salad."
