Bud's at Silver Run is a casual elegant restaurant located just north of Westminster, MD and south of Gettysburg, PA. Opened in May of 2008 "Bud's at Silver Run" invites you to enjoy great dining in a casual, friendly atmosphere. Local resident Blinn Salisbury III and partner Ken Lurie are pleased to become part of the community and to revive this great location. We have searched for the right restaurant and are happy that we have found it in Silver Run. Ken brings more than thirty years of varied restaurant experience with him to Bud's. From learning under Karl Beckley at the Greenlake Grill in Seattle to Food & Beverage Director of the Virgin Grand in the Virgin Islands, Ken is excited to return to Maryland. Our goal is to enhance and enrich your dining by offering a quality restaurant experience. We hope to meet and exceed your expectations in each of your visits. Whether you live in the area or if you are just passing through we look forward to making Bud's your place!
"We went to Bud's for the first time on Father's Day. Located in Westminster Md, this restaurant was a find of great expectations. Although rather small in stature, it was impressive in the food department. We started our meal with a cup of the cream of crab. It was smooth and creamy with large bits of crab with just a touch of spicy. We had for our main course, chicken with dejon mustard and salmon with a boubon sauce. Both were delightful. Over all, we had a wonderful meal and we will be back soon."

"Restaurant is in a charming Federal style building in a country location. The owner has a friendly, hands-on approach to all diners, Food is great and the service can't be beat! Relatively inexpensive for the menu fare and wine selection."

"The meals we had were outstanding as usual and it was good to see Ken with a full house, even if it slowed down the service more than we would have hoped. The Corvina fish special was simply prepared with a light wine sauce, was well balanced, and did not over power the delicate fish. The filet and crabcake were also very good staples from their menu. The strawberries au poirve were an excellent way to top off another delicious meal."

"DISAPPOINTED. Mushroom pate appetizer was very good but was the only highlight of our meal We ordered a pork loin and received a pork chop that was also overdone. The fish special had a sauce with crabmeat and the crabmeat amount was minimal and the fish was overcooked and dry and very pricey as was the quail appetizer. Our bill was $77 before tip without any alcohol or salads or desserts. Too many other restaurants within an hour of our home that are much better so we will not be going back."

"It was my wifes birthday and since we dont get out much as a couple I wanted something special. We found it at Buds, wonderful help, one of the best prime ribs I have had, and my wife loved the food and the setting. Its only about 15 minutes north of Westminster MD. and well worth the drive. Keep in mind its a small restaurant so you will want to make reservations. As someone who worked in a restaurant when young I know how much effort goes into the type of service we experienced at Buds. Thanks again for a wonderful evening."

"Once again, another fabulous dinner at Bud's! The Oysters Moscow were fantastic! Baked oysters with the perfect amount of horseradish topped with flying fish roe. Dinner was the fish of the day - monk fish topped with a vanilla vodka cream sauce with crab meat - delicious. It is always a tough decision what to have for dinner as the regular menu items are consistently above par...the duck 2 ways is a favorite. We love the attention to detail at Bud's...especially Chef Ken's visit to our table to see how our dining experience is or if there is anything he or his staff could do for us. Another great venture at Bud's and looking forward to the next!"

"First time trying Bud's and we were not let down. Hands down the finest dinner we have had in Westminster to date. Service was excellent and the food delicious. Might be pricey for some folks but those are the same folks that think The Olive Garden is fine dining."

"This meal at Bud's was honestly one of the best meals I have ever had! The NY Strip for 2 was perfectly prepared and melted in our mouths. An absolutely fantastic experience. Thank you Bud's for making our special night a night to remember!"

"My wife and I discovered Bud' when we were relocated to the Silver Run Area due to a huge oak tree falling on our house. We were relocated for 4 months. Bud's was and is a real find. Ken, Ed and the rest of the staff never disappoint. We try to get there as often as we can even after moving back to our home in Finksburg."

"Fantasic lunch. From the 3 types of filet (US Prime, Kobe, and local filet) to the homemade cocktail sauce in the Shrimp Cocktail to the best homemade peanut butter pie I've had. Even the grilled ceasar salad is great. Can't beat the price and there was enough leftovers that I ate some of it again for dinner! I love eating at Bud's."

"Need to fix their macadam parking area. We park beside the restaurant which is fine. A less than satisfactory view of parking on grass, "creek" which flows the low-lying parking area. :) Edmund, gracious as always. Ken had a moment to inquire about our meal; excellent. My common unspoken complaint. Not enough sauce on entree, less salad than desired.--I wouldn't be acceptable for saving on restaurant food bills. LOL Perhaps we can stop for cuisine following my John Hopkins appt. on my birthday March 1. :) We drive by during every trip to Baltimore. Close to our home!"

"The ambiance was great, the service was impeccable and the food was great especially the cream of crab soup. Good wine at affordable prices. We plan to come back with family and friends. This was our first visit. Thank you for a lovely evening."

"On a special night out (Valentine's Day) found parking lot blocked by hillbilly pickup trucks of bar crowd. Needed to let my date out at front door and park in the unlit muddy area behind restaurant. Even with reservations, hostess tried to seat us literally at front door though there were open tables in main dining room. Service was slow, slow, slow. Waited for menus, waited for drinks, appetizers, and entrees. My date enjoyed her prime rib but a goodly portion of my 16 oz rib eye was left on the plate as inedible fat and gristle. For the record, I had a much better steak the week before at Maggie's for $10 less. Not worth the $100 (before tip) dinner tab."
